According to reports, e-commerce giant <keyword id="541988" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="SnapDeal">Snapdeal</keyword> is shifting their staff from a 200-capacity space in Malad, Mumbai to about 90-seats in the <keyword id="3502552" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Awfis">Awfis</keyword> Space Solutions. 
 The first thought that comes to mind after reading this is that the e-commerce industry in India is running into such high losses that cutting costs has become necessary. The other thing worth noting is the fact that <keyword id="2498362" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="co-working">co-working</keyword> spaces have become such a norm that companies prefer it over the traditional office space. 
 Even as cash-strapped <keyword id="6362513" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Startups">startups</keyword> are creating demand for co-working spaces in the metro cities, it is not clear why Snapdeal decided to move employees into this setup. The company told media earlier that the move to shift its Mumbai office to a co-working hub is not aimed at <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Now-you-can-list-your-car-for-rent-and-get-paid-for-it/articleshow/55154351.cms">cost reduction.</a> It is to make commuting easier for as the new office is centrally located and provides better public transport connectivity with Mumbai metro in the vicinity. 
 
However, sources have confirmed that the company's move comes after it decided to cut on the space requirements as per the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Redefining-the-concept-of-tea-breaks-for-corporates/articleshow/55095324.cms">business demand</a>. 
 According to a <keyword id="6363605" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="knight-frank">Knight Frank</keyword> report, any office space maintenance and cost in Mumbai, Delhi or Bangalore can cost between US$25,000 to US$30,000 a year. The report suggested that office sharing could save new businesses between 73 percent and 76 percent of the total cost. In India as of now, there are close to 61 co-working spaces, according to startup tracking firm Traxcn, of which 16 were set up in 2016 and this number keeps growing. Recently, U.S. office rental startup WeWork announced that it is opening a center in India starting from the second quarter of 2017. 
 
So what is the real pull here? Most start-ups working out of this space think it’s the opportunity to work with people with different skill sets that can act as a pool of talent, mentors, and advice.

 Awfis specifically has turned it into a lucrative marketing channel for financial and consumer brands partnering with 50 brands including Dunkin Donut, MakeMyTrip, <keyword id="87153" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="BNP-Paribas">BNP Paribas</keyword> and OLX to provide members with discounts in exchange for marketing commission. So while on their website, a 9 persons office in <keyword id="6366112" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Andheri-East">Andheri East</keyword> costs INR 117,000 per month or INR 5,000 per month for a desk, Snapdeal might just have struck a smart deal with the enterprise. 
 <keyword id="824043" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Business-Insider">Business Insider</keyword> caught up with Amit Ramani, CEO, Awfis Space Solutions, which is <keyword id="52011" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="South-Asia">South Asia</keyword>'s biggest co-working space provider with 2500+ seats, and he was very bullish on the idea that big corporates are adjusting to co-working spaces,' The MSME sector will lead the change when it comes to debunking the conventional office spaces. Many organisations like Renew Power, FICCI are working with us to give their employees a chance to work near their homes instead of battling traffic which saves time and money and increases productivity scores.'

The actual premise is that traditional offices are out of date. People everywhere, at start-ups or in large corporations, want open, creative spaces with cross collaboration, latest services like internet, security, food, and coffee and fresh design that doesn’t bore them.

Snapdeal is moving its employees to this co-working setup

In a bizarre development, the Securities &amp; Exchange Board of India (<keyword id="35210" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="SEBI" source="Orion">SEBI</keyword>) has released a list of some nine <keyword id="65338" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="income-tax-department" source="Orion">Income Tax Department</keyword> defaulters comprising companies and individuals who have reportedly gone 'missing' and untraceable. The matter came to light when the SEBI Recovery Officers attempted to serve the notices of demand on these defaulters against whom the Recovery Certificates have been drawn up. Some of the defaulters who have to cough out unspecified amounts of dues are missing for the past nearly two years, and some others untraceable for the past two weeks, from one or multiple addresses available with the market regulator. They are: MYNK1906 Industries India Ltd, with three known addresses, one at Vile Parle and two in south Mumbai; Inducon India Ltd., with two addresses, one each in south Mumbai and Andheri, (both untraceable since April 27, 2021). There's Classic Press International Ltd., with two addresses in Goregaon suburb, but is said to be out of bounds since June 17, 2021. Three others that are 'missing' since July 19, 2022 from multiple addresses are: Goodearth Financial Services Ltd, from Vile Parle east; <keyword id="15907249" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="aci-infocom-ltd" source="Orion">Aci Infocom Ltd</keyword>, operating from three addresses in Kandivali and three in Nariman Point; and Tejoomals Industries Ltd, not located at its sole address in Santacruz. Rajendra Mining Spares Co. Ltd, working from two locations in Andheri east has gone untraceable since July 26, 2022; Gloria Leasing Ltd, operating from south Mumbai and Karjat in Raigad, not available since September 29, 2022. Dynavox Industries Ltd, functioning from two neighbouring locations in Worli, has become missing since this month, December 6, 2022. Welcoming the SEBI move, <keyword id="15907248" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="trade-unions-joint-action-committee" source="Orion">Trade Unions Joint Action Committee</keyword> (TUJAC) <keyword id="352912" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="convenor" source="Orion">Convenor</keyword> and banking expert Vishwas Utagi said that it is "a matter of serious concern" how these entities and the individuals connected with them have abruptly gone off the radar, and must be probed. "These companies are liable to pay their dues and various government taxes... If they don't come forward, it will pave the way for SEBI to move other agencies and invoke relevant laws to attach and sell off these defaulters' assets to recover its outstanding amounts," Utagi told IANS. Admitting to the 'untraceable defaulters', the SEBI said that it has not been able to serve the Notice of Demands on them "at their last known address". The SEBI has 'advised' these defaulters to contact the Recovery Officer Srishti Ambokar vide a letter or email within a fortnight by January 12, 2023. It has also appealed to the general public that if anybody has any knowledge on the whereabouts of these defaulters, they can write/email to the Recovery Officer by the same date, though in this era, no telephone numbers are provided. Market regulator SEBI issues list of 'most wanted defaulters' - all untraceable

If things work as planned, <keyword id="6358070" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="mumbai">Mumbai</keyword> will have at least two operational metro lines in 2020 connecting the western suburbs of the city. The two corridors, Metro Line-2A (Dahisar-DN Nagar) and Metro Line-7 (Dahisar East-Andheri East), are proposed to be commissioned simultaneously in 2020, the <keyword id="64095" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Mumbai-Metropolitan-Region-Development-Authority">Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority</keyword> (MMRDA) said in a statement. MMRDA has not yet received possession of land for a car depot for Metro Line-7 as the land parcel is currently with the Airports Authority of India (AAI).
 MMRDA had proposed to give AAI another land in Gorai in lieu of their land. However, currently, this land has got a stay by the Bombay High Court as it had been earmarked for a law university.
 Meanwhile, MMRDA has also claimed that corridors, Line-2B (DN Nagar-Mandale), Line-4 (Wadala-Kasarvadavali) and Line-6 (Swami Samarth Nagar-Vikhroli), will be operational by 2021.
 The Supreme Court has restrained MMRDA from chopping trees for construction of the Metro Line-4 and asked to maintain status quo on felling of trees for the project. It had also sought replies from the MMRDA and the state.
 The ambitious Colaba-Bandra-Seepz Metro-3 corridor, being implemented by the <keyword id="117023" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Mumbai-metro">Mumbai Metro</keyword> Rail Corporation (MMRC), has been facing several roadblocks and also missed its deadlines, which is now expected to be commissioned in 2021. After the change of dispensation in Maharashtra, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray ordered a stay on the construction of a metro car-shed for Metro Line-3 in <keyword id="6370614" type="DOMAIN" weightage="20" keywordseo="aarey">Aarey</keyword> colony, touted as the city's green lungs. Protests by locals, NGOs and the chief minister's son who is now a Cabinet minister, Aditya Thackeray, led to Uddhav Thackeray making this announcement soon after taking charge.
 "Once completed, these five lines -- 2A, 7, 2B, 4 and 6 -- with an aggregate worth of Rs 44,869 crore are expected to serve more than 50 lakh commuters at around 98 stations across the city," the MMRDA said.
 These lines are expected to make a considerable commuter shift by 35 per cent, thus easing the gruelling grind that the suburban rail network is, it said.
 "We are overcoming the biggest challenge one might face, which was to do these development projects without having to completely stop the vehicular traffic even for 10 minutes. It will be an accomplishment to showcase to the entire world. Mumbaikars have shown great patience. Now, it is time to reap rewards," MMRDA Commissioner R A Rajeev said.
 Apart from these, Mumbai will also witness works on projects like Mumbai Trans-Harbour Link (MTHL) and the Virar-Alibaug Multi-Modal Corridor having an aggregate cost of Rs 31,430 crore. 
 The ambitious Rs 17,843-crore MTHL project will be connecting Sewri with Nhava Sheva and help solve the traffic congestion in the island city by improving connectivity between Mumbai and <keyword id="57321" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Navi-Mumbai">Navi Mumbai</keyword>. "Besides these, there are several other bridges and connectors which will be beneficial to Mumbaikars. There are two flyovers, with an estimated cost of around Rs 163 crore and a road coming up to clear the BKC junction, among others proposed," MMRDA said. PSK HRS

However, this feature now seems to be helping fraudsters mint money off people looking for booze delivery in India. According to a report on <a href="https://www.androidpolice.com/2019/02/01/google-maps-being-used-for-rampant-booze-delivery-scam-in-india-severe-lack-of-moderation-to-blame/">Android Police</a>, the issue was first spotted by Twitter user <a href="https://twitter.com/DrunkenPandaman/status/1091322403836317696">@DrunkenPandaman</a> when he tried to place an order at a Mumbai-based wine shop. The user also mentioned that the same number has been posted on <a href="https://mumbaimirror.indiatimes.com/mumbai/crime/liquor-cheats-strike-again/articleshow/69867252.cms">several wine shops</a> across the city. What is the Google Maps booze delivery scam? Fraudsters post images with their own phone numbers on wine shop listings. When someone contacts them for a delivery, they ask the buyer for advance payment. Once the buyer pays the fraudsters, they stop responding. One of the fraudsters went a step ahead and <a href="https://www.news18.com/news/india/mumbai-man-dials-wine-shop-for-online-booze-loses-rs-1-25-lakh-in-3-transactions-2346019.html">scammed</a> a Mumbai resident off ₹1.25 lakh while pretending to deliver booze from a shop named Ujwal Wines. When the victim reached Andheri East police station to file a complaint against Ujwal Wines, he realized that Ujwal Wines had already filed a complaint that his shop’s name was being used to scam people. How has Google responded? Soon after the above report was posted, Google issued the following statement – “Spammers and others with negative intent are a problem for consumers, businesses and technology companies that provide local business information. We’re always working on new and better ways to fight these issues and keep our information up to date. We use automated and manual systems to detect for spam and fraud, but we tend not to share details behind our processes so as not to tip off spammers or others with bad intent. We take allegations of fraud very seriously. When an issue like this one is reported to us, we investigate the claims. A Twitter user from Bengaluru shared an <a href="https://twitter.com/sharathred/status/1091328765148438528">image</a> from a wine shop that shows they have put up a notice informing users about the online scam and informing them about their official numbers. How to avoid such booze delivery scams? The first thing that you need to do is avoid calling on numbers posted on wine shop listings. Every listing provides a contact number that is updated by the owner themselves. You can use this number to inquire about delivery. In addition to this, do not make advance payments and never share your card details with anyone. If you place an order, ask them if they allow you to pay cash at the time of delivery. If you come across any such images, we recommend you report it to Google using the report button. This will help Google identify and remove such images.
