Two <keyword id="6359674" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="IIT-Roorkee">IIT Roorkee</keyword> batchmates have returned to the campus five years after graduating from the college to start a café called Sattiviko Idea Café. You may call it their way of paying back to the college which it is, but more importantly, the duo wants GenNext to get inspired and feel encouraged to start their own businesses. It is for this reason <keyword id="2741713" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Prasoon-Gupta">Prasoon Gupta</keyword> and <keyword id="633617" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Ankush-Sharma">Ankush Sharma</keyword>’s venture is not simply a restaurant, but an innovation/incubation center of sorts. It's a place for students to interact and exchange ideas with former graduates/seniors/mentors while sitting across the food tables savouring some delicious food in between their classes. 
	 
	This idea cafes will see mentoring sessions by a group of over 300 entrepreneurs and professionals like InMobi co-founder Mohit Saxena, Commonfloor founder Sumit Jain, and Raman Roy, chairman of Quattro BPO Solutions among others.

	 
	For their noble deed, the duo has got 2,200 sq/ft space inside the campus, and that too at a very cheap rent. 

	 
	Their vedic journey started back in February 2014 when Prasoon had quit his five year old venture Tech-buddy, a consultancy firm, and opened an NGO called Swarajneeti with the sole purpose of educating the modern generation for transparency in democratic India via innovative technological tools. 
	 Post elections, however, he decided to devote all his time to his new venture <keyword id="2241713" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Sattviko">Sattviko</keyword>, along with his batchmate Ankush Sharma. 
	The start-up was inspired by the sattvik way of life that emphasized purity and served cuisine from India. But soon after some time, they adopted cuisines from across the world, such as Mexican, Italian and American that conform to certain rules - no onions or garlic! 

	 
	Sattviko started as a quick-service restaurant and then evolved over the years to become an e-marketplace, delivering an exceptional experience to customers who look to adopt yoga and its practices.

	 It currently has two outlets in Delhi and one in Gurgaon which cater to approximately 500 people. Sattviko raised Rs 2 crore as seed funding last year, in a round led by online real estate portal CommonFloor co-founder Sumit Jain, Xerox India Non-Executive Director <keyword id="116474" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Rajat-Jain">Rajat Jain</keyword>, and <keyword id="10591" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Samsung">Samsung</keyword> executive <keyword id="358198" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Sanjay-Bhasin">Sanjay Bhasin</keyword>. 
	Both the young founders have big dreams for Sattviko. They want to take their baby to become a 100-crore plus company in the next few years. Lux's latest campaign features power couple Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli

A team of researchers from the <keyword id="55119" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="indian-institute-of-technology" source="Orion">Indian Institute of Technology</keyword> (<keyword id="6354859" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="iit" source="Orion">IIT</keyword>), <keyword id="6357478" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="kanpur" source="Orion">Kanpur</keyword>, has developed a novel technology that turns ACs into affordable air purifiers. Researchers from the <keyword id="108320" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="iit-kanpur" source="Orion">IIT Kanpur</keyword> and IISc Bengaluru developed an anti-microbial air purification technology which was used by air filters, according to an official report. "The novel air purification technology used in these air filters has successfully proven its efficiency towards protecting us from life-threatening viruses. This innovation is a great addition to the R&amp;D work IIT Kanpur is involved in," Ankush Sharma, Professor-in-charge of <keyword id="14935950" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="innovation-and-incubation" source="Orion">Innovation and Incubation</keyword>, IIT Kanpur said in a statement. In the winter, an air conditioner equipped with this innovative air filter system from IIT Kanpur can purify the air with a 99 per cent filtration efficiency, said the report. "This indigenous revolutionary innovation has tremendous potential to succeed in the global market. This launch is indicative of technology catering to critical world problems," Amitabha Bandyopadhyay, Co-Professor-in-charge of Innovation and Incubation, IIT Kanpur said in a statement. This new type of air filter has proven to restrict microbial growth and is capable of capturing PM 2.5, PM 10, dust, pollen, allergens and germs from the air while purifying, the report added. IIT Kanpur researcher develops technology to turn ACs into air purifiers

<ul><li>About 200 existing and former employees will be eligible to participate in the ESOP buyback plan.</li><li><keyword id="3358959" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="ShareChat">ShareChat</keyword> has updated its ESOP exercise price, which will allow the employees to buy each share at ₹1.</li><li>The company entered the unicorn club in April 2021, after raising $500 million at a valuation of $2.1 billion.</li></ul>Mohalla Tech, the parent company of vernacular social media platform ShareChat and short video app Moj, has announced its first employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) buyback programme worth $19.1 million (₹140 crores at current prices). Nearly 200 existing and former employees with vested options will be eligible to participate in the process. The company also announced that it has revised its existing vesting schedule. Under this, qualified employees will be allowed to vest 25% of ESOPs in the first year, followed by 8.25% every quarter. In case any employee leaves the organisation, the individual can still keep all the vested options and continues to enjoy the related benefits. Further, it has revised its ESOP exercise price from ₹1551 to ₹1, meaning that eligible employees can buy each share at ₹1. The firm’s chief executive officer (CEO) and cofounder Ankush Sachdeva attributed the success of ShareChat and Moj to the employees that have been working in the company for years. “We are presently witnessing an exciting growth journey and following an ambitious plan. Therefore, we have aligned our ESOP policy accordingly to reward our people who will be instrumental in paving the way for the next level of growth,” he added. The company seems to have witnessed an exponential growth in 2020, due to growing digital adoption during the pandemic and the ban on Chinese apps like TikTok. The company claims to have recorded a <a href="https://inc42.com/buzz/sharechats-monthly-user-base-reaches-160-mn-riding-on-tier-i-growth/">166% spike</a> in its monthly active users base during the pandemic from 60 million in March 2020 to 160 million in November 2020. GoKwik, launched in January 2021, offers tools and solutions to direct-to-consumer (D2C) brands — that sell directly to customers through their own website — to offer better experience to users. “If you look at D2C websites and compare it to the giants, you’ll realise that many things are broken. If e-commerce has to boom then someone will need to fix these experiences. That is what we do as a company,” Chirag Taneja, chief executive (CEO) and co-founder of GoKwik, told Business Insider. Fundraise to international expansion — all planned out GoKwik on Tuesday, September 7, announced a $5.5 million fundraise in order to expand its presence further. The pre-Series A round was led by Matrix Partners India, with participation of global investors like RTP Global. Several marquee angel investors and serial entrepreneurs also participated in the round. This includes Jupiter’s Jitendra Gupta, Uni’s Nitin Gupta, AngelList India’s Utsav Somani, CarDekho’s Umang Kumar, Shaadi.com’s Anupam Mittal, Livspace’s Ramakant Sharma, OfBusiness’ Asish Mohapatra and more. Over 12 angels invested in the pre-Series A round. GoKwik plans to use this funding to double its current workforce of 75 employees by 2022 and expand to other Southeast Asian countries that face the same ecommerce related challenges as India. The company has zeroed down on Indonesia, Vietnam and Malaysia for now. The Gurugram-based company notes that they will have an early mover advantage if they start international expansion now. For its international play, the company will focus on building local and central teams in the specific region and partner with local players. The technology and the product would largely remain the same for these markets, where cash-on-delivery would be a more common mode of payment. The Gurgaon-based startup helps retailers overcome challenges of setting up online stores and provide better experience to their customers. The company claims to have processed over a million transactions since its launch. New Delhi, May 22 () Real estate developers on Friday welcomed cut in key interest rates but said the RBI needs to take more steps, such as one-time debt restructuring of builders loan, to provide relief to the industry which has been hit badly by the lockdown. The RBI needs to ensure that banks pass on the benefits to customers, they said. The industry hailed the extension in the moratorium on loan repayment but felt it was not enough. "The advantages extended by the RBI through reducing the repo rates are not being passed on by the banks to the customers. The series of reduction in policy rates will help all sectors including real estate which is hit by the contraction in demand and liquidity squeeze caused by the COVID 19. " However, we are hoping for quick transmission of these actions in banks' respective lending rates," CREDAI National Chairman Jaxay Shah said. "We expected more stringent measures from the RBI to revive the economy. Real Estate sector can act as a catalyst in resurrecting the economy, backed by stringent fiscal and non-fiscal measures. The move of moratorium extension is a short term piecemeal solution to a long term problem," CREDAI President Satish Magar said in a statement. Naredco President Niranjan Hiranandani said the reduction in repo rate and extension of moratorium period were steps in the right direction. "Industry though awaits one-time debt restructuring as a holistic measure to give a breather to the industries across the board and help in its quick revival," he added. Tata Realty and Infrastructure Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sanjay Dutt said this will provide some financial relief to borrowers with their equated monthly instalments (EMIs) and make it cheaper to take new loans. Sobha Vice Chairman and MD J C Sharma said: "This will further lower the home loan interest rates. Such lowest ever, most lucrative reduced EMIs will augur well for the market sentiments and the larger economy. This will induce demand for homes and will give the much-needed fillip to the current state of the economy." Puravankara Ltd MD Ashish Puravankara said: "The further reduction of the repo rate will aid in ensuring adequate flow of capital in the market. We hope that all banks will incorporate the new announcements and pass down the benefits to loan seekers." Among property consultants, Anarock Chairman Anuj Puri said the repo rate cut will further help banks to lower home loan interest rates, which may get several more fence-sitters onto the market. Anshuman Magazine, chairman and CEO - India, South East Asia, Middle East &amp; Africa, CBRE, said: "The RBI's move to cut repo rate will have a positive effect on the residential property market. This is a clear step towards reducing lending rates, encouraging liquidity, preserving financial stability and supporting overall economic growth." JLL India Country Head Ramesh Nair said the faster transmission of these benefits to the end consumer in the form of lower home loan rates will aid in improving their effective affordability. "However, one-time restructuring of loans is the need of the hour more importantly for the real estate sector which is severely ailing due to the pandemic," he added. Dhruv Agarwala, Group CEO, Housing.com and Proptiger.com, said the move will boost sentiment and demand in the residential segment. "What needs to be seen is how quickly the banks reflect this change in their respective rates," he said. Knight Frank India CMD Shishir Baijal said it would have been a big respite if the long-standing real estate industry demand for a one - time restructuring of loans was allowed along with the measures announced on Friday. Savills India CEO said the lowering of the rates may help accelerate the decisions of a section of home buyers, in the next few months, if not immediately. "It will also help in reducing the EMI burden of customers during such grave times, provided the banks pass down the rates." Among other developers, Supertech Chairman R K Arora expressed disappointment that one time restructuring of loan was not allowed. Signature Global Chairman Pradeep Aggarwal said: "Now the situation for homebuyers might improve further as home loan interest rates are expected to come down further. Affordable housing will benefit the most as the buyers of this segment are very particular about the EMIs." ABA Corp Director Amit Modi, director said the banks need to quickly transmit the announced rate cuts to the end consumer, else the whole effort will be futile. Uddhav Poddar, MD, Bhumika Group said the industry was expecting one-time restructuring of loans while Prateek Mittal, Executive Director, Sushma Group, said the realty sector will benefit from the rate cut. Industry's demand for one-time restructuring of developers' loans should be met, said Ankush Kaul, President (Sales &amp; Marketing) - Ambience Group. The banks should immediately pass on the reduction in the repo to ensure the objectives of demand creation and liquidity infusion are achieved, said Kaushal Agarwal, chairman, The Guardians Real Estate Advisory. <div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table float_right"><div><div class="image">Thomson ReutersGolf: U.S Open-Practice Round</div></div></div>Golf star Phil Mickelson was not involved in insider trading in the shares of Clorox Co when billionaire investor Carl Icahn was attempting an unsolicited takeover of the consumer products company in 2011, <a href="http://dealbook.nytimes.com/2014/06/11/mickelson-said-not-to-have-traded-clorox-stock/?_php=true&amp;_type=blogs&amp;_php=true&amp;_type=blogs&amp;ref=business&amp;_r=1&amp;">the New York Times reported</a>, citing people briefed on the probe.
Clorox was among the stocks that U.S. authorities were examining as part of a three-year investigation into well-timed trades by Mickelson and Las Vegas gambler William Walters.
The FBI and the Securities and Exchange Commission did not find evidence that Mickelson traded Clorox shares, but Icahn and Walters remain under investigation over Clorox, the report said citing the people. 
Mickelson's agent and representatives for Carl Icahn could not be reached for comment outside regular U.S. business hours.
The federal authorities believed that Icahn may have shared details about his stock bid with Walters, who later passed on the information to Mickelson.
The FBI is pursuing a criminal investigation in the case, while the SEC is running a parallel civil inquiry.
Mickelson, 43, a three-time Masters champion and one of the world's highest-paid athletes, earlier said he had done nothing wrong and was cooperating with the investigation. 
Although, Mickelson is not connected to the Clorox trades, he is not in the clear on Dean Foods Co <DF.N>. The FBI, federal prosecutors in Manhattan and the SEC continue to investigate well-timed trades made by Mickelson and Walters in shares of Dean Foods in the summer of 2012, the newspaper said, citing people briefed on the matter.</DF.N>

Phil Mickelson Did Not Trade Shares In Clorox

<div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table float_right"><div><div class="image"></div></div></div>NEW YORK (Reuters) - Amazon.com Inc <amzn.o> has halted pre-orders of some Disney movies, the Wall Street Journal reported, in what appears to be another contract dispute after the online retailer began a protracted spat with publisher Hachette Book Group this year.</amzn.o>
Physical copies of titles such as "Maleficent" and "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" were unavailable for order on Amazon.com on Sunday. Digital copies of some of the movies in question were still available for pre-order.
Amazon.com did not immediately respond to a request seeking comment on the report. A Disney spokesman had no comment.
Amazon has been waging a battle against Hachette, the fourth-largest U.S. book publisher, over the price the online retailer can charge for e-books. Hachette is owned by France's Lagardere.
A group called Authors United ran a two-page ad in the New York Times on Sunday, criticizing Amazon for halting pre-orders from some Hachette authors and slowing delivery of books by Hachette authors. The ad was signed by more than 900 writers, including Stephen King and Donna Tartt.
In response, Amazon.com's Books Team ran a message on a website (http://www.readersunited.com/) on Friday evening reiterating its arguments for cheaper ebooks, and suggested people email Hachette CEO Michael Pietsch. The company published Pietsch's email address and listed key points people might want to make. [ID:nL2N0QF0FJ]
Pietsch replied to every individual who emailed him saying that the dispute started because Amazon is seeking a lot more profit and even more market share at the expense of authors, bookstores and Hachette.
"Both Hachette and Amazon are big businesses and neither should claim a monopoly on enlightenment, but we do believe in a book industry where talent is respected and choice continues to be offered to the reading public," Pietsch wrote on Sunday, a copy of which was emailed to Reuters.
"Once again, we call on Amazon to withdraw the sanctions against Hachette's authors that they have unilaterally imposed, and restore their books to normal levels of availability."
Amazon says pricing e-books at $14.99 or $19.99 is too expensive. It argues that cheaper e-books sell more copies and so ultimately generate more revenue and more royalties for authors.
