<ul><li>Indian edtech startup <keyword id="8664367" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="wizklub">Wizklub</keyword> focussed on imparting cognitive skills to school children has raised ₹7 crore as seed fund from Incubate Fund India and Insitor Impact Asia Fund. </li><li>The Bengaluru-based startup presently has over 150 centers in the city catering to more than 3,000 children. </li><li>Wizklub aims to build students with higher order thinking skills for cognitive development via SmartTech and HOTS programmes. </li><li>It teaches children as young as six years to create tech products via coding, robotics, smart devices and AI.</li></ul>Indian edtech startup Wizklub focussed on imparting cognitive skills to school children has raised ₹7 crore as seed fund. After the current round of funding from Incubate Fund India and Insitor Impact Asia Fund, its total funds raised went up to ₹9 crore. Founded in February 2018, the Bengaluru -based company plans to use the fresh capital for product and market expansion. It wants to add nearly 10,000 children to its programmes. It presently has over 150 centers in the city catering to more than 3,000 children. “Platforms like WizKlub, which provide standardised quality and easy access to after-school-education has been waiting for a long time among parents of K6 students. As WizKlub's model is highly scalable and monetizable, we strongly believe that they will create a great impact to Indian K6 education space,” said <keyword id="3988772" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Nao-Murakami">Nao Murakami</keyword> of Incubate Fund India — an early-stage VC fund of Japan. India has a potential market size of $15 bn for supplementary education. The demand for aptitude-based skills has called for the need of supplementary education against ‘rote learning.’ “Technology is transforming the world at an unprecedented pace, which necessitates children of this generation to be lifelong learners and adept problem solvers. Further, this generation needs to grow up with the confidence to be creators rather than just being passive consumers of technology,” said <keyword id="198990" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Amit-Bansal">Amit Bansal</keyword>, Founder &amp; CEO, WizKlub. Wizklub, which caters to the children between 5-15 years aims to build students with higher order thinking skills (HOTS) for cognitive development via SmartTech and HOTS programmes. The AI-driven tech platform is intended to create ‘smart’ readers and problem solvers. Its SmartTech programme ropes in children as young as six years — helping them build skills and confidence to create tech products via coding, robotics, smart devices and AI. "After-school-education for the K6 segment in India has been highly fragmented. At the same time, the rise of the middle class allows parents in urban India to start thinking seriously about giving a quality after-school-education to their kids,” said Murakami. A startup that teaches coding to six-year olds raises ₹7 crore in seed funding

India's largest e-retailer <keyword id="6354742" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Flipkart">Flipkart</keyword> has rearranged the top-level roles in its core marketplace business, so that it can see a boost in its sales and improve its seller ecosystem. 
 
Samardeep Subandh, who had joined <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Flipkarts-ad-business-can-promote-brands-by-playing-with-data-analytics-and-customised-searches/articleshow/52308147.cms">Flipkart </a>as its marketing head in December 2015, will now look over as the head of categories and would report directly to CEO <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Flipkart-duo-Sachin-and-BinnyBansal-make-it-to-2016-TIMEs-List-of-100-Most-Influential-People-in-the-World/articleshow/51929491.cms">Binny Bansal</a>. 
 
Having worked with several FMCG giants like HUL and Marico, Subandh has over a decade of experience in sales and marketing. In his new role, he is expected to help boost sales for multiple categories, especially mobiles and appliances, which has been a major growth area for Flipkart and is currently under competition with <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Tiger-global-reduced-Amazon-stake/articleshow/52308087.cms">arch rival Amazon</a>. 
 
As per the new arrangement, Subandh would have Amit Bansal (head of large appliances), Rishi Vasudev (head of fashion retail) and Adarsh Menon (head of electronics and automobiles) reporting him.

Flipkart rearranges top level to regain lost position in online mobile sales

<ul><li>Accenture re-trained 17,000 employees globally as automation performed the majority of tasks. </li><li>A McKinsey Global Institute report has shown that automation will cost India a major transition in jobs over the next 10 years — mostly the clerical and administrative job roles. </li><li>The move has helped the company since it didn’t have to hire new people and gave a chance to explore the capabilities of existing employees.</li></ul>The threat of automation replacing traditional jobs is increasingly becoming a pressing concern for organisations with many trying to prepare their employees for the transition. Recently, the technology giant Accenture<a href="https://www.zdnet.com/article/applying-artificial-intelligence-allowed-accenture-to-allocate-staff-elsewhere/"> retrained 17,000 people </a> globally as automation took over majority of their tasks. The back-end processing staff has reportedly been offered or deployed in new job roles. Accenture’s India operations, which mainly include credit card and mortgage application processing, have been automated with <keyword id="107950" type="TECHNOLOGY" weightage="20" keywordseo="artificial-intelligence">Artificial intelligence</keyword> and virtual chatbots, according to a <a href="https://www.zdnet.com/article/applying-artificial-intelligence-allowed-accenture-to-allocate-staff-elsewhere/">ZDNet</a> report. Earlier, the company had 110,000 people onboard to perform the same tasks that have now been automated. However, this has given the company an edge over other in terms of new hires and their training, Amit Bansal, Accenture’s Managing Director, analytics delivery lead APAC told ZDNet. While the company hasn’t disclosed the nature of the new jobs, in the past other IT majors have also sought to retrain and redeploy staff in other areas. For instance, in 2015, Wipro retrained 75,000 in Artificial Intelligence and cognitive technologies under its project NextGen. Of this, the employees that did not qualify for the digital business remained in the technology sector, Wipro CEO, Abidali Z. Neemuchwala told Livemint. A recent report by McKinsey Global Institute has shown that automation will cost India a major <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/automation-will-affect-women-the-most-in-the-indian-job-market-report/articleshow/69674101.cms">transition in jobs</a> over the next 10 years — mostly the clerical and in-service jobs including administrative positions. This shift in roles will affect nearly 11 million working women in India. However, with the advent of automation and new algorithms, many new job roles have been introduced. This is expected to create <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/hiring-tcs-infosys-wipro-and-others-up-12-months-in-a-row/articleshow/69019342.cms">133 million new opportunities</a> in the job market, according to the World Economic Forum. I have been able to channel my energies here towards innovative technology that has helped shape the present and the future. The times are exciting and the environment at Corning resonate the adrenalin rush with which our society is changing and to witness this every day is extremely fulfilling. 
 
For me personally, it has been an exciting learning experience which has helped me move closer to my goal of making this world a better place. 
 
• You are constantly researching and innovating. How do you deal with the stress? 
 
For me, it is learning and enjoyment rather than stress. India is one of the fastest growing markets in the world. As I see the potential of growth for Corning in India, leading the company wakes me up with determination and gives me joy to start my day with.
