In his keynote address, <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/sanjeevsinghss/">Sanjeev Singh</a>, Chief Operating Officer, Wipro, suggested that educational institutions, governments, and industries should reimagine the curriculum to better suit the current age. He emphasised the need for a laser focus on emerging opportunities in different sectors and training the workforce accordingly. One of the key takeaways from this discussion was the need for businesses to adopt agility in their approach and be aware of the changing face of technology and market demands. EdTech companies like Great Learning invest heavily in R&amp;D and innovation for their platforms. He added that we are in a golden period, and while transformation is underway, Covid has accelerated the pace of adoption, investment, and innovation. And even as we adapt to the transformation in this space, two themes that need to be addressed here, according to Nidhi Pant, are context (the rationale behind the upskilling exercise) and secondly, curating the right experience for the learner to bring about the best impact and returns from the process. “The learning experience is something that we really need to catch up on if we are not doing enough,” she added. Speaking of how enterprises can work with educational institutions to build capabilities, <keyword id="14629270" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="srilata-kolachana" source="Orion">Srilata Kolachana</keyword> said, “We have CSR initiatives where we work with schools, and it is a great way to build talent. But how about our think tank working with those engineering students for these NGO projects? If we are doing these kinds of linkages, then, without too much investment, we are building capability. Because we are giving mentoring support, and we are giving capability-building effort. We are putting that in place. So I think we have to look at the entire value chain holistically. I don't believe that it is some kind of blame game -- that they are not coping up or we are not there. I believe that we also have to do a lot to build that capability.” One of the crucial areas that Inuit’s <keyword id="6878443" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="rituparna-dasgupta" source="Orion">Rituparna Dasgupta</keyword> highlighted was finding the balance between hiring externally versus focusing on retaining talent and training them, which would be a far more cost-effective method. She further explained that Inuit has a strong partnership with academia to help bridge the gap, and that rests on three pillars — connection with the company, the impact of work, and helping them upskill within the organization. HCL’s <keyword id="14629268" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="vinutha-rao" source="Orion">Vinutha Rao</keyword> seconded that thought, that while the importance of academia versus vocational courses is widely debated, academia is crucial since it builds the foundation. Still, it is more important to shape the ‘curiosity mindset.’ She added, “If you can give a foundation training which builds a continuous learning attitude and curiosity mindset, I guess we got it right, and that’s what will take us in the next decade.” The other key theme highlighted by the panellists was the importance of ensuring reach and expanding the availability of upskilling initiatives. From boardroom concerns regarding upskilling to ensuring the adoption of strategic upskilling initiatives, the panel shed light on the roll-out issues that learning and development leaders need to address while planning their upskilling routines. Furthermore, he mentioned how Great Learning is working with these challenges by providing a platform that connects enterprises with ready-to-hire talent. He explained, "We’re building two new models, Hire Train, Deploy, and what we can do with universities at an early stage. Superset is essentially India’s largest hiring automation platform. Between GL and Superset, we have millions of learners on the platform. We’ve [added] thousands of colleges, and Superset last year rolled out around lakhs of offers just through the platform. <div type="ExtQuote" text="Whatever you could do going to colleges, visiting them, and making offers…now you can do that remotely. We have the colleges, we have the students, and we have the ability for you to choose them remotely. All sorts of assessments can be run -- you can interview them remotely and make them offers remotely. So the end-to-end lifecycle of us just training has expanded to hiring as well." auname="Ritesh Malhotra, Head, Enterprise, Great Learning"></div> Thirumala Mamunooru spoke about how Infosys has integrated ed-tech into the business’ DNA. His business is now identifying skills and recalibrating them frequently, giving them a clear understanding of skills relevant today and what might be required in the future. Also, by understanding the needs and motivations of the learner, they were able to optimise their upskilling initiatives. Bharaniram Bhaskarbhatta of Amazon highlighted the challenge they faced when looking for the right service provider for upskilling employees, since most of them either provided a trainer to deliver on the needs or provided content but lacked a combination of both, which was a huge deterrent for them. “If I would go to a service provider, then I would want the entire thing to be given to me. Otherwise, if I have to put that entire effort again, it doesn't make sense for me to go to the service provider.” HCL’s Arvind Kumar emphasised that talent development should not be an isolated element but must be in line with the business. Arvind also gave the audience insights on the company’s internal skills-mapping methodology that they use to gauge talent, which helped them chart the individual’s upskilling course. Wipro’s Anurag Seth shared insights on the ‘buy vs build’ dilemma when it comes to talent management. He noted that enterprises that choose to ‘buy’ upskilling packages might not be able to access all the skills that they consider critical, thus drawing upon the need to ‘unbundle’ the skills packages. This would enable the enterprises to deeply customise the programs to best suit their business needs. “Because the way their programs are structured and professors are structured, I know that in discussion with Great Learning, a lot of these things are changing, and they are amenable in some of the programs we've done with you (sic), but I think that has to fundamentally change.” As Enterprise India transforms to adopt the digital paradigm to stay in step with evolving technology, finding skilled manpower to foster and innovate remains a challenge. The previous record was held by Chennai Express (3,700 screens at home and 700 screens abroad).

"BYEEEEEEEEEEE:" DC celebrates Biden's victory with champagne and a massive block party outside the White House

<ul><li>L&amp;T now has 51.8% stake in Mindtree</li><li>73.9% of Mindtree shareholders sold in an open offer by L&amp;T</li><li>Mindtree shareholder Nalanda Capital offloaded its 10.6% stake to L&amp;T</li></ul> L&amp;T is known to have taken over controlling stake in IT services company Mindtree, pulling off a rare feat in India --- a hostile takeover. A large chunk of Mindtree shareholders tilted towards infrastructure major Larsen &amp; Toubro as 73.9% of them sold in the open offer at ₹980 a share. This has given<a href="https://www.livemint.com/companies/news/l-t-acquires-52-of-mindtree-in-indian-it-industry-s-first-hostile-takeover-1561536743325.html"> 51.8% stake in the</a> company to L&amp;T, and is known to have made over 20% stake from the offer, which was announced on June 7. The takeover turned successful after Nalanda Capital decided to offload its 10.6% stake to L&amp;T as a part of the open offer process, on June 24. Hostile takeovers are not common in India as promoters and the family own majority stake in their companies, leaving few outsiders to ever take control. Story so far However, Mindtree is one of the rare exceptions which is held by a clutch of investors and co-founder Subrato Bagchi. The takeover attempt started in March earlier when L&amp;T purchased 20% stake held by V D Siddhartha, the owner of Café Coffee Day chain for around ₹32.6 billion. After this, the promoters refused a bid to sell their stake, even as L&amp;T said it wanted to increase its shareholding to 66%. Even as L&amp;T has turned the promoter with a majority stake, during the course of the open offer more Mindtree investors are expected to concede. According to a<a href="https://www.business-standard.com/article/companies/subroto-bagchi-likely-to-offload-mindtree-stake-in-ongoing-open-offer-119062501210_1.html"> report by Business Standard</a>, the founder Subroto Bagchi, as well as Arohi Asset Management and Amansa Capital too, are in the process of giving up, to give way to L&amp;T. Interestingly, L&amp;T itself was once a target of a hostile takeover by none other than Reliance Industries which was then headed by Dhirubhai Ambani in 1987. Kumar Mangalam Birla was also one of the people who had purchased stake in the construction company, in an attempt to take over. However, timely thinking and setting up a trust by its own employees helped buy shares back. The trust is now of its biggest shareholders, after public sector insurance companies and banks.

<img class="gwt-Image" src="/photo/57054562.cms" />Rift between the founders and the management board in <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=infosys&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Infosys </a>has been widening since more than one year now. The two sides are at loggerheads over the large severance paid to former <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=rajiv+bansal&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">CEO Rajiv Bansal</a>, disclosed in 2016, and<a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=vishal+sikka&amp;sortorder=effectivedate"> CEO Vishal Sikka</a> ($11million). 
 
The founders are upset and as per several media reports, some promoters were also upset with the appointment of Punita Kumar-Sinha, an investment banker and wife of Union minister Jayant Sinha, as an independent director. 
 However, the main reason behind the dispute is governance issue and “violation of core <keyword id="6354512" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Infosys">Infosys</keyword> values”. 
 
ET reported some of the founders have held the board responsible for what they perceive to be its inability to enforce governance norms. In July 2016, one of Infosys' prominent promoters reached out to a top legal professional in Mumbai. 
 The agenda: to hunt for a co-chairman for Infosys. This, despite the fact that <keyword id="484178" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="R-Seshasayee">R Seshasayee</keyword> had been serving as Infosys non-executive chairman for just a year, since his appointment in June 2015. 
 
"The idea was to look for someone who understood core values of Infosys,” an executive told ET. 
 
A few names were thrown up as candidates, including a former Infosys finance hotshot and a retired founder. But the idea fizzled out as Seshasayee stepped down on July 28 as non-executive vice-chairman of Ashok Leyland - a post he had held since 2011- to focus on Infosys. 
 
Industry experts told ET the situation is not yet past the point of no return. "The end goal is the promoters, the board and the management should be aligned. I don't think the situation is irredeemable. If the founders air their problems, this could still be resolved. This isn't like the Tata case,” Shriram Subramanian, MD of shareholder advisory firm InGovern, told ET. 
 
Meanwhile, efforts are going on resolve the dispute. ET quoted two people saying among those involved is a prominent investor in the company - Baburaj Pillai. 
 
Reports of disputes over "internal governance issues, between some of the company's founders and a management keen on charting a new path have spurred efforts to broker peace by the Singapore-based fund manager as well as other influential people, said the sources cited above. 
 
Pillai, the founder of investment firm Arohi Capital, met with co-founder <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=narayana+murthy&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">NR Narayana Murthy </a>and chief executive officer <keyword id="6369763" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Vishal-Sikka">Vishal Sikka</keyword> late last year, according to people aware of the talks. 
 
"Pillai met with both of them to try and create common ground. He does not want Sikka to be forced to leave and he also does not want Murthy to feel as though his voice is not important,” one of the people aware of the discussions told ET. 
 
"With regard to concerns on governance being discussed in the media, we would like to reiterate that all decisions have been made bona fide, in the overall interest of the company, and that full disclosures have already been made thereon,” Infosys told ET in a statement.

1. The first time we saw Shraddha Kapoor on the silver screen was when she donned the role of a studious geek Aparna Khanna who volunteers in a poker experiment. The year was 2010 and the movie that marked her debut was <keyword id="16035" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="100" keywordseo="Teen-Patti">Teen Patti</keyword>, in which she starred along Amitabh Bachchan and R. Madhavan. The movie could not do well at the box office, resulting in a career setback for Shraddha. Reportedly, she also lost her role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s My Friend Pinto because of the movie’s failure. 
 
2. Next year, in 2011, we saw her as a girl next door who gets her heart broken and plans revenge in <keyword id="595028" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Luv-ka-the-End">Luv Ka The End</keyword>. She shared the screen space with Taaha Shah and Ali Zafar. The film was the first production venture of Y-Films, Yash Raj Films’ division for making youth-centric films. 3. After taking a year-long break, the young Kapoor lass returned to the screens with the musical romantic saga Aashiqui 2. The movie, which also had Aditya Roy Kapur, was highly successful and Shraddha Kapoor was noticed for her good looks as well as acting prowess. 
 
4. Next in line for the lady was a guest role in Dharma Productions’ Gori Tere Pyaar Mein, in which she played Vasudha, a Tamilian girl in love with a Sikh boy. The lead pair of the movie was Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor, and Shraddha’s role was limited to a few scenes. 
 
5. Came 2014 and Shraddha was seen as Ayesha in another musical romantic thriller Ek Villain. Her role was that of a young girl who falls in love with a goon and transforms him into a family man, only to be killed by a psychopath killer. Her role in the movie was limited to a few flashback scenes other than some songs, given the fact that her character gets killed in the first 15 minutes. 
 
6. Towards the end of 2014, we saw the pretty lady doing a role in Haider, for ace director Vishal Bhardwaj. She portrayed the role of Arshiya, a young Kashmiri journalist in love with the main lead, played by Shahid Kapoor. Her performance and hard work in the movie to get into the skin of a Kashmiri girl were appreciated. 
 
7. She also did an item number, called Dance Basanti, in the movie Ungli. 
 
8. In 2015, she would be seen in Remo D’souza’s next <keyword id="1870207" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="ABCD-2">ABCD 2</keyword>, which is the sequel to 2013’s ABCD: Any Body Can Dance. She is paired opposite Varun Dhawan and portrays a dancer in the movie. Reportedly, she has been working hard to get into the shoes of a dancer. The movie would release in June 2015. 
 
9. She would also began shooting for Rock On 2, the sequel to Rock On!!, which released in 2008. The movie would also stars Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal and Purab Kohli and would be shot in Shillong. 
 
10. Other than acting, Shraddha Kapoor also has a passion for singing, given her relations with Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhonsle, two of India’s most reputed singers. Shraddha’s mother Shivangi Kapoor is the daughter of Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhonsle’s paternal aunt. Shivangi herself is a trained singer, and Shraddha has surely got her singing skills from her. In the recently concluded Global Indian Music Awards, Shraddha Kapoor was awarded the ‘Celebrity Singer Of The Year’ award.
