Forging company <keyword id="2930492" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Alicon-Castalloys">Alicon Castalloys</keyword> jumped nearly 13 percent as its <keyword id="30335" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="Shares">shares</keyword> went above a crucial technical level on very heavy volumes. 
 
Alicon traded above the 20-day moving average on the National Stock Exchange. More than 26,000 shares changed hands on the NSE in comparison with an average traded volume of 2,000 shares on a daily basis over the past month. 
 
Alicon, which makes aluminium forgings for the auto industry, recently announced a dividend of 3 rupees a share. The company reported sales of 143 crore rupees for the quarter ended March compared with 133 crore rupees for the 3 months ending December. 
Net Profit surged to 6.9 crore rupees versus 4.2 crore rupees over the same two comparative periods. 
 
Alicon gained 33.15 rupees to trade at 296.85 rupees on the NSE.

Major Indian indices shaved off between 2-6.7 percent on Friday as traders pressed in heavy short sales once vote counting in the UK showed Britons has voted to exit the <keyword id="6355110" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="European-Union">European Union</keyword> by a slim majority. As a consequence, riskier assets fell off the cliff as safe haven buying was seen in Gold and Silver. 
 
Here is a snapshot of the futures market on the National Stock Exchange: The British Pound fell 10 percent against major currencies. Gold futures rocketed while crude oil futures dropped 6 percent. Major Asian indices were down 2.1-8 percent. 
 
To gauge the extent of sell-off there were no gainers on the 30-share Sensex, the 51-share Nifty and in the universe of 179 futures in the derivatives market.

stock market in complete red since Brexit decision. Not a single gainer on the
charts

The <keyword id="6354813" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="nifty">Nifty</keyword> had a flat start on Tuesday as traders grappled with a mixed set of overseas cues which included a 2 percent devaluation of the Yuan by the Chinese government. Infosys and State Bank of India were in heavy demand on the Index.

	 
	
		
			
				
					The Nifty fell 16 points to 8,509 in early deals. The Advance-Decline Ratio was at 19/31 with State Bank of India, Vedanta, Infosys, Punjab National Bank and Bank of Baroda being the top five gainers. Metals remained under pressure on fears of accelerated Chinese dumping, therefore, Tata Steel and NMDC led the top losers with Asian Paints, BPCL and BHEL also figuring on the loser's list on the Index.
				 
				
					Major indices were painted with a light shade of red. The CNX 100, CNX 200 and CNX 500 Indexes showed bit losses early deals. The Bank Nifty fell 8 points in initial trades. Sectoral indices such as CNX Energy, CNX Finance and CNX FMCG Indices slipped in trade as well on the National Stock Exchange. The CNX PSU Bank Index was the lone gainer in the sectoral indices space.
				
					
						
							 
							
								And on the Bombay Stock Exchange, the <keyword id="6484188" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Sensex">Sensex</keyword> fell 47 points to 28,055 points in initial trades on Tuesday. As a consequence, the Advance-Decline Ratio stood at 10/20. Hindalco, Tata Steel and BHEL lost ground on the Index while Infosys, Maruti, TCS and Dr. Reddy's were major gainers.
							 
							
								The Futures and Options market was also on the backfoot with Jindal Steel, UPL, Britannia and Biocon showing smart uptrend versus Jain Irrigation, Sun TV, Ceat and Engineers India that fell. The Advance-Decline Ratio, meanwhile, stood at 67/91.
							
								 
								The broader market, too, was dominated by the bulls in the first half hour of trade with 895 shares rising compared with 387 that fell.
							 
							
								Alicon Castalloys, Britannia and Maruti struck fresh highs in the first 20 minutes of trade and eClerx, Ashiana Housing and Seamec Ltd. figured in the list of volume buzzers on the NSE.

Here's how the Markets opened today

The <keyword id="6354813" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="nifty">Nifty</keyword> ended the week with a bang as traders bought into beaten down valuations and bottom fished for gains on Friday after global markets stabilised.
 

	The Nifty surged 163 points, or 2 percent, close at 8,519, its day's high, as the bulls snatched momentum back from the bears. The Nifty's Advance-Decline ratio was a strong 47/3. Punjab National Bank, Zee Entertainment, Yes Bank, Bank of Baroda and Kotak Bank were the five top gainers on the Index. The 3 stocks to cede ground were Dr. Reddy's, BPCL and Infosys on the Nifty where Axis Bank was the most traded index stock worth 424 crore rupees.
 

	Adani Ports and Glenmark were in very heavy demand on the NSE thanks to their pending inclusion in the MSCI India Index.
 

	Bulls took complete charge of the wider market as well. Major indices such as CNX 100, CNX 200, CNX Midcap, CNX Small Cap and CNX 500 closed with gains amounting to 1.9-2.1 percent.
 

	
		
			The Bank Nifty managed to end at the high point of the day, up 552 points at 18,728 on murmurs that the government will recapitalise some PSU lenders today evening. The CNX PSU Bank Index surged 4.6 percent as well. The trend in other sectoral indices was strong. The CNX Pharma, CNX PSU Bank and CNX Auto Indexes posted gains of between 0.6-8.5 percent. The CNX Realty Index was the star of the tradeon Friday.
		 
		
			On the Bombay Stock Exchange, the <keyword id="6484188" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Sensex">Sensex</keyword> jumped 518 points, or 1.9 percent, to end the week at 28,067 points. Vedanta, ICICI Bank, SBI, RIL and HDFC posted smart gains on the Index while Infosys and Dr. Reddy fell in trade. Consequently, the Advance-Decline Ratio was a strong 28/2 on the Sensex on which State Bank of India was the top traded counter worth 54 crore rupees.
		 
		
			
				
					Bulls resumed charge in the wider market after six days of negative advance-decline ratios. Today, 1,789 stocks gained ground versus 1,058 that fell below Thursday's closing prices.
				 
				
					The trend was bullish as well in the derivatives space with Nifty Futures closing at 8,545, up 164 points. DLF, HDIL and PNB were the top gainers in the futures space and all 18 sectors reported a rise in prices coupled with a gain in Open Interest. The Realty, Banking and Media sectors were the top gainers. The Advance-Decline Ratio was at 149/13 in the futures and Options market. 
				 
				
					
						Strong earnings were reported by Power Finance Corporation, Amara Raja Batteries, Hindalco and BPCL. Adani Ports, Alicon Castalloys, Jindal Poly Films and Maruti hit fresh highs on the NSE and SKF India, ICRA and KNR Constructions made it to the top volume buzzers list on the exchange.

Here's how the day was at the Markets

Stocks <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Bloodbath-in-the-Indian-markets-as-Brexit-causes-panic/articleshow/52895611.cms">suffered massively </a>on Friday as the UK voted to exit the European Union stoking widespread selling in the British Pound, Asian and European equities. Gold Futures <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Britains-relations-with-EU/articleshow/52897467.cms">surged </a>to two-year highs on safe haven buying and the referendum claimed its first political victim: UK's Prime Minister said he would <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/CAMERON-TO-RESIGN/articleshow/52898635.cms">resign</a>. 
 
Britain's David Cameron favoured staying back in the economic block and the shock reaction saw major European indices dropping as much as 11 percent. Falls to the extent of 3-7 percent were seen in Asian indices. <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Market-opener/articleshow/52895333.cms">Indian markets </a>plunged at the start with the <keyword id="6354813" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="nifty">Nifty</keyword> dropping more than 5 percent. At one stage there wasn't a single gainer in the Nifty 51, the <keyword id="6484188" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Sensex">Sensex</keyword> 30 and the universe of 178 futures in the derivatives market. However, short covering and buying at lower levels saw relatively lesser losses on these benchmarks.

Some European indices bounced back sharply. The FTSE 100 was down 10 percent at start and later traded just 4.5 percent lower. Similar rebounds were seen across other major benchmarks. Some investors are pricing in a depreciated Pound boosting UK's exports and giving a fillip to British goods as they would be relatively cheaper compared with their European rivals.

Locally, some traders took advantage of the dip and bought heavily into strong private sector lenders such as IndusInd Bank and Yes Bank. Gold traded at 31,222 rupees for a 10 gm lot, its highest since June 2014. 
 
Meanwhile, the Nifty closed with losses of 189 points at 8,081 points. It recovered from an intra-day low of 7,928 points. Stocks that fell included Larsen &amp; Toubro, Maruti and Yes Bank. They dropped between 2.2-7.1 percent. Sun Pharma added 0.5 percent on the Nifty on news of a buy back of shares at 950 rupees each. Bajaj Auto, Mahindra &amp; Mahindra and GAIL rose modestly as well. 
 
Tata Motors, State Bank and ICICI Bank took the first three slots of the list of top traded stocks by value. All three shares lost ground. Reliance Communications was present on the list of most active securities. 
 
The Nifty 100, 200 and 500 indices plunged sharply in early deals, in line with the overall market, but recouped a large part of their losses. They ended with a red tick of nearly 2 percent each. 
 
Major sectoral indices dropped between 1.3-3.8 percent at close. 
 
The Sensex ended 604 points down at 26,398 points on the Bombay Stock Exchange, bouncing off a low of 25,920. Tata Motors, Maruti and Sun Pharma were the top traded shares on the index. Bajaj Auto was the top gainer along with GAIL and Asian Paints. The remaining 27 stocks ended lower, among them ONGC, Axis Bank and TCS. 
 
Overall, the Sensex and the Nifty recovered about 2 percent from intra-day lows while the bounce was sharper on the Bank Nifty, which rose about 3 percent from its lowest point of the day. 
 
Overall, the bears may have retained control of Dalal Street but the story of the day is the sharp recovery in major indices from intra-day lows. Even though the Advance-Decline Ratio in the wider stood at 1/4, its far better than the 1/12 in morning trade. 
 
Auto ancillary stocks figured on the on the list of volume buzzers on the National Stock Exchange. Hence, Omax Autos, Alicon Castalloys and Mahindra CIE Automotive saw heavy volumes. 
 
Gold jewellery seller Titan Company was among the very few stocks hit fresh highs in the first half hour of trade on the National Stock Exchange.
