<ul><li><keyword id="19901201" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="SEBI" source="keywords">SEBI</keyword> has brought in new norms to regulate <keyword id="22205854" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="financial-influencers" source="keywords">financial influencers</keyword> or “finfluencers”.</li><li>The new norms prevent its regulated entities from partnering with unregistered individuals.</li><li>The new norms are aimed at minimising risks to retail investors who are easily influenced by such entities.</li></ul><keyword id="22979393" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Stock-market-watchdog" source="keywords">Stock market watchdog</keyword> Securities Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has brought in new norms to regulate unregistered financial influencers or “finfluencers” as it looks to clamp down on associations between its regulated entities and unregistered individuals. SEBI, in three separate notifications, has brought in new norms amid growing concerns about the potential risk associated with such <keyword id="21258588" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="finfluencers" source="keywords">finfluencers</keyword>. SEBI's board had approved the <keyword id="20306338" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="new-regulations" source="keywords">new regulations</keyword> in a proposal last month. <h2>What are the new regulations for finfluencers?</h2>As per the new regulations, SEBI-regulated entities and their agents are restricted from engaging in financial transactions, client referrals or interaction of information technology systems with any other person who, directly or indirectly, provides advice, recommendations or makes explicit claims of return. No person regulated by the Board (SEBI) or the agent of such a person shall have any direct or indirect association with another person who provides advice or any recommendation, directly or indirectly, in respect of or related to a security or securities, unless the person is registered with or otherwise permitted by the Board to provide such advice or recommendation; or makes any claim, of returns or performance expressly or impliedly, in respect of or related to a security or securities, unless the person has been permitted by the Board to make such a claim," SEBI said. SEBI has revised the regulations governing depository participants, intermediaries, and securities contracts. This will prevent mutual fund houses, registered investment advisors (RIA) and stock brokers from partnering with such influencers. SEBI has however allowed an exception for a limiter period for investor education partnerships. In such partnerships, finfluencers will not be allowed to offer recommendations or make claims about returns or financial performance. The new norms have been introduced to protect retail investors who get easily influenced by such entities offering biased or misleading information to earn a commission. SEBI brings in new norms to regulate finfluencers

<keyword id="19909974" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Maruti-Suzuki" source="keywords">Maruti Suzuki</keyword> India on Monday said it has reduced prices of select variants of the entry-level models <keyword id="21334806" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Alto-K10" source="keywords">Alto K10</keyword> and <keyword id="21899231" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="S-Presso" source="keywords">S-Presso</keyword> with immediate effect. The price of S-Presso LXI Petrol has been reduced by Rs 2,000 and the price of Alto K10 VXI Petrol has been reduced by Rs 6,500, the auto major said in a regulatory filing. The Alto K10 range is priced from Rs 3.99 lakh and Rs 5.96 lakh while the S-Presso trims are tagged between Rs 4.26 lakh and Rs 6.11 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). In August, sales of the company's mini segment cars, comprising Alto and S-Presso, declined to 10,648 units last month as against 12,209 units a year ago. The reduction in prices might be aimed at boosting sales ahead of the festive season. As per reports, dealers currently have a huge amount of inventory. Maruti Suzuki cuts prices of select trims of Alto K10, S-Presso

Gadkari stated that the government needs the support of the states to promote <keyword id="23007559" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="flex-engine-vehicles" source="keywords">flex engine vehicles</keyword> by reducing GST up to 12 per cent on <keyword id="23007560" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="flex-engines" source="keywords">flex engines</keyword>, cars, and scooters. "We will try to convince all the finance ministers. Yesterday I had the opportunity to discuss with the finance minister of Maharashtra and I told him, you please go to the meeting and put up this proposal for reducing GST up to 12 per cent on flex engines, cars, and scooters," he said. Addressing IFGE's India Bio-Energy and Tech Expo in New Delhi, the Union Minister added that factors such as economic viability, proven technology, availability of raw material, and marketability of the finished product are in favour of the development of these engines. Gadkari said that developing flex-fuel engines is the target of the government, and we have the "proven technology" to make it possible. "I feel that now the flex fuel is very, very important. Already the managing director of Tata, Suzuki and Toyota, they have decided to start flex engine car in the country," the Union Minister stated. Gadkari added, "So the flex engine is the ultimate target. As far as the market is concerned, there is huge potential. Everywhere, as far as a comparison between fossil fuel and <keyword id="20228373" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="biofuel" source="keywords">biofuel</keyword>, in the Indian scenario, the cost of biofuel is less and there is no pollution. So that is the important reason that it is going to be advantageous to the common man also," the Minister stated. The US August payrolls data, along with revised data for the last two months, will be market-mover and will be released at the end of the week. Fed rate cuts are also expected this month, with investors waiting for it cautiously. "September starts with the Fed rate cuts imminent and volatility expected around the event. For Indian markets, we expect a minor correction as 12 record-breaking days of continuous positive moves will see some profit-taking setting in. A gap up is expected today but at some point some selling is expected at these all-time high levels. We expect a flat to slightly lower market this week, mostly due to some reversion to mean after 12 record-breaking continuously positive moves," said Ajay Bagga, Banking and Market Expert to ANI. In the Nifty 50 list, 42 shares opened with advances, while 8 stocks started the week with a decline. In the broader market, all indices, including Nifty Next 50 and Nifty 100, opened with gains, but the India Volatility Index (India VIX) also surged by more than 2 per cent. In the sectoral indices, Nifty Auto declined due to the drop in vehicle sales in August. Nifty Media, Nifty PSU Bank, and Nifty Metal also showed corrections. Nifty IT led with a gain of 0.65 per cent in the sectoral indices. India ended the Day 4 of competitions at 27th spot in the rankings with seven medals (1 gold, 2 silver, 4 bronze). Preethi created history as she became the first Indian woman track and field athlete to win two medals at the Paralympics while Nishad Kumar clinched his second successive silver at the showpiece in the men's high jump T47 category. The 23-year-old Preethi, a farmer's daughter from Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh, bagged a bronze in the 200m T35 category with a personal best time of 30.01 seconds. She also won a bronze in the 100m T35 category on Friday. She faced significant physical challenges when she was born as her lower body was plastered for six days after birth. Weak legs and an irregular leg posture made her prone to various diseases. Preethi also became only the second Indian woman to win two medals -- both bronze -- in a single Paralympics after shooter Avani Lekhara who won a gold and a bronze in Tokyo three years ago. T35 classification is meant for athletes who have coordination impairments such as hypertonia, ataxia and athetosis. Later in the day, the 24-year-old Nishad, who hails from Una in Himachal Pradesh, won India's third medal from para-athletics and seventh overall for the country in Paris Paralympics with a season's best effort of 2.04m. He lost his right hand in a grass-cutting machine when he was six-year-old. Nishad, who had also won a silver in Tokyo Paralympics three years ago with a jump of 2.06m, had a tough fight with world record holder and defending champion Townsend Roderick of the USA, who clinched the gold after clearing 2.12m. STRONG SHOW BY <keyword id="20202465" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="shuttlers" source="keywords">SHUTTLERS</keyword> Tokyo Games silver medallist Suhas is set to become the first Indian shuttler to win back-to-back medals at the Paralympics after outplaying compatriot Sukant Kadam in straight games to reach the men's singles SL4 final. The 41-year-old Suhas, a 2007 batch IAS officer, beat Sukant 21-17, 21-12 to make another final at the global showpiece. Later, Nitesh Kumar also guaranteed a medal for himself in SL3 with a 21-16 21-12 victory over Japan's Daisuke Fujihara in the semifinal. Before Suhas sizzled, it was Manisha who set up an all-Indian women's singles SU5 semifinal with compatriot Thulasimathi Murugesan, assuring the country of at least a silver. NO SUCCESS IN SHOOTING RANGE After the high of four medals in two days, there was disappointment in store for India in the shooting range with Lekhara failing to qualify for the final following a 11th-place finish in the mixed 10m air rifle prone (SH1) qualification in which Sidhartha Babu ended 28th. In the mixed 10m air rifle prone (SH2) qualification, Sriharsha Devaraddi Ramakrishna ended in 26th place with a total of 630.2. In the Paralympics mixed event, both men and women compete on the line against each other. Coming off her historic gold medal in the 10m air rifle standing SH1 event, Lekhara ended the competition with a total of 632.8. Lekhara's sequence of scores read 105.7, 106.0, 104.1, 106.0, 104.8, 106.2, while Sidhartha had scores of 104.6, 103.8, 105.7, 104.9, 103.6, 105.7.
