But we are now engaged with Everton to take over their shirt. The front of their shirt.</p><p>"They contacted me and have already offered designs with the whole Swissx logo in blue, which I'm not crazy about, but it will look nice."</p><p>David added: "When I first came to England, everybody was supporting Man United and Liverpool, and everybody was red. Being contrary, I liked blue and I liked the logo so randomly I selected Everton to support. So it's sort of a mystical come around."</p><p>Everton is currently sponsored by Sportpesa, however will have a new sponsor next season after agreeing to cut short its contract with the betting firm in February, <a href="https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2020/02/16/everton-terminate-shirt-sponsorship-deal-betting-firm-sportpesa/">according to The Telegraph.</a></p><p>Should Everton partner with Swissx, it would be the first club in Premier League history to have a cannabis-based product as its shirt sponsor.</p><p>Everton did not reply to Insider's request for comment on the possible deal. </p><p>Earlier in the week, <a href="https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/52428730">David told BBC Sport</a> he was looking at acquiring the naming rights to the Camp Nou, because it is a "great stadium" and "seemed like an amazing idea."</p><p>Barcelona denied that there had been any contact between itself and Swissx, however David insists otherwise, and says the Spanish club are being publicly cautious because of the nature of the company.</p><p>"They are just being d----," he said. "My door is open.</p><p>"The bottom line is they are being really precious about this being a cannabis brand. Greece's 'bad boy billionaire' is asking $35 million for this palatial Beverly Hills mansion

<p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table float_right"><div><div class="image on-image"><img src="https://static-ssl.businessinsider.com/image/5452426aecad04876f63f757-1200-924/alki-david-filmon.jpg" border="0" alt="Alki David FilmOn"><p class="source"><span>FilmOn</span></p><p class="caption">Alki David, FilmOn CEO.</p></img></div><p></p></div></div>FilmOn, a free TV streaming service <a href="http://www.forbes.com/sites/shamahyder/2014/10/29/10-companies-changing-the-tv-industry/">highlighted this week by Forbes as one of the 10 companies changing the TV industry</a>, is suing online ad verification service DoubleVerify for blacklisting the site as "copyright infringing" and "adult content."</p>
<p>FilmOn alleges that these classifications could result in the site losing out on millions of dollars of ad revenue from wary advertisers. </p>
<p>FilmOn provides hundreds of live TV channels and on-demand programming to the web, both for free and with some content behind a subscription. It says its current service is within the realm of the <keyword id="6355470" type="CITY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Law">law</keyword> and that it should not be treated as a copyright infringer. The company is also meeting with US regulators the FTC next week to see if it can become recognized as a cable system, which would enable it to pay retransmission fees to broadcasters and stream hundreds more channels for free.</p>
<p>FilmOn CEO, Greek billionaire and media entrepreneur Alki David, told Business Insider it has been so difficult to redress the issue with DoubleVerify, his company was left with no option but to sue in order to raise awareness of the issue to the wider industry and hopefully remove the tarnish from its name in the eyes of potential advertisers.</p>
<p>"To tell you the truth, the reason we brought the suit is to shed light that they are d-----bags, that they are people who throw legitimate companies under the bus in order to generate a body count," David said.</p>
<p>David could not confirm how much in damages FilmOn is seeking from DoubleVerify, but <a href="http://www.scribd.com/doc/244765759/Filmon-com-v-Double-Verify-pdf">the suit, filed in the Superior Court in Los Angeles earlier this week</a>, suggests DoubleVerify's actions have caused "millions of dollars in damages by improperly disrupting FilmOn's efforts to market content it owns."</p>
<p>FilmOn's argument is that DoubleVerify is "willfully misclassifying" FilmOn (and potentially other websites) because it is in DoubleVerify's business interests to do. DoubleVerify makes the majority of its money by running analyses of websites for brands and agencies to ensure those websites don't house any fraudulent non-human traffic (otherwise known as bots), that they are safe for brands to advertise against (no porn, pirated, or other nefarious material), and that ads are in a prominent enough position that people will see them.</p>
<p>A DoubleVerify spokeswoman sent Business Insider this statement:</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">"DoubleVerify delivers impartial, industry-accredited information for the world's largest brands to provide transparency and accountability in online <keyword id="35666" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="advertising">advertising</keyword>. Transparency threatens those companies whose business models are predicated on practices that some advertisers may naturally want to avoid. We firmly believe that the FilmOn lawsuit is without merit and we will vigorously defend ourselves against frivolous attempts to stifle an advertiser's ability to make fully-informed marketing decisions."</p>
<p>The suit also alleges DoubleVerify is producing malware, bad software that can be designed to scrape people's computers for data and for other malicious purposes. FilmOn says it has reported this to the FBI in the US and Scotland Yard in the UK.</p>
<p>In response to the malware allegation, DoubleVerify says:</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">"Further, it is irresponsible to suggest that a third party verification service such as ours is directly supporting the same kind of malicious activity that we are focused on eliminating. All of the DoubleVerify verification practices and processes are continuously accredited for their accuracy and integrity by the MRC (Media Rights Council). Since our company started more than 6 years ago this is the first suit like this we have ever received. In the past year, several of the largest movie studios and TV broadcasters have sued FilmOn for the illegal distribution of their copyrighted materials online.</p>
<p><a href="http://blogs.wsj.com/cmo/2014/10/29/web-video-distributor-filmon-sues-doubleverify-while-charging-firm-with-distributing-malware/">Separately, the Wall Street Journal reported this week</a> that AOL video exchange Adap.tv is one of the more prominent advertising clients that recently stopped working with FilmOn. The report suggests Adapt.tv's checks found that FilmOn was disseminating "bot" traffic - a practice bad publishers use to inflate their traffic in the hope of hiking up their ad rates.</p>
<p>David dismisses these claims as "absolute rubbish" and says that while FilmOn works with a number of affiliate partners, it would never sell on illegitimate traffic to advertisers - and that the company still has a partnership with Adap.tv. FilmOn also works with a research partner, MDot, which flags up potential bots, and issues can be resolved "within minutes," FilmOn commercial director Jill Brook told Business Insider.</p>
<p>Alongside FilmOn, David - heir to the Coca Cola Hellenic shipping and bottling company -also owns home shopping website 9021go.com, the BattleCam.com p2p streaming site and modeling agency Independent Models.</p>

The Border Force glance at your passport and wave you on," said Higgins.</p><p>"All you can do is check that they have the right documents to prove they are EU citizens, you can't even spend a lot of time checking whether their documents are false. You are getting people coming in as part of the huge flow of migrants, there are terrorists mixing in with asylum seekers." </p><p>Higgins' comments echoed what happened in Paris, France in November last year where 130 people were killed in gun and bomb attacks on a sports stadium, bars and a concert hall. It was the deadliest militant assault in Europe since 2004.</p><p><a href="http://uk.businessinsider.com/paris-attacker-syrian-migrant-2015-11">One of the bombers who carried out the Paris terrorist attacks entered Europe as a Syrian migrant</a>, according to foreign officials.</p><p>The group of experts cited EU agency Frontex data to highlight how migrant activity is alarming for Britain.</p><p>It said in the letter to The Telegraph that "EU member states reported a record 1.82 million illegal border crossings last year - six times more than in 2014. <p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table float_right"><div><div class="image on-image"><img src="https://static-ssl.businessinsider.com/image/55598ff5dd08959b408b45b5-1200-924/alexis-tsipras-39.jpg" border="0" alt="Alexis Tsipras"><p class="source"><span>REUTERS/Alkis Konstantinidis</span></p><p class="caption">Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras delivers a speech during the Economist Conference on "Europe: The comeback, Greece: How resilient?" in Athens May 15, 2015.</p></img></div><p></p></div></div>Two cash crises are about to come to a head in Greece, with signals that both the financial system and the public coffers are about to run dry.</p><p>Athens barely made its latest payment to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and only managed to do so when the government discovered that it could use a reserve account that it wasn't aware of, according to the Greek media.</p><p>Kathimerini, a Greek daily newspaper, <a href="http://www.ekathimerini.com/4dcgi/_w_articles_wsite1_1_17/05/2015_550106">reports that Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras wrote to the IMF's Christine Lagarde</a> warning that Greece would not be able to make its May payment, worth €762 million ($871 million, £554.2 million).</p><p>Pension and civil servant pay packets are due at the end of the month, and based on this news Athens may struggle to pay them. Even if it does manage that, in <strong>on June 5 the country owes another €305 million</strong> to the IMF.</p><p><strong>In the two weeks following June 5 there are another three payments, bringing the June total to the IMF to over €1.5 billion.</strong></p><p>Here's what's coming: </p><p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image"><img src="https://static-ssl.businessinsider.com/image/55598ff5dd08959b408b45b4-1200-522/greek june payments hsbc.png" border="0" alt="Greek june payments HSBC"><p class="source"><span>HSBC, Bloomberg, IMF, Business Insider</span></p><p class="caption">Greece may make some of its looming payments, but in June more than €1.5 billion is due to the International Monetary Fund.</p></img></div><p></p></div></div></p><p>If Greece couldn't manage the €762 million payment in May without the IMF's reserve account, it seems likely that the government will struggle to make payments twice as large after another round of pension and salary payments. </p><p>But the public finances are not the only problem - pressure is building in the financial sector too. <a href="http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2015-05-17/greek-endgame-nears-for-tsipras-as-bank-collateral-hits-buffers">According to Bloomberg</a>, pressures collateral is drying up there and the situation also seems likely to meet a head in the next few weeks. </p><p style="padding-left: 30px;">"The point where collateral is exhausted is likely to be near," JPMorgan Chase Bank analysts Malcolm Barr and David Mackie wrote in a note to clients May 15. "Pressures on central government cash flow, pressures on the banking system, and the political timetable are all converging on late May-early June"...</p><p style="padding-left: 30px;">"We are in an endgame," ECB Executive Board member Yves Mersch said in an interview with Luxembourg radio 100.7 broadcast Saturday. "This situation is not tenable."</p><p>The government seems to have made little progress towards a deal to unlock the next tranche of bailout cash, too.</p><p>A leaked IMF document seen over the weekend <a href="http://blogs.channel4.com/paul-mason-blog/imf-leak-signals-progress-greece-threat-default-june/3695">by the UK's Channel 4 News</a> confirms <a href="http://uk.businessinsider.com/report-the-imfs-europe-chief-says-he-cant-talk-yanis-varoufakis-greece-default-economics-2015-5">reports by Greek journalist Michael Ignatiou</a> last week  that while tentative compromises are in the making for a crucial bankruptcy law and some tax issues, there is still a gulf between Athens and its creditors on pensions and the labour market.</p><p>The document seen by Channel 4 describes the labour market as "the area where in the past most progresses were achieved." In short, it's no small speed-bump for a deal, but a major roadblock. Without a solution, an agreement seems unlikely.</p><p>There's only one hope for the government at the moment. Figures from Kathimerini last week suggested the government had <a href="http://www.ekathimerini.com/4dcgi/_w_articles_wsite2_1_12/05/2015_549937">managed to drain about €600 million euros from local government and other state funds</a>. That boosts the government's ability to pay, but it's far short of the €2 billion that it was initially suggested the move could raise. In addition, average hourly earnings are anticipated to have climbed 0.3% month-over-month and 2.2% year-over-year while the average workweek held at 34.5 hours. The data will cross the wires at 8:30 a.m. ET.</p><p><strong><a href="http://www.businessinsider.com.au/everything-you-need-to-know-about-celebrating-chinese-new-year-2016-2">The Chinese New Year is coming</a>.</strong> The Chinese New Year begins on Monday, February 8. The week-long holiday will keep markets across Asia shuttered for at least a couple of days. Mainland China and Taiwan will see their markets closed for the entire week as they bring in the Year of the Monkey. China's Shanghai Composite (-0.6%) fell on its last trading day during the Year of the Goat.</p><p><strong><a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/obama-to-propose-provocative-new-tax-on-oil-2016-2">President Barack Obama wants a $10 per barrel tax on oil</a>.</strong> Obama is set to release his new budget plan next week, and it will contain a $10 per barrel tax on each barrel of oil sold to promote investment in clean transportation projects. The proposal is expected to be met with strong objections in the Republican-controlled US Congress.</p><p><strong><a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/eu-referendum-yougov-poll-brexit-versus-stay-feb-3-4-2016-2?r=UK&amp;IR=T">Support for a Brexit is gaining momentum</a>.</strong> The latest YouGov poll showed 45% are in favor of a Brexit while only 36% are opposed. The case for leaving the EU has gained support following UK Prime Minister David Cameron releasing his draft EU deal earlier this week. Specifically, people are pointing to the sections related to immigration for the shift in support.</p><p><strong><a href="http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/currency/12140736/Pound-could-crash-by-20pc-if-UK-votes-for-Brexit-warns-Goldman-Sachs.html">Goldman Sachs warns the British pound could plunge on a Brexit</a>.</strong> The Telegraph reports, Goldman Sachs thinks the British pound could lose 20% of its value if the UK votes to leave the European Union. The investment bank pointed to the UK's large current account deficit as a "source of vulnerability." According to Goldman a drop to 1.15 or 1.20 cannot be ruled out. Currently the British pound is down 0.4% at 1.4527.</p><p><strong><a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/linkedin-earnings-q4-2016-2">LinkedIn is getting crushed after giving brutal guidance</a>.</strong> The professional networking site said it expects <span>first-quarter adjusted earnings per share (EPS) of $0.55, which is well shy of the $0.75 expected by the Bloomberg consensus. Revenue guidance was also light, coming out at between $3.6 billion and $3.65 billion, compared Wall Street expectations of $3.9 billion. As for the fourth quarter, LinkedIn </span>announced adjusted earnings of $0.94 per share, easily beating the $0.78 that was anticipated. Revenue surged 34% to $861.9 million, which exceeded the expected $857.4 million. The stock is down 30% in pre-market trade.</p><p><strong><a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/r-news-corps-revenue-fall-for-fourth-quarter-in-a-row-2016-2?IR=T">News Corp disappointed</a>.</strong> The media giant earned an adjusted $0.20 per share, missing the Bloomberg consensus by a penny. Revenue fell 4.3% to $2.16 billion, but that was good enough to beat the $2.13 billion Wall Street was expecting. Reuters says News Corp's core media business, including Dow Jones and the Wall Street Journal, contributed to the slump.</p><p><strong><a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/profit-fell-more-than-50-at-bnp-paribas-frances-biggest-bank-2016-2?r=UK&amp;IR=T">France's biggest bank saw a huge drop in profit</a>.</strong> BNP Paribas' fourth quarter profit plunged 52%. Income at the French investment bank <span>€665 million from more than <span>€1 billion a year earlier. The disappointing results come as the bank was forced to write-down the value of its assets at its BNL, its Italian unit. BNP has announced it's restructuring its investment bank division and increasing focus on wealth management.</span></span></p><p><strong>Stock markets around the world are mixed.</strong> Japan's Nikkei (-1.3%) lagged in Asia as Hong Kong's Hang Seng (+0.6%) outperformed. In Europe, Spain's IBEX (+0.8%) leads and Germany's DAX (-0.2%) underperforms. S&amp;P 500 futures are higher by 1.75 points at 1909.50.</p><p><strong>US economic data is heavy. </strong>In addition to the jobs report and everything that comes along with it, the trade balance will also be released at 8:30 a.m. ET. Consumer credit ends this week's data with its 3 p.m. ET release. <p><span style="font-size: 15px; line-height: 1.5em;"><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table float_right click-to-enlarge"><div><div class="image on-image"><a title_source="The Economist" title_caption="" class="zoomin" href="https://static-ssl.businessinsider.com/image/54e0e26569beddd446063da4-960/20150214_eud001.jpg"><span class="sprites click-to-enlarge-icon" title="Click to enlarge"></span><img src="https://static-ssl.businessinsider.com/image/54e0e26569beddd446063da4-595-335/20150214_eud001.jpg" border="0" alt="20150214_eud001" /></a><p class="source"><span>The Economist</span></p></div><p></p></div></div>FROM Washington to Athens, politicians and economists who often have little in common all agree that Germany under Chancellor Angela Merkel is largely wrong about economic policy. </span></p><p><span style="font-size: 15px; line-height: 1.5em;">Germany's apparent economic strengths--the lowest unemployment in two decades; steady, if low, growth; a balanced federal budget--mask weaknesses and policy errors, they say.</span></p><p>A first mistake is to insist that troubled euro-zone countries such as Greece not only make structural reforms to their economies, but simultaneously cut spending and borrowing (depressing demand).</p><p>But a second is domestic. Given low interest rates, now would be a golden opportunity to borrow and invest more at home, boosting the economy and providing a Keynesian stimulus to the entire sluggish euro zone. Instead, Germany is investing less than in the past and less than most other countries (see chart).</p><p>Raising investment could also deal with another imbalance in the German economy: its current-account surplus, the largest in the world, which has just set another record in 2014 of EUR220 billion ($250 billion), over 7% of GDP. By definition, this surplus measures the excess of savings over investment. Invest more, and the surplus would shrink or even disappear.</p><p>Such thinking has fans even in Germany. Marcel Fratzscher at the German Institute for Economic Research in Berlin thinks that German strength is an "illusion" given its large "investment gap". Public investment in Germany--shared by the federal, state and local governments--has fallen from 6% of GDP in 1970 (in the West) to 2% now. Roads, bridges, broadband internet and much else could do with more money.</p><p>The German Marshall Fund has said that 40% of bridges in Germany are in "critical condition". The Cologne Institute for Economic Research, another think-tank, reckons that the capital stock of German machines has not risen in real terms since 2008. Markus Kerber, director of the German Federation of Industries, a trade association, says that a "long-term investment-offensive is needed" to sustain growth.</p><p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"><img src="https://static-ssl.businessinsider.com/image/54e0e3416bb3f71f17c90b40-888-413/screenshot 2015-02-15 13.14.14.png" border="0" alt="Screenshot 2015 02 15 13.14.14"><p class="source"><span>The Economist</span></p></img></div><p></p></div></div></p><p>But other German economists are sceptical about claims of underinvestment. Christoph Schmidt, chairman of the German Council of Economic Experts, which advises the government, thinks published ratios of investment as a percentage of GDP can be misleading when compared both across time and between countries.</p><p>France, for example, has a lot of public housing. Germany does not, and this skews the numbers. Reunification in 1990 caused a one-off investment boom in both parts of the country. And whereas other countries had property crashes, Germany did not. In that case, at least, skimping on housebuilding was sensible.</p><p>Yet the trend of declining public and private investment remains clear. A recalculation to fit European Union norms lifts Germany's investment ratio from 17% to 19%, by including companies' research and development spending. But that is still low. Why is this?</p><p>Most investing is done by private firms. But German ones have for years preferred to invest abroad, not at home. Mr Fratzscher regrets this: he reckons that German investment abroad has yielded an annual return of 10% over 20 years whereas foreign investment in Germany has made more like 15%.</p><p>The main reason for low domestic investment, says Michael Hüther, the Cologne institute's director, is uncertainty and nervousness over the future. The banner reads "Merkel Out" in German.</p></img></div><p></p></div></div></p><p>More recently worries about Russia, which is more commercially entangled with Germany than with other big Western economies, have unsettled the business climate. But the biggest problem for many businessmen may be benighted government policies.</p><p>These start with Germany's "energy transition," a plan to exit simultaneously from fossil fuels and nuclear energy. The main policy is a huge subsidy to solar and wind. The surcharge that many firms have to pay on a unit of energy is larger than the entire cost of electricity paid by firms in America. Half the firms polled by Mr Hüther's institute claim that this makes any new investment unattractive.</p><p>Many also complain, in a country that has an ageing, shrinking population, about a shortage of skilled workers despite Germany's admired apprenticeship system. Mrs Merkel's government, under the influence of her Social Democratic coalition partners, has made things worse by letting some workers retire at 63, rather than at 67, as previously envisaged.</p><p>In the housing market, owners are put off investment by a cap on rents in many cities. On energy, even if the government insists on sticking to its emissions targets, it could leave the choice of technology to the market.</p><p>The pension age could be raised again; the minimum wage should be lower. And public investment should be raised. Gustav Horn, head of the Macroeconomic Policy Institute, part of a foundation with links to the trade unions, reckons that a 1% increase in euro-zone public investment would boost GDP by 1.6%.</p><p>Yet Germany led resistance to calls for more public money to be put into the European Commission's planned investment programme. At home it is constrained by the constitutional "debt brake", adopted in 2009, which requires state governments to balance their budgets by 2020 and the federal one to do so by 2016.</p><p>Wolfgang Schäuble, the finance minister, has beaten the timetable, balancing the budget in 2014. He and Mrs Merkel are proud of the "black zero", which demonstrates that Germans sticks by the rules, as others should.
