Before-and-after photos show dialed-down Anzac Day celebrations across Australia and New Zealand under coronavirus lockdown

Canberra, Apr 25 (AP) Traditional crowds at dawn services for the Anzac Day memorial holiday in Australia were replaced with candlelit vigils in driveways and neighbors gathering to listen to buglers play "The Last Post."<p>  Restrictions on crowds and social distancing due to the coronavirus meant that the usual packed dawn services in cities and towns across the country were not held on Saturday. </p><p> The holiday, also celebrated in New Zealand, marks the anniversary of New Zealand and Australian soldiers, known as Anzacs, landing on the Gallipoli Peninsula in 1915.</p><p>More than 10,000 soldiers from the two countries were killed during that World War I campaign in what's now Turkey, although Anzac Day honors those killed in all wars.</p><p>In the national capital Canberra, Prime Minister Scott Morrison spoke at a crowd-free commemorative service held inside the Australian War Memorial. A didgeridoo sounded the beginning of the service.</p><p>In the Sydney suburb of Wahroonga, trumpeter Lewis Ketteridge, 8, and French horn player Grace Colville, 16, were among a dozen brass players playing "The Last Post" from their driveways at dawn before 40 residents observed a minute's silence.</p><p>"Strangely, it made it more moving that people were still willing to commemorate Anzac Day instead of just letting it go by," said resident Catherine Colville.</p><p>She said the community carefully maintained social distancing as they placed candles, pictures of serving ancestors and wreaths of native leaves and flowers under an Australian flag hanging on a tree.</p><p>Marches and gatherings were canceled for only the third time - the last time in 1942 and previously during the devastating Spanish flu outbreak of 1918.</p><p>In New Zealand, where even tighter crowd restrictions are in place, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern stood at dawn on the driveway of Premier House, the leader's official residence, for a ceremony.</p><p>Thousands around New Zealand participated in the "Stand at Dawn" initiative, and in one Christchurch suburb, bagpiper Tom Glove greeted the families that gathered at each driveway with a rendition of "Amazing Grace."</p>(AP)  AMS

He added that they are "in good form, luckily. Stocks go nowhere as 10-year gets really close to 3%

Six of the points represent the country's six states, while the seventh represents the territories. New Zealand's acting prime minister - who is in charge while the PM is on maternity leave - is stirring up controversy and accusing Australia of copying his country's national flag

<ul><li><strong>28-year-old Instagram star and amateur stuntman Johnny 'Danger' Bennett reportedly died in a motorcycle crash on Wednesday.</strong></li><li><strong>Emergency services were called to the crash site in Auckland, New Zealand at 2.30 p.m.</strong></li><li><strong>Friends confirmed that the social media star, who had over 240,000 followers on Instagram and more than 300,000 on Facebook, had been killed.</strong></li><li><strong>He was known for his risky stunts and jokes.</strong></li></ul><p><br>A 28-year-old Instagram star, comedian, and amateur stuntman has reportedly died in a motorcycle crash in New Zealand.</br></p><p>Johnny "Danger" Bennett was killed in&#xa0;a crash on an Auckland highway on Wednesday, according to close friend Julian Rivers-Smith who spoke to&#xa0;<a href="https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/103383763/social-media-star-johnny-danger-dies-in-motorcycle-crash" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Stuff.nz.</a></p><p>Emergency services were reportedly called to the site of the single-vehicle crash at 2.30 p.m.</p><p>Police said on Wednesday night that they were still trying to confirm the identity of the man who had died - and the cause of the crash.&#xa0;</p><p>However, a fellow motorcyclist who was riding with Bennett at the time of the crash confirmed that the man's name was indeed Johnny, though he didn't know him personally.</p><p>He said that up to 50 riders had come together for Anzac Day, but got separated in traffic.</p><p><span>"I got to a point where everyone was signalling to stop because a&#xa0;guy had come off, so I went over to help," he said, choosing to remain anonymous to Stuff.nz.</span></p><p><span>The bike had reportedly gone down a ditch.</span></p><p>"When I got to him he was unconscious and bleeding. I only knew his name was Johnny, because everyone was calling him that, I didn't know he was anyone famous until later."</p><p>He confirmed that an ambulance arrived followed by police.</p><p>The location of the crash was a section of highway - with a 100km/hr speed limit - that climbs steeply with a passing lane that leads to a sharp turn, according to Stuff.nz.</p><p>While the conditions of the crash are unknown, Bennett, a New Zealander who had <a href="https://www.instagram.com/johnnydanger_nz/?hl=en" target="_blank" rel="noopener">240,000 followers on Instagram</a>, reportedly lost his driver's license in 2015 and was fined $1,000 after filming himself crossing a bridge while car-surfing on the roof of a taxi travelling at 80 km/hr.</p><p>He was reportedly known for his boundary-pushing humour and stunts.</p><p>Tributes have poured in to <a href="https://www.facebook.com/johnnydangerb/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">his Facebook page</a>, which currently has over 300,000 followers.</p><p>A tribute post saying Bennett was "taken too soon" also <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/Bh-6CW6nrv0/?taken-by=yambobikes" target="_blank" rel="noopener">appeared on the Instagram account for Yambo Bikes</a>, a line of prototype bikes Bennett was reportedly working on with freestyle motorcross rider Luke Smith.</p><p>Smith himself posted a message on his personal account saying he was&#xa0;"so lost for words and don't know where to start."</p><p>Bennett had launched his own brand of beer, Dangers Lager, and also starred in an MTV series called "MTV Presents:&#xa0;Johnny Danger."</p><p><a href="http://www.newshub.co.nz/home/entertainment/2018/04/mtv-releases-emotional-johnny-danger-tribute.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">A statement from MTV said</a>: "We've truly lost one of the greats. A relatively muted session as the Nikkei lost 80bp as the Yen popped after last week's sharp weakness, but fins continued to rally on negative-loan hopes from BoJ - Shanghai lost 40bp in light trade, while Markets in Australia and New Zealand were closed for the Anzac Day public holiday.<span> </span></p><p style="padding-left: 60px;">Ahead of the Federal Reserve <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_82457661"><span class="aQJ">on Wednesday</span></span>, with the Bank of Japan following <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_82457662"><span class="aQJ">on Thursday</span></span> we are seeing a reversal of some of last week's trades - Treasuries and Bunds have found a bid, despite JGB's having their first three-day losing streak since early November, but US yields remain well above <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_82457663"><span class="aQJ">Friday's</span></span> lows.  The DXY is retreating as Sterling hovers a near 6-week high and Euro rebounds despite German Ifo survey coming in weaker.  While the weaker $ is helping Gold rebound 40bp, most other metals are in the red, but watch Silver - a break north for the white metal will be darn impressive after last week's rally.   The Oil complex is off 80bp early, weighed by traders taking profits after three weeks of gains and comments from fringe producers that they find prices in the $40's acceptable.<span> </span></p><p style="padding-left: 60px;">Ahead of us today, we get New Home Sales for March at <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_82457664"><span class="aQJ">10am</span></span>, followed by Dallas Fed manufacturing Activity at <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_82457665"><span class="aQJ">10:30</span></span>. <p>An Australian man named Milo Manu Felix Wild (great name, by the way) asked his local judge for a three month <keyword id="6363869" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="60" keywordseo="jail">jail</keyword> sentence instead of a abiding by a court ordered two-year ban from drinking <keyword id="6359858" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="alcohol">alcohol</keyword>, <a href="http://www.ntnews.com.au/article/2013/06/18/322006_ntnews.html">NTNews.com reported</a> (via <a href="http://dealbreaker.com/2013/06/opening-bell-06-20-13/#more-105839">Dealbreaker</a>). </p>
