You know <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=AIB">AIB</a>, the <keyword id="6359193" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="Comedy">comedy</keyword> group whose full name you can’t tell your parents? 
 
Yep, we’re talking about the fantastic four revolutionized India’s comedy scene with the tongue-in-cheek humor, funny digs at serious issues and a fresh perspective to current events. 
 
Branded as the desi <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=JOHN+OLIVER">John Oliver</a>, this group is also (in)famous for taking a FIR head on. 
 
With big FIRs come unimaginable amount of fame and eventually big cheques from brands and events. 
 
While speaking at The Coalition in Delhi, funny man <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=TANMAY+BHAT">Tanmay Bhat</a> shared three insider tricks that <keyword id="304800" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Rohan-Joshi">Rohan Joshi</keyword>, <keyword id="1359152" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Gursimran-Khamba">Gursimran Khamba</keyword>, <keyword id="1312970" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Ashish-Shakya">Ashish Shakya</keyword> and he swears by while pitching their ideas to brands and trust us they’re hilarious! 
 
 
 
“I might be bursting a myth here, but turns out brand managers are humans too- and all they really want is to know that you care about the brand as much as they do,” Bhatt explained as the audience erupted in laughter. 
 
According to Bhat, firstly they pitch an idea that they know the brand managers will reject, “And, when they do, we too put a sorry face and say “Yeah, I think he’s right. This idea is really not that good.” 
 
 
And bam! You’ve got him on your side. He now believes you’re not in it for just the money (which sometimes might be untrue). 
 
Next we pitch another outrageous idea that again they’ll want to get rid of as soon as they hear it. 
 
We promise them the next one is going to be the one. 
 
And, then we finally pitch the idea that we’ve wanted to do all this while. And, before you know it- he laps it up, mainly because the only sane idea they’ve heard all this while. 
 
That’s not all. There’s another trick that Bhatt claims makes a world of a difference. “Never ever pitch an idea via email. Always insist on a meeting or an interaction in person.” 
 
 
 
If they ask you to send them a an email with the pitch, say, “I will send it to you 20 minutes before I meet you,” Bhat explains. 
 
That way, he adds, that you can be physically present while he reads your pitch and gauge his reaction firsthand.

The video has some offensive language, so it’s better if you plug in your earphones if you are surrounded by people. It’s a different matter that your loud laughter will eventually make everyone wonder what you are really up to!

Hence proved! Irrfan Khan can do anything, even a party song

Early last year, India’s most popular comedy collective <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=All+India+Bakchod+">All India Bakchod </a>broke new ground by organising the first ever roast. 
 
A popular concept abroad, the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=AIB+Knockout">AIB Knockout</a>, hosted at the NSCI auditorium in Worli, saw the funny four along with <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Karan+Johar">Karan Johar</a> and <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Aditi+Mittal">Aditi Mittal</a> take digs at actors <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Ranveer+Singh">Ranveer Singh</a> and <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Arjun+Kapoor">Arjun Kapoor</a>, who played sporting victims. 
 
What they didn’t foresee was being slapped with FIRs on the participants and organisers on the ground of obscenity. 
 
The list of offenders thus included- the President of NSCI Jayantilal Shah, secretary general NSCI Ravinder Aggarwal and participants in the AIB Roast including <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Karan+Johar">Karan Johar</a>, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Ranveer+Singh">Ranveer Singh</a>, Rohan Joshi, Tanmay Bhatt, <keyword id="1359152" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Gursimran-Khamba">Gursimran Khamba</keyword>, Ashish Shakya, Aditi Mittal, Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, Rajeev Masand and <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Arjun+Kapoor">Arjun Kapoor</a>. 
 
“To be really honest, none of us thought it would be this big an issue, even in our wildest dreams,” admits AIB’s <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Gursimran+Khamba">Gursimran Khamba</a>, nearly a year after that incident, while speaking at <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Coalition+India">Coalition India</a>. 
 
The case, however, is still on. 
 
Adding how they were flabbergasted at the news, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Gursimran+Khamba">Khamba</a> admits their first reaction was disbelief. 
 
“I mean, come on. There are farmers dying in Maharashtra and you really want to make an issue out of this and give us three day primetime coverage?” 
 
Having cases against them did see several brands being wary of approaching them, but <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Gursimran+Khamba">Khamba</a> thinks the most damaging impact was to their confidence. 
 
“We are obviously scared now. We’ll think twice before including a joke. But, there are times that I just don’t care and think, no matter what I’m going ahead with my sketch, but later I realised that can’t be the case anymore,” <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Gursimran+Khamba">Khamba</a> adds. 
 
He says comedy is subjective, and admits they make content for a mature audience. “The reason we have Bakchod in our name is to let people know we’re for a select audience”, he adds. 
 
 “The only way you come out of something like this without getting scared in the future is if you don’t have a family to worry about or if you have the kind of money that <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Vijay+Mallya">Vijay Mallya</a> does,” he signs off.

on AIB Roast

<a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/All-India-Bakchod-does-it-again-This-is-the-truthbehind-the-Great-Indian-Wedding-Tamasha/articleshow/47249838.cms">All India Backchod</a>, the one comedy group that disappoints the least in the country, is back with a new video and by the looks of it, its big news. 
And, no before you even think of it, let’s tell you, it’s not another Roast. (Though we wish it was) 
 
Not just happy with being infamous for the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/AIB-You-Have-A-Right-To-Offend-But/articleshow/46144426.cms">AIB Roast</a> which made <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Ranveer-Singh-takes-to-Live-Blogging-his-day/articleshow/48972499.cms">Ranveer Singh</a> and Arjun Kapoor the victims of insult comedy, aided with a cameo by Karan Johar, the band of funny boys decided it’s time they take their notorious reputation to smaller screens. Literally. 
 
Eight months after their Roast, the comedy group launched the trailer for their next big project in association with Star and the all new Hotstar platform. 
 
The group has come up with a solution for all those complaining about how India has nothing that can match up to the likes of ‘The Daily Show with Jon Stewart’ or <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/India-doesnt-deserve-its-own-version-of-Last-Week-Tonight-and-heres-why/articleshow/48746556.cms">‘Last Week Tonight with John Oliver’</a> despite the country being a goldmine of laws, policies and politicians that can be mocked, ridiculed and laughed at. 
 
According to their trailer, the bad boys of comedy will be soon seen hosting a news comedy show, which would be aired on <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Satyamev-Jayate-2-Helps-Star-Plus-Cross-700-TVM-Mark-Again/articleshow/31994810.cms">Star Plus</a>, Star World and Hotstar. Titled ‘<keyword id="3056725" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="On-Air-with-AIB">On Air with AIB</keyword>,’ the weekly series premiering on October will have 10 episodes each in Hindi and English. 
 
 
 The video, which already has 129,635 views shows Tanmay Bhatt, Rohan Joshi, Ashish Shakya and Gurshiman Khambha walk in to the Star Office and bump into two fans who are suffering from the ‘Oh my god. You guys did the roast. Still can’t make up our minds on whether it was awesome or against Indian culture but oh my god you guys did the Roast’ syndrome and who assume that the fantastic four are at the Star Office to pitch Round 2 of the <keyword id="2700836" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="AIB-Roast">AIB Roast</keyword>. 
 
The four try their best to convince the two that their new show will hardly be anything like the AIB Roast in vain as the two are convinced that despite AIB’s claims of the new show being ‘a news space comedy,’ it will still bear resemblance to the slapstick comedy displayed in their previous project. 
 Giving AIB tough competition in the humour department, <keyword id="17943" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="star-india">Star India</keyword> CEO uday Shankar while talking to IndianTelevision.com, said, "I am told that based on extensive, exhaustive research, AIB are considered mildly entertaining and we should give them a show on our network. I have complete faith that we will regret this in the months to come." 
 
Granted, AIB making their debut on television is great news, considering the quality of content on the idiot box is worse than the plot of Hero (if there was one), the big question still is, will AIB be successful in shying away from their slapstick, overdramatic brand of comedy and herald the onset of intelligent comedy on the small screen and more importantly, is that even possible? 
 
Guess, we’ll have to wait and watch.
