The watch offers dozens of watch faces, offering you several options based on your preferences. It offers over 120 sports modes, allowing you to track your workouts and activities easily. While it is good to have so many options, apart from a couple of sports modes, you are unlikely to use the other options. The smartwatch comes with Bluetooth calling support, allowing you to answer and make calls using the smartwatch. We tested the watch and found that while some of the things work well, it has its share of misses as well. Starting with the health and activity tracking, we compared the numbers on the Amazfit Active with other smartwatches and a certified pulse oximeter to find out if there were any deviations. While the watch was close to the actual number, it was off by 1-2 points. The watch performed well in health tracking, showing accurate information. Even the sleep tracking feature works well, and we found that the sleep duration shown on the watch was accurate. The one-tap measuring feature works well and reveals your heart rate, stress levels and blood oxygen saturation in 45 seconds, giving you a quick overview of your health. This allows you to track some vital stats throughout the day by spending less than a minute each time. There was a slight deviation in activity tracking, such as the steps and distance covered. This is around 5%, which is not bad for a watch in this segment. Battery life is one of the most impressive things about the Amazfit Active. It is claimed to offer a battery life of up to 14 days on a single charge. During our usage, with regular activity tracking and always-on display enabled during the day, we were able to get around 12 days of battery life, which is quite good. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Software and application" comment="subhead" text="Software and application">Software and application</cmsannotation> The Amazfit Active runs on Zepp OS 2.0, and it is one of the few operating systems out there apart from Wear OS that feels good to use and does not feel clunky or laggy. I noticed a small deviation in steps and distance covered, but unless you are a professional looking for highly accurate information, the deviation is not a deal breaker. Battery life is one of the biggest selling points of the GTR 4, and the watch earns its money in this department. It is claimed to offer a battery life of up to 14 days on a single charge. For instance, we compared the steps counted by the GTS 2 with the OnePlus Band and Oppo Watch – more often than not, GTS 2 showed a variance of 5-10% while the OnePlus Band and Oppo Watch showed similar readings. Coming to the battery life, the GTS 2 is equipped with a 246mAh battery. It usually lasted for four to five days, with most of the features enabled, including heart rate monitoring. It is one of the best-looking smartwatches in its price segment. It comes with a tiny dial on the right side, which is mostly for opening the main menu and going back. It's actually a design addition as it doesn't add any use case apart from a click - something that a simple button could do. Meaning, rotating it doesn't scroll through the interface. But I personally don't mind having it. OnePlus has opted for a 1.78 -inch square shape display which is large for the segment; the Redmi Watch 2 Lite and the Amazfit GTS 2 Mini feature a 1.55- inch display. The best thing about Nord Watch is that it doesn’t look bulky or oversized. It is slim and weighs a little over 50 grams, along with a band. The 1.78- inch AMOLED is neatly fitted in an alloy frame that adds a premium touch. It has a resolution of 448 x 368p along with a maximum refresh rate of 60Hz and 500 nit peak brightness, which makes it suitable for outdoor use. The 60Hz display is sharp, the animation feels smooth, making the smartwatch display look responsive and speedy. <div type="image" title="OnePlus Nord Watch" msid="95281508" hostid="261"></div> The watch comes with pre-loaded hundreds of watch faces to play around although only five watch faces remain on the watch. You will have to go to the N Health connection app for more options. The watch face collection is impressive as it includes some animated options, something worth noting if you like customising the face often. The smartwatch lacks an always-on display which is disappointing, but the rise-to-wake function works reasonably well. The colors on display are oversaturated, but I think that is a good move as it makes the display pop out and make it noticeable. Unlike phones, it’s a pro for watches. The Nord Watch comes with an elegance that enables it to blend in wherever it goes, from the gym to the boardroom to the cafe. It comes with an IP68 rating, making it dust and water resistance. It cannot survive underwater but can easily survive the rigors of a gym or a spell in the rain. The interface of the watch is simple, it is easy to navigate but looks inspired by Apple Watch (especially the main menu). You can access the control panel by swiping down - and it has quick access options like torch, settings, brightness, find phone, camera control and more. While these features are more common on expensive smartwatches, I feel some of them could’ve been included to make it a better value proposition. Its biggest competitor is Amazefit GTS 2 Mini, which is priced at ₹5,999. But it has been sold at ₹4,999 for a very long time as part of seasonal sales. The Amazfit may not be fancy as the OnePlus, but it offers better software, Alexa, and more. That said, I would recommend the OnePlus Nord watch to those who want an affordable smartwatch with good looks and an array of sports modes. And if you have a OnePlus phone, it is even better. While I used the feature with low expectations, considering the price, the watch performed decently. I tried calling and accepting calls on the watch for a day. While I was indoors, I was able to hear the other person easily on the speaker and the microphone also worked well as the other person was able to listen to me clearly. However, when I tried the feature outdoors in some traffic, I struggled to listen to the other person on the speaker. Similarly, there was a lot of disturbance, and the microphone could not pick up my voice. Overall, it’s a good feature if you wish to use this indoors. Realme Watch 3 review – a worthy budget smartwatch for first timers

While phones, audio and TVs have spent a considerable amount of time in the market, the wearables category is yet to set its foot in. To make that happen, OnePlus recently unveiled its first smartwatch -- the OnePlus Watch -- alongside the OnePlus 9 series smartphones. The company made its debut in the wearable segment with an affordable fitness band aimed at the Indian market, but it didn't deliver the smarts we expected. Hence, our hopes were tied to the OnePlus watch, which has already witnessed a crazy amount of anticipation ever since it appeared. <div type="image" title="CM200591" msid="82052988" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;OnePlus Watch&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> OnePlus Watch brings a balance of fashion, fitness, and lifestyle features to find a place among wearables from tech giants like Apple, Samsung and traditional watchmakers Fossil and others who've entered the smartwatch business. Additionally, it also faces competition from budget-focused brands like Amazfit, Realme and Xiaomi. I've been using the OnePlus Watch for the last five days and so far it seems like a great first step from the company, but with some cracks to fill. What are they? Read on to find out. <h2 style="line-height:1.38;margin-top:0pt;margin-bottom:0pt;">OnePlus Watch price, availability and variants</h2> The standard OnePlus Watch will be available in Midnight Silver or Midnight Black for ₹16,999 in India, €159 in Europe, $159 in the US, $219 in Canada. Apart from the standard edition, there's a Cobalt Limited Edition. It is made of Cobalt alloy with the front display covered with Sapphire Glass. It sports a Vegan leather strap (for India) and leather straps with a butterfly buckle. The price for the Cobalt Limited Edition is yet to be announced. <h2 style="line-height:1.38;margin-top:0pt;margin-bottom:0pt;">Look and feel -- sophisticated but not fresh</h2> <div type="image" title="CM200584" msid="82053004" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;OnePlus Watch&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> OnePlus Watch has a round dial that is said to bring the feel of a traditional watch. The round dial undoubtedly is a go-to choice for those who want a conventional feel, but there's nothing new with the design. It weighs 45 grams without the band and has a 46.4 x 46.4 x 10.9mm without protrusion measured. The dial isn't oversized but it's still big and chunky enough for someone with thin wrists, especially females to dump it right after trying it. However, you won't feel the heft while wearing it generally or even while sleeping. <div type="image" title="CM200594" msid="82061960" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;OnePlus Watch&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> There's nothing as exciting about the OnePlus Watch's design as there was with its first phone or the TV. The stainless steel case on the watch looks and feels premium, but it lacks originality. The dial reminds me of Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 with a little more chunk and the lock mechanism on the band is borrowed from the Apple Watch. What's new is the pattern on the band, and that's it. Maybe I'm asking for too much, but I expected OnePlus to be more creative with the design. <div type="image" title="CM200582" msid="82053023" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;OnePlus Watch&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> Like most wearables, you can swap bands to customise the look with a simple click and pull. You can further customise the look with up to 50 watch faces that look great on the 46mm dial with a 1.39-inch AMOLED display. The display has 454 x 454 pixel resolution with 326ppi density, and the on-paper specs translate quite well in real-world usage as well. The screen looks crisp, vivid and the 2.5D curved glass on top enhances the look even better even when the screen is turned off. <div type="image" title="CM200588" msid="82061972" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;OnePlus Watch&amp;lt;span class=&amp;quot;redactor-invisible-space&amp;quot;&amp;gt;&amp;lt;/span&amp;gt;&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> It has 5 ATM certification, which is the standard on all the flagship watches that makes it water-resistant to up to 50 metres in depth for 10 minutes. <h2 style="line-height:1.38;margin-top:0pt;margin-bottom:0pt;">How is it to use?</h2> Using the OnePlus Watch is where you realise the finesse and fluidity that you expect from a OnePlus product. Right when I was setting it up, I could feel that touch response and the smoothness in the UI is what we're used to experiencing on OnePlus phones. Setting it up is pretty straightforward, you just have to download the OnePlus Health app and follow the instructions on the screen. I paired it with the OnePlus 9R to get the best of the ecosystem that the company is aiming to build. OnePlus has chosen to go with its own version of an open-source real-time operating system (RTOS) instead of Android's Wear OS. As of now, it's only compatible with Android devices, so iOS users can drop the idea of buying it for their iPhone right away. My favourite part of the OnePlus Watch was its UI. It's clean, easy to navigate and stutter-free, making me used to it within a few hours. Even the Health app has a neat and easy to consume interface. To see if the interface is intuitive enough to push towards fitness and motivate you to get out to exert, I'll have to use it at least for a month. But from what I can sense with my limited usage, I like the Fitbit platform to be more logical if you're more concerned about fitness and not the smart features. <div type="image" title="CM200578" msid="82053051" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;OnePlus Watch UI&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> Pressing the top button brings up the menu where you'll find all the features and apps. The button at the bottom opens the workout selection menu on a single press and power option when long-pressed. Other on-screen gestures include swipe left for tiles, swipe up for notification, swipe down for settings, swipe right to go back and more. The point is that all of it works just as it's intended to. Even the Bluetooth calling feature works seamlessly, but note that you can use the speaker only for calls and not listen to songs. Using it as a remote with OnePlus TV is a cool add-on, but it’s not impressive enough to make you buy a OnePlus TV for that. It also gives you 2GB of internal storage to store songs, and listen over Bluetooth headphones or speakers. <div type="image" title="Beats by dre" msid="82053060" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;The music app icon&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> If I have to nitpick something shoddy about the interface then it's the icon pack, where everything seems good until you look at the music icon. The icon is a rip off of the 'Beats by Dre' logo but mirrored. It's not a deal-breaker at all, but do you expect this on a OnePlus product? Hell no! I admired OnePlus for its attention to detail and this is just messed up. What's actually a deal-breaker though, is the missing always-on feature that is a must-have on smartwatches and bands. On top, the maximum screen on time you can set is 8 seconds, which seems like a step to save battery but it kills the user experience instead. It also lacks support for third-party apps as of now, and that really cuts off a chunk of 'smart' from the smartwatch. How well do the features work? The OnePlus Watch does everything you would expect on a smartwatch, but it's still unfurnished. It offers extensive activity and health tracking with features like SpO2 monitoring, 24/7 heart rate monitoring, sleep tracking and more. I had put it against the data I collected with Apple Watch Series 6 and Fitbit Charge 4, and metrics like steps, calories were not the same but close enough to be passed. <div type="image" title="CM200585" msid="82053072" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;OnePlus Watch&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> Working out using the preset modes works perfectly and the interface is also very neat to use and understand. What I really like is there's a mode for cricket as well, which is a rare case on fitness trackers. I did not get a chance to do a full-fledged workout testing due to the rising Covid cases but we'll try and do a detailed fitness test of the OnePlus Watch with the competition soon. All of that is handled by a 402mAh battery, which is claimed to offer two weeks with restricted use and up to a week of power for the most active users. I have only got to use the watch for 4-5 days and the battery has dropped to 60% with minimal use and no workout. <h2 style="line-height:1.38;margin-top:0pt;margin-bottom:0pt;">Is it any good?</h2> The OnePlus Watch misses the opportunity of taking over the spot of the perfect smartwatch for the Android platform. Starting with the bulky design, to the lack of third-party app support and missing always-on feature, it skips some of the most critical checkboxes. It did impress me with the optimisation and the smoothness within the interface, but that alone doesn't give you a solid reason to buy it over its cheaper or expensive alternatives. Even for activity and fitness tracking, some alternatives like Fitbit Versa 3, or the Amazfit GTR 2 can do a better job at offering a more comprehensive fitness-oriented ecosystem with all the necessary features and no major trade-off. While the Oppo Watch and OnePlus Band displayed similar results, there was a variance of around 10% on the Realme Watch S Pro. On a positive note, sleep tracking and blood oxygen tracking was accurate on the Realme Watch S Pro. The heart rate tracking on the device is accurate as well. For verifying blood oxygen statistics, I used a certified oximeter and observed that the readings were similar. Coming to the battery life, the Realme Watch S Pro is equipped with a 390mAh battery. In our usage, we found that it offers excellent battery life and with always-on display turned on during the day, I managed to get around nine days of battery life. Verdict Realme gets plenty of things right with the Watch S Pro. The battery life is very impressive and important features like blood oxygen measurement, heart rate monitoring, and sleep tracking are accurate. Realme needs to fine-tune basics like activity and steps tracking to make this a complete package. Realme’s decision to stay away from Wear OS might be slightly surprising, but the Realme Link app works well and offers enough data points to keep a track of your fitness. Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro – performance and ease of use Samsung’s earbuds are best used with Samsung smartphones, but I faced no issues or gaps in experience when I tested the Galaxy Buds Pro with other smartphones. You can also use the Galaxy Wearable app to tweak the EQ to your liking. There are two features that stand out – Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and Advanced Ambient Sound. ANC works really well when you’re at home or office, cancelling out almost all the sound nearby. While outdoors, though, I was able to hear vehicles zipping past me. The Advanced Ambient Sound mode amplifies nearby voices so you don’t end up ignoring someone talking to you. What makes this even better is that it can work in combination with ANC – the buds detect when you’re talking and switch to Ambient Sound, and back to ANC when you stop talking. Overall, the Galaxy Buds Pro left me impressed with the audio quality, ANC and Ambient Sound. Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro – call quality Call quality is perhaps the most important aspect of truly wireless earbuds. In this regard, the Galaxy Buds Pro offers better performance compared to its predecessors. However, like most wireless earbuds, they also let in some ambient sound. This is a limitation in all wireless earbuds. Samsung has used two external and one internal mic to overcome this to an extent. When indoors, the call quality is excellent. When outdoors, though, there’s some amount of noise that is picked up and transmitted to the other person on the call. Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro – battery life The Galaxy Buds Pro lasted me around 15-16 hours with ANC turned on – this includes the charging capacity of the case. Without ANC, they lasted me for over four days with almost 25 hours of listening time. The case supports quick charging, which is a bonus. It has a USB Type-C port, so it should be compatible with most modern phone cables. Verdict The Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro are Samsung’s finest truly wireless earbuds so far. The build quality, design, performance all justify the ‘Pro’ branding. If you’re envious of the AirPods Pro and want something that offers a similar level of performance on Android smartphones, the Galaxy Buds Pro is what you are looking for.
