Gurugram, As the corona positive cases rose in Gurugram, the administration has added 18 more areas to the containment zones, taking the total number to 63. <div type="Article" hostid="261" msid="75348096" title="Gurugram district has 24 containment zones - here’s a complete block-wise list" mstype="2" mssubtype="0"></div> The decision was taken on Thursday in a review meeting headed by Gurugram DM Amit Khatri. "As per the guidelines of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, we have declared same number of buffer zones along every containment zone. Gurugram identifies 18 new containment zones— tally rises to 63

The Gurugram administration on Wednesday declared 10 more containment zones in the district taking the tally to 45. The decision was taken after review committee meeting wherein 14 new areas detected in the district having fresh cases appeared within five days. Earlier, Gurugram had 35 cases five days ago. Officials have also lifted containment zones at four places including Tyagiwada in Gurugram block, Shiv Kund, Bharatwada, and Thakur wada in Sohna block. Gurugram currently has containment zones at <keyword id="6371429" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Ashok-Vihar">Ashok Vihar</keyword>, Islampur village, Kadipur enclave, <keyword id="2706813" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Surat-Nagar">Surat Nagar</keyword>, Khandsa road vegetable market area, Patel Nagar, Hira Nagar Shakti Nagar, Anand Garden, Krishna Nagar, Jyoti Park, and Baldev Nagar. <keyword id="6354335" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="reserve-bank-of-india">Reserve Bank of India</keyword>, India’s central banking authority, has imposed a penalty of Rs 5 crore on <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/PSU-banks-in-trouble-Nine-banks-report-net-losses-of-Rs-14000-crore-so-far/articleshow/52328957.cms">state-run </a><keyword id="6358007" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Bank-of-Baroda">Bank of Baroda</keyword>, because of last year’s alleged Rs 6000 crore forex related irregularities. 
 
"Pursuant to the internal audit of the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Bank-of-Barodas-Q3-result-posts-highest-ever-net-loss-at-Rs-3342-crore/articleshow/50974096.cms">Bank of Baroda</a>, the Reserve Bank of India and investigative agencies in October 2015 were advised by the Bank of certain irregularities observed," the bank stated.

 It was in October last year that the <keyword id="30067" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="RBI">RBI</keyword> had carried out an inspection after Bank of Baroda's New Delhi-based Ashok Vihar branch effected Rs 6,100 crore import remittances to Hong Kong, a case that attracted both CBI and the Enforcement Directorate. 
 
As per these investigators, the amount was probably transferred as payments for imports, which never actually happened. 
 
The RBI investigation has now found out several deficiencies and failures in BoB’s internal control mechanisms as far as anti-money laundering provisions are considered. 
 
"The Bank has implemented a comprehensive corrective action plan, to strengthen internal controls and to ensure that such incidents do not recur," Bank of Baroda added in its statement.

RBI imposes Rs 5 crore penalty on Bank of Baroda for Forex irregularities

New Delhi, Nov 22 (IANS) To improve the national capital's air quality, the Delhi government on Sunday said it has installed 23 anti-smog guns at key intersections and construction sites across the city, and assured that this number will be increased, if necessary. Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai said that the Public Works Department (PWD) has installed these 23 anti-smog guns. He also said that PWD officials have also been instructed to sprinkle water on trees, roads and on the construction sites to combat dust pollution. "A total of 150 water tankers have been deployed for sprinkling water," Rai said. "I have also instructed the PWD officials to increase the number of tankers further so that all the key roads of Delhi can be covered. If necessary, we will install more anti-smog guns as well at the key intersections of Delhi." The Delhi government this year has launched a massive anti-pollution campaign - 'Yuddh Pradushan Ke Viruddh' - which is being led by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Rai. However, pollution levels breached the emergency threshold twice this month here with a grey apocalyptic smog enveloping the city for days, blotting out the sun and obsuring landmarks. To curb increasing pollution, the Delhi government had on November 5 also banned the sale and use of all kinds of firecrackers in the city till November 30. The National Green Tribunal had also imposed a total ban on sale or use of all kinds of firecrackers in the National Capital Region from November 9 midnight to November 30 midnight. Sources in the government said that over 70 lakh litres of water was sprinkled at 13 pollution hotspots in the past 36 days by the Delhi Fire Service to hold down dust as a measure to improve the deteriorating air quality in the city. The drive began on October 17 following orders from the Delhi government to check the dust pollution in the city, said the officials. Delhi's Fire Service Department has been also participating in the exercise and springling about two lakh litres of water on city's roads, construction sites and other key places regularly. The major 13 places, declared as pollution hotspots by the Delhi government, are Jahangirpuri, Narela, Ashok Vihar, Vivek Vihar, Dwarka, Mundka, Rohini, Wazirpur, Okhla, Bawana, Anand Vihar, Punjabi Bagh and R.K. 23 anti-smog guns across Delhi to combat dust pollution

Delhi's air quality deteriorated on Monday morning but remained in the "poor" category, while 14 of its 38 monitoring stations recorded "very poor" air quality, government agencies said. According to Central Pollution Control Board(CPCB) mobile app, SAMEER, the city's air quality index (AQI) was recorded at 281 on Monday morning. An AQI between zero and 50 is considered "good", 51 and 100 "satisfactory", 101 and 200 "moderate", 201 and 300 "poor", 301 and 400 "very poor", and 401 and 500 "severe". The stations which recorded 'very poor' AQI include Anand Vihar, Ashok Vihar, Bawana, Dwarka sector 8, Jahangirpuri, Mundka, Narela and Rohini. The central government's Air Quality Early Warning System for Delhi on Sunday had said that Delhi-NCR's air quality is likely to deteriorate on Monday due to unfavourable meteorological conditions. The central agency said the AQI is likely to deteriorate to the upper end of the "very poor" category between Tuesday and Friday. A total of 649 farm fire counts were observed over Punjab, Haryana and adjoining regions on Saturday, according to the Ministry of Earth Sciences'' air quality monitor, SAFAR. Stubble burning accounted for 12 per cent of Delhi's PM2.5 pollution on Sunday. It was 13 per cent on Saturday, 15 per cent on Friday, 20 per cent on Thursday and eight per cent on Wednesday. Delhi's air quality remains in 'poor' category as the national capital faces its coldest November in 17 years

New Delhi, Nov 20 (IANS) Delhi's air quality again deteriorated from poor to very poor category on Friday as the day progressed. The overall Air Quality Index (AQI) soared from 273 in the morning and stood at 309 in the noon, as per the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR). According to Central Pollution Control Board data, the AQI was at 325 in Anand Vihar, 328 in Ashok Vihar, 315 in Old Delhi's popular marketplace Chandni Chowk, 335 in Dwarka Sector 8 and 302 in RK Puram, all falling under the 'very poor' category. Other places such as Mathura Road, Indira Gandhi International Airport (Terminal 3), Dilshad Garden, Lodhi Road and Delhi University (North Campus) recorded 'poor' air, with the AQI values clocking at 235, 259, 267, 205 and 219, respectively. Officials from Ministry of Earth Sciences stated that Delhi's overall AQI is expected to marginally improve on Saturday and Sunday as a result of "relatively better ventilation conditions" due to accelerated local surface winds. However, they also forecast the air quality to deteriorate on November 23. The ministry also estimated the stubble burning fire share in city's air at 15 per cent as the stubble burning incidents reduced marginally from previous day and its count estimated to be around 495. "Energetic surface winds are forecast for the next two days and likely to influence AQI positively. The AQI is likely to marginally improve and be in the Very Poor to Poor category for the next two days. "AQI is forecast to marginally deteriorate and be in the Very poor category on 23rd November," they added. Delhi AQI spikes to 309, weekend may be better

New Delhi, May 6 () A 31-year-old Delhi Police constable who died on Tuesday evening after falling sick has tested positive for coronavirus, becoming the city police's first COVID-19 fatality, officials said on Wednesday.The constable's swab sample was sent for COVID-19 test and the reports came as positive on Wednesday, they said.This is the first COVID-19 casualty in Delhi Police.More than 26 police personnel of the force have tested positive for the virus so far. Some of them have resumed their duties post recovery.Taking to Twitter, Delhi Police Commissioner S N Shrivastava expressed his condolences to the family of the deceased and assured all assistance."The sudden demise of late Constable Amit Kumar from PS Bharat Nagar has saddened the police fraternity. We stand by his family in this hour of grief and pray to the Almighty to provide strength to bear this loss. All assistance to his family will be provided," he tweeted.The constable, a resident of Sonipat in Haryana, was posted at the Bharat Nagar Police Station in northwest Delhi, police said. He lived with a colleague at a rented house in Gandhi Vihar area.He was into crime data liasoning. Since the lockdown, such works were being carried out online so it didn't require him to come to the police station very often, a senior police official said. When he woke up on Monday morning, he complained of breathing problems. One of his colleagues said that he was given warm water and when his condition did not improve, he was taken to a hospital, a colleague said. "But he was neither admitted, nor tested for Covid-19 as the hospital staff said they did not have Corona facility," alleged a colleague. When he fell sick on Tuesday, he was examined at the Deep Chand Bandhu Hospital where he was given medicines and referred for Covid-19 testing facility in Ashok Vihar, police said. After returning home, sometime later, he started feeling uneasy and his health condition deteriorated and vomited. Seeing his condition, his colleagues informed Bharat Nagar station house officer (SHO) who asked them to immediately take him to RML Hospital, one of his colleagues said.On Tuesday evening, when the constable reported that he was feeling uncomfortable, he was immediately taken to the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital where he was declared brought dead, the senior police official said. The results from RML hospital regarding Coronavirus testing is awaited, however, the result from the test facility in Ashok Vihar confirmed he had the infection, said the official, adding that all the police personnel who came in contact with the constable have been home-quarantined and asked to undergo testing for coronavirus.The postmortem examination is yet to be conducted, the official added. Delhi metro services to neighbouring cities of the national capital will remain suspended till 2 pm on Thursday in view of a planned protest march by farmers against the Centre's new farm laws.
