<p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table float_right"><div><div class="image on-image"><p class="source"><span>Thomson Reuters</span></p><p class="caption">A Gadsden flag flies at the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge near Burns, Oregon.</p></div><p></p></div></div>An employee of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge - which was taken over by an armed occupation earlier this month - is speaking out.</p><p>The employee is terrified of returning after the siege.  </p><p>"I'm afraid to go back at this point," an unnamed refuge employee <a href="http://www.opb.org/news/series/burns-oregon-standoff-bundy-militia-news-updates/refuge-employees-break-their-silence-on-armed-occupation/">told Oregon Public Radio</a>. "I would say that this is the most disrupted my life has ever been."</p><p>The publication agreed to withhold the name of the employee, a US Fish and Wildlife Service worker, because of threats the armed occupiers have made against federal workers.</p><p>"Knowing that they're combing through all of our files, everything that we have that's government and personal at the refuge, that they have access to our computers, that they know everything from my Social Security number to my shoe size," the employee said. "It's a great sense of violation."</p><p>Employees who haven't been able to go to work in the more than three weeks that the occupation has been ongoing are still being paid. In addition, some have been able to work from home while others have found temporary work elsewhere.</p><p><span>"When everything that you hold dear, from your personal life to what you've achieved in your professional life, has all been seemingly taken away from you by people who have no comprehension of who you are or even the place where you live - it's a difficult thing to process," the employee said.</span></p><p>Ammon Bundy, the armed group's de-facto leader, had a minutes-long meeting with FBI agents Friday that didn't appear to make any progress toward ending the armed occupation of the wildlife refuge, <a href="http://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/politics/fbi-meeting-on-oregon-refuge-takeover-ends-abruptly/">the Seattle Times reported</a>. Bundy's father, Cliven, <a href="http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/meet-ammon-ryan-bundy-activists-leading-oregon-standoff-n489766">staged an armed standoff</a> with federal officials in Nevada in 2014.</p><p><span></span>The armed occupation of the refuge entered its 24th day Monday. Earlier this month, about two dozen armed protesters broke into the refuge's unoccupied building and refused to leave. It followed a march in protest of new prison sentences for two ranchers who were convicted and previously served time for setting fire to federal grazing land.</p><p>Those two ranchers - Dwight Hammond, 73, and Steven Hammond, 46 - reported to prison last Monday, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/ranchers-who-inspired-oregon-standoff-report-to-prison-2016-1-">Reuters reported</a>. A judge ruled in October that their prior terms for the arson - three months for the father and one year for the son - were too short under federal law. They're demanding that federal lands be turned over to local authorities and that the Hammonds be freed.</p><p class="zn-body__paragraph">Local authorities have made no attempt to reclaim the refuge. <p><span><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table float_right"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div></span></p><p><span>Stephen Colbert on&#xa0;Tuesday night's episode of "The Late Show" ripped the lengthy supply <a href="https://twitter.com/jjmacnab/status/685960657225793536/photo/1?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">list put out</a> by the self-styled Oregon militia.</span></p><p><span>The 80-plus item list, which was reportedly sent out by the mother of Ammon Bundy, the armed occupation's&#xa0;de-facto leader, asked for people to send the group such items&#xa0;as coffee&#xa0;creamer, pillow cases, and Copenhagen chewing tobacco, <a href="http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/call-supplies-oregon-standoff-enters-week-36199170">ABC News reported.</a></span></p><p><span></span><span>"She would bring the supplies herself," Colbert said of Bundy's mother. "But their clubhouse clearly says, 'No girls allowed!'"</span></p><p><span>He said the "rugged" men are "either starting a revolution or opening a bed and breakfast" based on their list of supply requests. </span></p><p><span>"They're not asking for anything extravagant, just the basics needed for a revolution like French vanilla creamer," he quipped.&#xa0;</span>"It's just like Patrick Henry's cry at the Boston Tea Party: 'Give me French vanilla or give me hazelnut! They're both yummy.'"</p><p>He added that the men could just come and go from the federal-nature preserve where they have&#xa0;been stationed at for nearly two weeks, since they aren't surrounded by police.</p><p>"I don't know, maybe they just don't have Google Maps," he said.</p><p>The armed occupiers have received plenty of mail since making the list of supply requests&#xa0;public - including, apparently, multiple packages of sex toys.</p><p>"It's really ridiculous," occupier Joe Ritzheimer <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_sXnZxiJjGw">said in a video</a>. <p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table float_right"><div><div class="image on-image"><p class="source"><span>REUTERS/Jim Urquhart</span></p><p class="caption">Self-described Patriot and former U.S. Marine Jon Ritzheimer poses for a picture at the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge near Burns, Oregon, January 4, 2016.</p></div><p></p></div></div>A self-avowed anti-Islam activist who allegedly participated in the militiamen occupation of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in Oregon has been arrested.</p><p>Authorities released a statement Tuesday night announcing that the FBI's Phoenix Division took Ritzheimer into custody Tuesday night "on a federal charge related to the armed occupation of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge."</p><p>According to the statement, Ritzheimer surrendered to police in Peoria, Arizona, after the militia's leader, Ammon Bundy, and several others <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/the-leader-of-the-oregon-militia-has-been-arrested-along-with-four-others-2016-1">were arrested in eastern Oregon</a>.</p><p>Police say Ritzheimer was taken into custody without incident.</p><p>He's being held on a felony charge in connection with the takeover of the federal facility in Oregon.</p><p>Ritzheimer posted a message on Facebook Tuesday night asking for donations and legal help before surrendering:</p><p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"><p class="source"><span>Facebook/Jon Ritzheimer</span></p></div><p></p></div></div></p><p>In the post, he says he returned to Arizona to visit his family, and acknowledged that "The Feds know I am here and are asking me to turn myself in."</p><p>Federal authorities had been watching Ritzheimer closely in recent weeks, after he aligned himself with the militiamen who took over the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in early January.</p><p>In an interview with The Washington Post, Heidi Beirich the Southern Poverty Law Center's Intelligence Project <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/the-fbi-has-been-tracking-an-unhinged-anti-muslim-activist-oregon-protester-for-months-2016-1">called Ritzheimer "unhinged,"</a> and said "he's potentially very dangerous ... He's rabid about everything."</p><p>Ritzheimer <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/an-anti-islam-rally-held-in-front-of-a-mosque-in-phoenix-urged-participants-to-bring-guns-2015-5">first became nationally known in May last year</a> when he organized an anti-Islam rally that was held in front of a mosque in Phoenix. Self-avowed anti-Islam activist arrested in connection with the Oregon 'militia' investigation

It belongs to the native people who live here," <a href="http://bigstory.ap.org/article/fa6199d2acdd456aa669ef6f43182386/armed-group-oregon-fears-raid-critics-decry-goals">Rodrique said</a>, adding the occupiers are "desecrating one of our sacred sites" with their presence. </p><p>At first, the native leader said she could relate to their grievances - as her tribe had been removed from the land before - but disagreed with their armed approach.</p><p>"I just think they're a bunch of glory hounds," Rodrique <a href="http://www.reuters.com/article/us-oregon-militia-tribe-idUSKBN0UK1FS20160106">told Reuters</a>.
