Delhi Crime, Four More Shots Please and Made in Heaven actor Arjun Mathur nominated for Emmy awards 2020

Created by <keyword id="36968" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="zoya-akhtar" source="Orion">Zoya Akhtar</keyword> and <keyword id="125922" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="reema-kagti" source="Orion">Reema Kagti</keyword>, the show revolves around Sobhita Dhulipala's Tara Khanna and actor Arjun Mathur's Karan Mehra, two best friends turned wedding planners navigating the world of big fat Indian weddings while dealing with conflicts in their personal lives. "Made In Heaven" season two will delve deeper into the lives of its characters who navigate the complexities of organizing and celebrating marriages while their own lives unfold in unexpected ways, a press release stated. "As seen in the first season, the new season will also feature a host of cameos, whilst taking forward the nuanced narrative on various social prejudices. Season Two will beautifully reveal the dichotomy of tradition, modern aspirations and belief systems set against the canvas of lavish Indian weddings," it stated. The seven-episode season two is directed by Kagti and Akhtar along with Alankrita Shrivastava, Neeraj Ghaywan and Nitya Mehra. Besides Dhulipala and Mathur, it also features Jim Sarbh, Kalki Koechlin, Shashank Arora, Shivani Raghuvanshi, and Vijay Raaz. The newcomers include Mona Singh, Ishwak Singh and Trinetra Haldar. The first season of "Made in Heaven" came out in 2019 and received critical-acclaim for its storytelling and performances by the lead cast. She is now looking forward to the premiere of the second season of popular Prime Video series "<keyword id="5690475" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="made-in-heaven" source="Orion">Made in Heaven</keyword>" and the actor said going forward she wants to do work that will make her feel "fulfilled". "It has been a very beautiful year for me. All the work that I did in the last couple of years (is coming out now)... "I understand that perhaps a producer might have a little more confidence in me now than before (thinking) that she has been accepted by the audience or people have enjoyed her work in a certain space, so she is good enough as an asset for me to put on money, maybe she will be guarantee, certain amount of visibility. "The other side is that because Tara was loved and it is a distinct character, those are the kind of parts being offered. So it is a double edge sword, it is a tightrope, and you walk with as much grace as you can," Dhulipala, who previously acted in films like "Raman Raghav 2.0", "Chef" and "Kaalakaandi", said. "The writing was sensitive, but it also had a bit of satire. I could sense that there was some kind of commentary on socio-economic hustle. I thought it was enjoyable. When I got to know about the filmmakers involved, there was certain confidence that this would be done tastefully and sensitively. "I was just a kid, who got the chance to play a part that had so much meaning and depth. As an audience, personally, I would love to watch such a part, so to be able to do it, it was empowering." The actor said while she knew that she had a great role, she didn't anticipate that Tara Khanna would become a part of her "social identity" when she auditioned for the part. "It took a while for them to call (back). I had heard that they were looking at big names. It was going to be an important character. I was just hoping I'll get to play something like that. At that point, I had no idea that this would go on to become a large part of my social identity. I think I was just excited for the character." Actor Shivani Raghuvanshi, who plays Jazz, an employee in Tara's team, said when she learnt that Akhtar would be making the show, she immediately auditioned for it. "The casting director told me about the audition and said it is for a show to be made by Zoya Akhtar, I was sold. I remember the scene I had auditioned for, it was, 'Can you call me Jazz'. I did that scene and I knew it was fine. I thought they liked it but they didn't reveal it at that time. "But then I didn't get a call, I was like, 'I gave it a good shot and they liked it'. I was like, 'Big people cast known people and that they won't take me'. I got a call after a month that I've been shortlisted." "Made in Heaven" season two will be out on Prime Video on Thursday.

Told from the perspective of the <keyword id="917505" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Delhi-police-team">Delhi Police team</keyword> investigating the crime that made global headlines, the series deconstructs the case of the 23-year-old physiotherapy intern who was abducted and gangraped in a moving bus on the night of December 16, 2012 before she was abandoned on a Delhi road. Her injuries were so grievous that she died in a Singapore hospital a fortnight later. Mehta, in his acceptance speech during the virtual ceremony on Monday, dedicated the honour to all the women who not just endure violence that men inflict on them, "but are also tasked to solve the problem." Actor Shefali Shah played Vartika Chaturvedi, whose character on "Delhi Crime" was based on former <keyword id="10323304" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="delhi-police-dcp-chaya-sharma">Delhi Police DCP Chaya Sharma</keyword> who cracked the case of the brutal gangrape within 72 hours. The show, released in 2019, received massive acclaim for its sensitive retelling of a horrific crime that shook the entire nation. Performances by its ensemble cast, including Shah, Rasika Dugal, Adil Hussain and Rajesh Tailang were particularly appreciated. Hussain took to Twitter and congratulated the entire team for the win. Directed by Nick Holt, the movie follows the story of a 12-year-old boy and his experience of the UK legal system that puts him on trial for murder. Glenda Jackson, 84, bagged the best actress award for her role in "Elizabeth is Missing". "For Sama" won the best documentary award. The film is narrated and directed by Waad Al-Kateab along with Edward Watts. "For Sama" focuses on Al-Kateab's journey as a journalist and rebel in the Syrian uprising. The Non-English Language US Primetime Program category saw a tie, with "20th Annual Latin Grammy Awards" and "La Reina del Sur" season two bagging the honour. The Short Form Series award was bagged by "#martyisdead" from Czech Republic while "Old People's Home for 4 Year Olds" from Australia took home the award in Non-Scripted Entertainment category. Brazil's "Orphans of a Nation" won the top honour in Telenovela category. Last year, Nawazuddin Siddiqui-starrer "McMafia" won the best drama series award at the International Emmy Awards. Netflix's 'Delhi Crime' wins International Emmy Award 2020 for best drama series

Mumbai, May 5 () Actor Anshuman Jha believes he took the right decision to cancel the UK shoot of his film "Lord Curzon Ki Haveli" as he had a hunch that the situation may get worse due to the coronavirus pandemic.Anshuman, best known for featuring in Dibakar Banerjee's "Love Sex Aur Dhoka", will be making his directorial debut with the black comedy-thriller, starring Arjun Mathur, Tannishtha Chatterjee and Rasika Dugal.The 34-year-old actor said he was through with a technical recce in February and the team was scheduled to fly out to London for shoot on March 16."But on the March 7, I realised this is going to become something and pulled the plug on the shoot. At that time everyone was a little upset and thought I was overreacting but I'm glad I took the decision."It got really bad in the UK and we would have got stuck. Everything happens for a reason so I am not worried - the film will happen when it is meant to," Anshuman told .The UK is one of the worst-hit countries in the world by the COVID-19 pandemic. The novel virus, which originated in China in December, has claimed over 28,000 lives in the country.The lockdown in India has put all of his work on hold, the actor added. "I wrapped the dubbing of my show 'Mastram' from home, they had put a mini set-up mid March, so that kept me occupied. Everything else, new and old, is on hold and rightly so."We need to be home and follow the orders of the government and I think it will remain like this for a while," he said.Anshuman currently stars in MX Player series "Mastram", where he essays the role of Rajaram who took the pen name 'Mastram' to write erotic novels in the 1980s.The actor said he realised the popularity of the character while preparing for the role."I had never read 'Mastram' nor had I seen the film so the research phase allowed me to understand the simple, innocent person and why his literature is such an underbelly cult in India," he said."I understand it being hushed in the '80s and '90s but why stay hushed in this millennium when it is all about openness and communication with everything being a click away?" he asked.For the 10-episode series, the makers got intimacy director Amanda Cutting on board to shoot intimate scenes with sensitivity and Anshuman said the process made the actors feel secure. "My apprehensions were only with how the intimacy bits will be shot because in India we don't really have specialists doing intimacy.
