The new offing will be available in only key markets such as Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai as a CBU (Completely Built-Up) unit.

BMW group joins the long list of auto manufacturers to revise the prices of all  models and mini models effective by January 2021

BMW India unveils all-new sports car M2 at ₹98 lakh

Luxury car maker <keyword id="105039" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="BMW-India">BMW India</keyword> has launched BMW <keyword id="914784" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="M3">M3</keyword> and BMW M4 Coupé in India today. The new models were launched by cricket superstar Sachin Tendulkar. 
	 While introducing these two new models, <keyword id="1587676" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Phillip-Von-Sahr">Phillip Von Sahr</keyword>, president of BMW India, said, “The all-new BMW M3 and the all-new BMW M4 Coupé are sharing pole position. Meticulous and passion-fuelled development has underpinned the creation of two high-performance sports cars that set new standards in terms of overall concept, precision and agility.”

The cars will be available in all BMW India dealerships in seven metallic paintworks: Black Sapphire, Silverstone, Mineral White, Mineral Grey, Austin Yellow, Yas Marina Blue and Sakhir Orange and in Alpine White as non-metallic paintwork. 
	 
	Both cars have M Carbon roof that has reduced the overall weight and helps in giving a ‘sportier driving’ experience to the driver.

After MINI, BMW Brings M3 And M4 Coupe To India

New Delhi, Dec 1 () In a relief to luxury car-maker BMW India, the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) has dismissed a petition filed by one of its former dealers, alleging abuse of dominant position.
A two-member bench headed by Chairperson Justice S J Mukhopadhaya has upheld the earlier order passed by fair trade regulator CCI, which had also rejected Parsoli Motors' plea on May 30, 2018.
Competition Commission of India (CCI) has said that as BMW has a negligible share in the passenger car segment in India, hence the question of abuse of dominant position did not arise.
The NCLAT, which is an appellate authority over CCI, said it "find no ground to interfere with the well reasoned order impugned in this appeal" and dismissed it.
The appellate tribunal also took note of the fact that the informant Parsoli Motors had obtained loan from BMW India Financial Services, which is another respondent, for running its business and defaulted it.
The company has filed insolvency plea before the Ahemdabad bench of National Company Law Tribunal to recover amount exceeding Rs 54 crore. Parsoli Motors Works was a dealer selling BMW cars in Gujarat since 2007. However, the dealership agreement was terminated in December, 2017.
After that it approached CCI alleging abuse of dominant position against the luxury car maker.
It had contended that it was not given sufficient time to exit from the business and as effect of termination of its dealership, the company was allowing dealers outside Gujarat to sell BMW cars to customers in the state, which was resulting in loss to the state government also.
It contended that the luxury car-maker has not only violated its own policy but also cheated the state exchequer.
However, CCI had found that BMW India has negligible share in passenger car segment in India which is dominated by its formidable competitors like Maruti, Hyundai, Tata etc. The fair trade regulator concluded that BMW India cannot be said to be a dominant player, therefore, the question of abuse of dominant position did not arise at all.
This was challenged by Parsoli Motors before the NCLAT.
The appellate tribunal also agreed to the finding of CCI and said that BMW India has "insignificant presence" in the relevant market.
"Even if it is assumed for the sake of argument that the termination of the dealership of the Informant or refusal on the part of OP-1 (BMW India ) to further renew dealership in favour of the Informant is in derogation of the policy framed in this regard and the Informant had altered its position by raising infrastructure and making investment for running such dealership, breach thereof may give rise to civil liability but not have the consequence of abuse of dominant position," said the NCLAT order.
Over the claim of loss to the exechequer of Gujarat, the appellate tribunal said, "It is inconceivable that an Automobile Company would setup a dealership solely for the benefit of the dealer or for generating revenue for the State where such dealership is located".
"Argument raised on this score being highly illogical and repugnant to reason is rejected," it added. KRH BAL

BMW launches its 3rd gen BMW X1 in India

New Delhi, Jan 8 () German car maker BMW on Wednesday reported 13.8 per cent dip in its sales at 9,641 units in India last year as compared with 11,105 units in 2018.
 The luxury automaker despatched 9,000 BMW and 641 Mini units in 2019.
 Besides, BMW Motorrad sold 2,403 motorcycles last year.
 "2019 was not an easy year for the Indian automotive industry as various macroeconomic and structural conditions shook its foundations," BMW Group India President and CEO Rudratej Singh said in a statement.
 BMW Group India, however, stood its ground in this fierce environment with a slew of new products and very aspirational and desirable brands, he added.
 "We successfully initiated new consumers to come into the segment with the BMW 3 Series and the BMW X1. At the same time, we created a clear path for upgrade for segment users with the BMW X5, the BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo and the BMW 7 Series," Singh said.
 The company has a healthy order book for the BMW X7 which is sold out for months, he added.
 "Though the industry is still facing difficult times, we are well prepared for 2020. We will always be competitive by remaining focused on our customers," Singh said.
 The company said last year it witnessed over 50 per cent sales come from the locally-produced sports activity vehicle (SAV) range, including BMW X5, BMW X3 and BMW X1.
 A strong contribution also came from BMW 5 Series and BMW 3 Series, it added.
 Similarly, MINI hatchback and the locally-produced MINI Countryman together commanded a share of over 70 per cent in Mini India sales, the German carmaker said. MSS

BMW India sales decline 13 pc to 9,641 units in 2019

New delhi, Apr 15 ( BMW Group India on Wednesday pledged Rs 3 crore for the ongoing battle against the coronavirus pandemic. The company said it has partnered with government and non-government organisations for on-ground implementation in Delhi-NCR and Chennai. It will also participate in setting up an isolation ward for COVID-19 patients at the government hospital in Chengalpattu, near its Chennai plant, BMW Group India said in a statement.Further, critical care equipment and services will be provided for medical facilities in Delhi-NCR and Chennai, while personal protection equipment will be provided for frontline medical personnel and law enforcement agencies in the two locations, it added."The coronavirus pandemic presents a mammoth challenge to public health, industry, economy and business. Responsible action and sincere efforts are immensely crucial for minimising impact on human life, providing immediate relief to the underprivileged and reinforcing those engaged at the frontline of this crisis," BMW Group India President and CEO Rudratej Singh said. BMW Group India pledges Rs 3 cr for battle against COVID-19

New Delhi, Nov 20 () German luxury carmaker BMW on Wednesday said it has upgraded its entire petrol vehicle range in India to conform to BS VI emission regulations.
 The automaker said it is now working to upgrade its diesel range to conform to stricter emission norms which kick in the country from April, 1 next year.
 The petrol portfolio is already BS VI compliant while, the diesel portfolio will be converted ahead of stipulated timelines, BMW India said in a statement.
 The company's Chennai-based plant has started local production of BS VI diesel variants of the 5 Series and 6 Series Gran Turismo and is also gearing up to roll out new X1, it added.
 "The complete petrol portfolio is already BS VI compliant while the diesel portfolio will be converted ahead of stipulated timelines. BMW Group Plant Chennai has started local production of BS VI diesel variants of the BMW 5 and the BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo," BMW India said in a statement.
 The production of BS VI version of the BMW X1 will also begin soon, it added.
 "Early start of BS VI production is a strategic call we are taking to meet the unprecedented demand for our new products," BMW Group India President and Chief Executive Officer Rudratej Singh said.

BMW upgrades entire petrol model range in India to conform to BS VI emission norms

New Delhi, Dec 18 () German auto major BMW Group on Wednesday said Kathrin Frauscher has been appointed as the new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of BMW Financial Services India.
 Frauscher has been associated with the BMW Group since 2007. In her last assignment, she was the CEO of BMW Financial Services Denmark, the company said in a statement.
 Prior to this, Frauscher was Head of Sales Performance for BMW Financial Services Northern Europe. She also has rich experience of working with BMW Group in the areas of retail performance as well as MINI Brand Management, it added.
 She succeeds Andre Van Rheenen, who played a big role in BMW Financial Services India, maintaining its position as a premium provider of end-to-end automotive financial solutions in India.
 Commenting on her appointment, BMW Group Financial Services Regional CEO (Asia Pacific) Ritu Chandy said Frauscher made a major contribution to the success of BMW Financial Services Denmark in the last few years. 
 "We are confident that she will continue the successful development of business as she takes charge of operations in India. Frauscher has significant knowledge and has demonstrated long-standing dedication and commitment to her markets which are the best prerequisites for good leadership," Chandy added.
BMW Financial Services India, a 100 per cent subsidiary of the BMW Group operates in retail finance, commercial finance and insurance solutions as corporate agents.
