BJP has announced that the party’s spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi and former Lok Sabha MP Satish Dubey will contest for these two Rajya Sabha MP posts from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar respectively. Samastipur in Bihar will go for by polls due to the demise of Ramchandra Paswan who won from this seat on behalf of LJP in 2019 elections. Congress has nominated Dr. Ashok Kumar to contest from this seat. Earlier during the last elections, he lost to Ramchandra Paswan. During the upcoming bye polls on October 21, 2019, Sayeeda Banu, Rita Chaudhary, Harendra Mirdha and Mannu Devi will field for Congress party from the assembly constituencies of Kishanganj (Bihar), Mandawa (Rajasthan), Khinwsar (Rajasthan) and Balha (Uttar Pradesh) respectively.

<keyword id="113653" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="United-Bank-of-India">United Bank of India</keyword> has nominated <keyword id="2625568" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Ashok-Kumar-Dogra">Ashok Kumar Dogra</keyword>, deputy secretary of Department of Financial Services as the Govt. Nominee Director of the bank. The board changes were revealed by the company in a disclosure to the National Stock Exchange (NSE). 
	 Dogra comes in place of <keyword id="292114" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Mihir-Kumar">Mihir Kumar</keyword>, who had been the government nominated director since September 2013. Kumar also served as a non-independent director under Clause 49 of the Listing Agreement as he was a part of the promoter group of the bank. 
	 
	On the other hand, the company also informed NSE that Kiran B Vadodaria, a Part-Time Non Official Director of the bank has also vacated his position. Vadodaria was appointed on November 28, 2011 for a period of three years.

New Delhi, Mar 6 () Fair trade regulator CCI is assessing 17 legislations from the competition perspective to ensure that there is no anti-competition impact due to them. Competition Commission of India (CCI) keeps a tab on anti-competitive practices in the marketplace across sectors. CCI Chairman Ashok Kumar Gupta said regulatory and policy framework could inadvertently impede competition. Against this backdrop, he said the watchdog is reviewing various legislations. Speaking at an event here, he said 17 legislations, rules and regulations of various ministries and departments are being assessed from the competition perspective. The assessment is being done by institutions empanelled by the CCI. Details about the legislations that are being assessed could not be immediately ascertained. Gupta also noted that there is often a fine line between good, hard-nosed competition and anti-competitive practices. "We need to balance anti-competitive effects and efficiencies...," he said, adding that the regulator's approach has to match economic realities of the time. According to him, competition enforcement is not to help competitors that have fallen by the wayside but to preserve competitive opportunities for efficient enterprises. RAM BKS ANSANS
