Zoho plans to woo WhatsApp defectors with its own messaging app Arattai

He also said in order to boost the immunity levels, the students attending the classes will be given vitamin and zinc tablets. The Chief Minister said the government's decision comes after 95% of the parents had expressed in favour of reopening of the schools. The parent's views were taken on 8 and 9 of this month by the respective schools and a report was submitted to the government. Tamil Nadu to reopen schools from January 19 for students of class 10, 12

Sterlite Power raises ₹200 crore in debt financing from Allianz Global Investors

The upcoming budget scheduled for February 1 will go paperless as the Finance Ministry has decided not to print the <keyword id="1077166" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="budget-documents">budget documents</keyword> amid the pandemic. This is a historic move as it will be for the first time in the history of independent India that the budget papers will not be printed. Sources said the government has received permission for the same from both the <keyword id="244400" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Houses-of-Parliament">Houses of Parliament</keyword>. The decision has been taken as the printing process would require several people to stay at the press for around a fortnight amid the coronavirus fears. The budget documents are generally printed at the Finance Ministry's in-house printing press in the North Block. This budget for the financial year 2021-22 may see several conventions being broken as the sources said that the traditional 'Halwa' ceremony may also not take place this year or a subdued function may be held with limited gathering. This ceremony, which normally starts around January 20, is attended by all the people involved in budget-making, and marks the beginning of printing. Once printing starts, printing staffers stay inside the press till the presentation of budget. Only a few high-ranked officials are allowed access and that too on the basis of a special identity card. The entire facility, loading-unloading and transportation are manned by the special security forces. This is not the first time that there would be a change in tradition in the presentation of the budget under Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. Following a significant drop in the number of new COVID-19 cases being reported daily, the state cabinet last week decided to reopen schools for Classes 10 and 12, and colleges for the final year graduation and PG students. It was also announced that students attending schools must get the consent of their parents. The government had also made it clear that attendance will not be mandatory and online classes will continue. Schools, colleges and university campuses across the state were shut after the outbreak of coronavirus in the state in March-end last year. Since then, classes are being held online. Though the government had earlier decided to reopen secondary schools and colleges after the Diwali vacation last year, it eventually dropped the idea following a sudden spike in the daily coronavirus cases at that time. Later, the number of new cases being reported daily started declining from mid-December. As against 1,500 to 1,600 cases emerging in a day in October and November last year, around 700 cases are getting registered daily at present. Washington, US President-elect <keyword id="99719" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Joe-Biden">Joe Biden</keyword> has received the <keyword id="7334317" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="second-dose">second dose</keyword> of the <keyword id="8904563" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="covid-19-vaccine">Covid-19 vaccine</keyword>, four weeks after he was administered the first shot. Biden was injected the second dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine on Monday at a hospital in Newark, Delaware, his home state where his transition headquarters are based, He received the first dose on December 21, 2020. Wearing a short-sleeved polo shirt so that the jab can be easily injected into his arm, Biden urged Americans to continue wearing masks, waving a black one of his own. Taking to Twitter, he said: "Folks, I just received the second dose of my Covid-19 vaccine  and just like the first dose, it was safe, quick, and painless. "I urge everyone to get vaccinated once it's your turn. Because only together can we save lives and beat this virus. "Getting America vaccinated will be one of the greatest operational challenges we've ever faced, but my administration will spare no effort to get it done. "We're going to ensure the vaccine is distributed quickly, equitably, and free of charge to every American." The Pfizer vaccine, which, together with the <keyword id="4912868" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="moderna">Moderna</keyword> vaccine, is being distributed across the country after gaining emergency use authorization -- requires two doses to be injected several weeks apart. So does the Moderna vaccine. Biden has recently vowed to release nearly all of the coronavirus vaccines the country now possesses after taking office on January 20, rather than withhold millions of vials to guarantee second doses are available. He also plans to get 100 million Americans vaccinated in his first 100 days in office. While the rollout of vaccines under the administration of outgoing President Donald Trump has been heavily criticised for being so slow that it failed to hit the initial target of delivering 20 million doses by the end of last year, Biden's plan seems to remain fluid, as reports surfaced that the President-elect vented frustration over the under-performance of his own transition team. Asked about his disappointment, Biden shrugged off those concerns by expressing confidence in his coronavirus task force. "I'm confident we can get done what we have to get done," said the President-elect, reiterating that some 3,000 to 4,000 Americans dying of the virus per day is "beyond the pale." Transition officials have complained about the lack of long-term planning by the Trump administration on immunizing the American people. The US distributed some 25.5 million vaccine doses as of Monday morning, and administered nearly 9 million first doses, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The country still leads by a big margin in confirmed cases worldwide, now at 22,612,384, more than doubling the number in second-placed India, according to Johns Hopkins University. The death toll has increased to 376,051, also the highest in the world. US President-elect Joe Biden receives second dose of COVID-19 vaccine

Earlier in the second quarter of FY21, the company had said that it would be shutting down two stores in Mumbai and turning them into fulfillment centers for its e-commerce operations. "One each in Mira Road and Kalyan. Both these locations have an alternate DMart store within 4 km," Noronha had said in a statement. Analysts too pointed out the slow growth in e-commerce. "Over the long-term, we like the soft launch of <keyword id="436047" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Ecommerce">ecommerce</keyword> operations in some cities, however, focus continues to be brick and mortar stores and e-commerce ramp up will be a slow process, in our view," said a report by ICICI Securities. However, analysts also believe that it’s e-commerce steps could make for a substantial long-term growth. “We believe the aggression on e-commerce along with potential market share gains in modern trade channels bodes well for long-term growth sustenance,” said a report by Edelweiss. The report also mentioned competition from heavyweights like India’s richest man Mukesh Ambani’s e-commerce debut JioMart, Walmart-owned Flipkart and global e-commerce giant Amazon as one of the key risks for Avenue Supermarts.“We expect a period of consolidation in the stock with investors waiting to see the impact of aggressive online competition in the grocery space,” said a report by <a href="https://www.financialexpress.com/market/radhakishan-damanis-dmart-hits-fresh-highs-but-analysts-shy-away-from-giving-buy-calls/2168490/">YES Securities</a>. This has further boosted its share price on Monday morning to ₹3,007 (as of 11.15 am). New Delhi, <keyword id="6360090" type="DOMAIN" weightage="20" keywordseo="reliance-capital">Reliance Capital</keyword> (RCAP) debenture holders at their meeting held on January 5, passed the resolution with overwhelming majority for <keyword id="1187112" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="monetisation">monetisation</keyword> of its <keyword id="41933" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="assets">assets</keyword>. This comes on the back of shareholders having already approved RCAP monetisation. Reliance Capital had commenced its asset monetisation process - to unlock value of its underlying businesses which targets to make RCAP debt free. JM Financial Services Limited and SBI Capital Markets Limited ran an independent and transparent asset monetizsation process. Expression of interest for nine key assets was launched on October 31, 2020. EOI process received massive response for the nine key assets as multiple players have placed interest for each asset with some of them also expressing interest in all the assets. EOI applicants would now perform due diligence on each asset and submit binding bids for the nine key assets. Asset monetisation process is being run under the aegis of Committee of Debenture Holders and the Debenture Trustee Vistra ITCL India Ltd, which represents 93% of total outstanding debt of Reliance Capital. EOIs invited for all or part of RCL's stake in the following key subsidiaries and assets individually or in any combination thereof: 1. 100 per cent stake in <keyword id="157626" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Reliance-General-Insurance">Reliance General Insurance</keyword> Company Limited (RGI). Paid up capital of Reliance General Insurance is ₹252 crore as of September 30, 2020. It is the fifth largest Private General Insurance Company with a market share of 4.5% as of March 20 in the Private General Insurance category. Consistent growth in AUM Year-on-Year with investment book of ₹12,315 crore as on September 30, 2020. Performed its best even during Covid times with Gross Direct Premium Income of ₹4,501 crore during the first six months of FY20-21. Strong distribution network of 134 branches with amongst one of the largest agency force of 46,742 as of September 30, 2020 across the country. 2. 51% stake in Reliance Nippon Life Insurance Company Limited (RNLI). Paid up capital of Reliance Nippon LifeInsurance is ₹1,196 crore as of September 30, 2020. RNLI is a joint <keyword id="6388493" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="venture">Venture</keyword> with Japan's largest life insurer - Nippon Life which holds 49% shareholding. It is the 10th largest Private Sector Insurer (in terms of Individual WRP) and amongst largest Non-Banca company with a network of 717 offices. Witnessed sharp turnaround in performance during FY19-20 with a profit after tax of Rs 35 crore and 75 per cent growth (12% CAGR) in Embedded Value over last four years. Impressive claim settlement ratio of 98.1% in FY19-20 and a higher Solvency ratio of 207% (as against regulatory requirement of 150%). As on September 30, 2020, the AUM was ₹21,912 crore. and an Individual Premium Market Share of 2.20% amongst private insurers. 3. 100% stake in Reliance Securities Limited - Broking and distribution company offering services across asset classes including equities, commodities, derivatives, currency, mutual funds, bonds and corporate FDs. 4. 100% stake in Reliance Financial Limited - RBI registered NBFC, engaged in the business of financing, money lending, capital market linked financing activities. 5. 49% stake in Reliance Asset Reconstruction Limited:  Manages portfolio of ₹1,996 crore as on September 30, 2020. Over 3.3 lakh customers across retail and SME segment, with dominant retail presence in South and West region. 6. 20 per cent stake in Indian Commodity Exchange. Other key shareholders in ICEX are Central Warehousing Corporation, MMTC Limited, <keyword id="6363556" type="DOMAIN" weightage="20" keywordseo="indiabulls">Indiabulls</keyword> Housing Finance Limited, Indian Potash Limited and Bajaj Holdings and Investments. Resolution of Lending businesses of RCAP - <keyword id="857313" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Reliance-Home-Finance">Reliance Home Finance</keyword> and <keyword id="3646337" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Reliance-Commercial-Finance">Reliance Commercial Finance</keyword>. Reliance Home Finance (RHF) and Reliance Commercial Finance (RCF) are undergoing resolution under RBI circular dated June 7, 2019. Bank of Baroda is the lead banker under the ICA resolution process of both the lending entities. The transactions for both RCF and RHF are expected to be closed by March 31, 2021.
