Intense tariff war and high taxes are expected to squeeze Indian telecom operators, leaving a gaping Rs 1,20,000 crore deficit between the industry's earnings and its debt/payment commitments this year, says debt-laden Reliance Communications, according to PTI. With annual interest payments, loan re-payment obligation, spectrum-related outgo and capex expected to add up to a Rs 1,62,000 crore tab, the operators could find it tough to metheir debt and payment needs with Rs 43,000 crore of EBITDA or operating profits in 2017-18. The earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) is a measure of a company's operational performance. "The reduced EBITDA (Rs 43,000 crore in FY18) of the industry is insufficient to cover the existing debt obligations and deferred payment commitments," RCom cautioned in its latest investor presentation. The gross liability of the telecom industry on account of debt as well as payments related to radio waves amounted to a whopping Rs 7,75,000 crore, as on March 31, 2017. Stating that 2016-17 recorded the first-ever decline in industry's revenue, RCom said the combined revenue went down to an estimated Rs 2.10 lakh crore. This resulted in fall in EBITDA by Rs 12,000 crore, meaning significantly lower operating cash flows for telcos. "Further in FY18 (this fiscal year), the revenue is estimated to decline further by Rs 25,000 crore," RCom said referring to the industry's weak financial metrics. RCom Chairman <keyword id="9171" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Anil-Ambani">Anil Ambani</keyword> last week stepped in to restore investor confidence after the company's shares were hammered in the wake of poor fourth quarter and FY17 showing, and debt downgrade by rating agencies including Moody's, Fitch, ICRA and CARE. In a rare public appearance, he said that the debt-laden RCom has been given a breather of seven months to service its debt. This is a part of a strategic debt restructuring (SDR) programme that a consortium of lenders has invoked for the company, that is saddled with Rs 45,000-crore debt. Like its larger rivals, RCom too has been hit hard by intense price war unleashed by <keyword id="6354504" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Reliance-Jio">Reliance Jio</keyword>, owned by Anil Ambani's elder brother and India's richest man <keyword id="3820" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Mukesh-Ambani">Mukesh Ambani</keyword>. RCom's presentation noted that the voice revenue per minute for the industry has seen a 25 per cent decline in the last two quarters, while data revenue per MB have fallen by 40 per cent. It cautioned that the sector could be staring at 30,000 to 40,000 job losses over the next 12-18 months, compared to 10,000 job cuts last year. Underlining the high incidence of taxation, RCom said telecom is "one of the highest taxed sectors" of the Indian economy and that no other country in the world has such high tax burden on telecom sector. The cumulative tax incidence adds up to about 33 per cent (of revenue) in India compared to 20 per cent in EU, 22 per cent in China and 17 per cent in the US. Incidentally, India, with over 1.16 billion mobile users is the second largest telecom market in the world, after China. Noting that the government has set up a panel to resolve the financial crisis in the telecom sector, RCom said industry wants deferment of payment liability with respect to levies (imposed by the <keyword id="150664" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="telecom-department">Telecom Department</keyword>) and spectrum charges by three years. The industry also wants a 3-year moratorium on service tax/GST, for short term cash flow relief. Other demands include reduction of licence fee to five per cent (from 8 per cent), and flat one per cent spectrum levy. Interestingly, at a time when telecom regulator is reviewing the call connect charges, RCom said that termination rate should be discontinued, given the free or low voice tariffs environment.

Themes like loneliness,<a target="_blank" href="https://www.insider.com/what-to-expect-after-giving-birth-2018-9"> physical discomfort</a>, and a sense of being changed were the most common responses. Here's what the mothers wish their partners knew. <h2>It can be very lonely</h2>Despite plenty of well wishes and visitors coming to see the new baby, lots of moms said that they were incredibly lonely postpartum. Recovering from tears, cesarean sections, and even straightforward vaginal deliveries was compounded by the physical demands of caring for a newborn while navigating sleep deprivation. <ul><li>"Giving birth isn't the end of the physical and emotional marathon — it's just the beginning," said<a target="_blank" href="https://amyandrose.com/author/amyrose/"> Amy Smith</a>, 36.</li><li>"The recovery process after giving birth is more challenging than many anticipate. It's not just about the physical healing; it's also about the emotional adjustments," said <a target="_blank" href="https://www.barklikemeow.com/about-us/">Eloisa Hife</a>, 32.</li><li>"I wish my partner understood just how much effort it takes to carry a child and give birth. They expressed some frustrations that their partners didn't understand just how profound these changes were or that their partners expected them to "bounce back," becoming the same after birth as they'd been before it. <ul><li>"Mothers are also, in a way, giving birth to ourselves in the new role as mother," said <a target="_blank" href="https://www.originmotherandchild.com/">Jaime Goldman</a>.</li><li>"I wish men really understood the fourth trimester. You feel like an alien in your own body trying to figure out how to find your old self," said <a target="_blank" href="https://blockchnmedia.io/about">Eliza Gwendalyn Mova</a>, 36.</li><li>"I felt like a completely different person physically and emotionally. I don't think partners understand how much change women go through during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. It can take years to feel like yourself again," said<a target="_blank" href="https://www.talesplash.com/about"> Amy Jackson</a>, 42.</li><li>"Giving birth is an out-of-body experience, except you don't come back into the same body; it's completely different. I am completely different. There's a new part of me, and no, I'm not talking about the stretch marks alone," said<a target="_blank" href="https://littlewinkssleep.com/about-us"> Anna McMillan</a>, 34.</li></ul><h2>It's overwhelming</h2>Many women expressed that they needed their partners to make decisions proactively. That's because their exhaustion was so deep that even a little decision or knowing what to ask for felt like too much. <a target="_blank" href="https://www.evolvingwhole.com/">Abbey Sangmeister</a>, 42, said she was so tired after giving birth that she couldn't verbalize what she needed. "If partners, friends, and family could anticipate one's needs like having food they love ready for them, keep their water bottles filled, and change any diapers," she said. For <a target="_blank" href="https://mendingtimemama.com/about/">Therese Masiello-London</a>, 42, even the smallest decisions were overwhelming amid the fog of sleepless nights. "I was so physically and mentally exhausted," she said. "There were many days when even the simplest tasks felt overwhelming. Making a simple decision, such as what outfit to put on the baby, felt like too much." <h2>Intimacy isn't a priority</h2><a target="_blank" href="https://www.instagram.com/nicole_Kumi/">Nicole Kumi</a>, 41, wished that someone had told her partner that while he was craving sexual intimacy, she was feeling touched out and insecure in her body, with little desire for sex. "The intimacy is not a priority for us in those first few months," she said. "Women are focused on survival and caring for another human, and sometimes our partners cannot conceptualize that." <h2>Learn about postpartum depression</h2>Postpartum depression is t<a target="_blank" href="https://www.insider.com/signs-of-postpartum-depression-ppd-2017-11">he most common complication</a> for women who have just given birth. Many of the moms wished their partners knew a bit more about the condition and how common it is — affecting about <a target="_blank" href="https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK519070/#:~:text=Around%20one%20in%20seven%20women,her%20relationship%20with%20the%20infant.">one in seven women</a>. <ul><li>"I wish that my partner (and our society) knew that having postpartum depression didn't mean anything was wrong with me. I was simply experiencing some biochemical and hormonal shifts," said <a target="_blank" href="https://claireuncapher.com/">Claire Uncapher</a>, 46.</li><li>"Postpartum depression does not discriminate to those exclusively with mental health issues. It can impact anyone," said <a target="_blank" href="https://momafterbaby.com/about/">Karissa Whitman</a>, 31.</li></ul><h2>The blues will pass</h2>The <a target="_blank" href="https://www.marchofdimes.org/find-support/topics/postpartum/baby-blues-after-pregnancy">baby blues </a>— feelings of sadness that are usually more fleeting than postpartum depression — affect about 80% of new moms. <a target="_blank" href="https://surrogacymama.com/">Gennifer Rose</a> wanted her partner — and herself — to know that the feelings were normal and would pass. "Even when you're beaming with pride holding your baby, you have this little cloud hanging over you. As an experienced mother with more than one child, you know that this feeling is temporary and it will pass. But when it's your first baby, it's an emotion that you really don't expect," said Gennifer R. <h2>You can only do so much at birth</h2>While having a supportive birth partner is important, women want their partners to understand that when it comes to labor, most of the work falls on the birthing parent. <ul><li>"I wish we both had understood it was me and me alone getting the baby out. He could be as kind, caring, and loving as possible, but truly, there was no way to know what I would need and nothing anyone else could do for me," said <a target="_blank" href="http://www.carrielevine.com">Carrie Levine</a>, 52.</li><li>"Labor may be long," said <a target="_blank" href="https://www.babycenter.com/expert-olivia-delong">Olivia DeLong</a>, 37. "Pack things to keep occupied: books, an iPad loaded with shows, and a pillow for times when you'll be sleeping or resting on an uncomfortable pull-out bed."</li></ul><h2>Quiet is essential</h2><a target="_blank" href="https://theporterhouse.co/pages/our-story-the-porter-house-company-woman-black-owned-home-decor">Tahwii Spicer</a>, 38, wished her partner understood how much she wanted a calm environment, even amid the excitement of welcoming a baby. "The desire to create a peaceful, quiet, and warm bubble around our family while we adjusted without much interruption from the outside world was all I truly yearned for," she said. <h2>There's so much pride</h2>A decade after giving birth, <a target="_blank" href="https://www.goldcoastdoulas.com/about-kristin-revere/">Kristin Revere</a>, 49, still remembers how powerful she felt. "I wish that my partner and all partners could understand the amazing feeling of accomplishment we have after giving birth, no matter how we birth our babies," she said. "The closest thing I can relate to is the feeling of running a really good race and being overjoyed and exhausted at the same time." <h2>We need to learn how to communicate</h2>With so many unspoken changes swirling around, many women said that learning (or relearning) how to communicate openly was critical. <ul><li>"The biggest hurdle of parenting is actually communicating with one another," McMillan said.</li><li>"I wished my partner understood the importance of open communication. Sharing fears, anxieties, and joys can strengthen the bond during this transformative period," Hife said.</li></ul>

'Manafort was an obvious person of interest': Robert Mueller scores a victory after federal judge allows indictment against him to move forward

'The elephant in the courtroom:' A federal judge said Cigna sabotaged its own merger to create the largest health insurer in the US

Superstar <keyword id="16227" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Rajnikanth">Rajnikanth</keyword>’s next Enthiran 2 (Robot 2) has been tipped as India's most expensive film ever. Set for release next year, it's already set a record in insurance cover for an Indian movie— Rs 330 crore, surpassing Rs 300 crore for <keyword id="6396827" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="100" keywordseo="PK">PK</keyword> (2014), starring <keyword id="6355923" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Aamir-Khan">Aamir Khan</keyword>, said two people involved in writing the policy. 
 
State-run New India Assurance, Oriental Insurance and United India Insurance will underwrite the production, they said. When the film goes into the cinema halls, total insurance amount will double— distribution cover will equal that on production, they said. 
 
Remuneration for the top four stars of film, which is being made in Tamil and possibly other languages, is also among the highest at Rs 150 crore. Apart from the Tamil star, they include Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson, who takes over from Aishwarya Rai, who was the heroine of Enthiran. S Shankar will direct again. 
 
"This is the highest ever insured movie after Aamir Khan starrer PK and Salman Khan's Kick," said Sumant Salian, business head, media and entertainment, Alliance Insurance Brokers. "Insurance cover for Robot 2 would double when the movie is ready and it goes for distribution." 
 
State-run general insurance companies have a penchant for movies with star casts as the risk of them flopping are low. Producers are increasingly opting for insurance to protect themselves against projects getting delayed because of star tantrums and other unforeseen reasons. 
 
Insurance covers risk from preproduction till the first copy of the movie. Various contingencies such as shoot cancellation, property risk, personal accident and thirdparty liabilities are also covered. Production insurance covers loss of life or property on film sets.
