Hyundai, which occupies the second spot this month sold 49,013 cars, down from 50,701 cars sold in July 2023, recording a 3% decline in sales. Tata Motors sold 44,725 vehicles in July 2024 as compared to 47,628 units sold in July 2023, recording a 6.1% decline in sales. Mahindra and Mahindra reported a 15% increase in passenger vehicle sales in the domestic market to 41,623 vehicles in July 2024 compared to 36,205 vehicles in July 2023. Kia reported a 2.5% increase in sales with 20,507 cars sold in July 2024, up from 20,002 units sold in July 2023. Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Hyundai and other automakers report a decline in sales in July 2024

<ul><li>The central government has extended the 'Electric Mobility Promotion Scheme 2024 until September 30.</li><li>A statement by the ministry on Friday added that the total outlay of the scheme has been enhanced to ₹778 crore.</li><li>It was originally set to run from April 1 to July 31, 2024, with a total outlay of ₹500 crores.</li></ul> In a boost to electric vehicle (EV) sellers and those looking to purchase EVs, the central government on Friday extended the Electric Mobility Promotion Scheme 2024 (<keyword id="20952501" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="emps-2024" source="Orion">EMPS 2024</keyword>). The <keyword id="48070" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="emps" source="Orion">EMPS</keyword> 2024, which was launched by the Ministry of Heavy Industries on March 13, 2024, through a gazette notification was originally set to run from April 1st to July 31st, 2024. The scheme has now received a two-month extension and will continue till September 30, 2024. In addition to this extension, the government has also increased the outlay for this scheme from the initial ₹500 crore to ₹778 crore. <h2>What is EMPS 2024?</h2>The EMPS scheme replaced the earlier Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles in India (FAME) scheme. The EMPS scheme was a stop-gap measure after the end of the FAME-II scheme and was expected to be replaced by a new FAME-III scheme in the Budget 2024-25. However, as there was no consensus on a new scheme among the stakeholders, the government has decided to temporarily extend EMPS 2024 while a new FAME scheme is announced. Under the EMPS 2024 scheme, customers can avail a subsidy of up to ₹10,000 for two-wheeler EVs, up to ₹25,000 for a small three-wheeler EV, and up to ₹50,000 for large three-wheeler EVs. The ministry added that the scheme now targets supporting 560,789 electric vehicles, comprising 500,080 electric two-wheelers and 60,709 electric three-wheelers. The subsidy under the EMPS 2024 scheme will only be available for EVs equipped with advanced batteries. The company recorded a 16% market share in terms of revenue, down from 17% in Q2 2023. Apple is second in terms of market share, recording a market share of 16% in Q2 2024, down from 17 % in Q2 2023. Apple recorded a 42% share in overall revenue in Q2 2024, down from 45% in Q2 2023. “There were worries that iPhone volumes would disappoint after North American carriers reported record low upgrade rates and lower iPhone sales. We estimate Apple iPhone volumes were flat and revenue declined by 1% YoY despite Pro series sales growth. Apple’s China sales was down 6.5%, but it could have been a lot worse. MapMyIndia has claimed that Ola Electric has breached its license agreement. The electric two-wheeler maker had partnered with MapMyIndia to offer navigational services on its electric scooters. <h2>Data copied</h2>MapMyIndia has claimed that Ola Electric has duplicated the API (application programming interface) and SDKs (software development kits) from the company’s proprietary sources to build Ola Maps. <div type="Article" hostid="261" msid="112039063" title="Pixel 9 series design and specs revealed ahead of launch next month" mstype="2" mssubtype="0"></div> “It is firmly stated that our client’s exclusive data has been copied/derived by you to further your illegal motive and for your unjust commercial gains,” MapMyIndia reportedly said in its notice. Further, the company dismissed Ola Electric’s claim of developing the map data for Ola Maps from Open Map. “Your assertion that you have developed API and map data/Ola Maps solely through open map is factually incorrect and not tenable,” the company added. The company has said that the agreement signed between the two companies prohibits co-mingling and reverse engineering under the Intellectual Property laws. “By indulging in such unscrupulous and illegal activities, you have acted in blatant defiance of the terms and conditions of the agreement and have further infringed the copyright vested exclusively in our client pertaining to the source code,” the notice reads. Ola Electric in a statement to Business Insider India has denied the allegations. “Ola Electric wishes to address the recent claims made by CE Info Systems Limited (“CE Info”) in relation to the alleged issues with Ola Maps vis-à-vis MapMyIndia and reported in news media. We would like to state unequivocally that these allegations are false, malicious and misleading. Ola Electric stands by the integrity of its business practices. We will suitably respond to the notice shortly," an Ola Electric spokesperson said in a statement to Business Insider India. The Delhi-based Geotech startup has said that it will initiate appropriate civil and criminal legal action against Ola Electric. Ola Electric IPO – MapMyIndia accuses company of stealing map data days before IPO opens

Around 26 per cent of <keyword id="19896991" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="cancer" source="keywords">cancer</keyword> patients in <keyword id="19895063" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="India" source="keywords">India</keyword> have tumours in the head and neck, and there is an upward trend of such cases in the country, a study has found. The findings of the study, conducted on 1,869 cancer patients across the country, were released on the World <keyword id="20775483" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="head-and-neck-cancer" source="keywords">Head and Neck Cancer</keyword> Day observed on Saturday. Cancer Mukt Bharat Foundation, a Delhi-based non-profit organisation, conducted the study by collating data from calls received on its helpline number from March 1 to June 30. Dr. Ashish Gupta, a senior oncologist who is heading the Cancer Mukt Bharat Campaign in India, said that India is seeing surge in head and neck cancer cases, especially among young men, due to increased <keyword id="20681485" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="tobacco-consumption" source="keywords">tobacco consumption</keyword> and human papillomavirus (HPV) infection. "Around 80-90 pc of oral cancer patients have been found to use tobacco in some form, be it smoking or chewing. Most of the head and neck cancer are preventable, unlike other cancers for which the reason is unknown. It is a preventable cancer that can be prevented with lifestyle modification. "There is a need to raise awareness to quit tobacco and early check-ups for early pickup of the disease," Gupta said. In India, nearly two-thirds of cancer cases are detected late likely due to low adoption of proper screening, he said. Gupta added that the Cancer Mukt Bharat campaign aims to reduce the incidence and impact of cancer on individuals and communities through education and early detection. "If found early in stages one or two, most head and neck cancers are curable in more than 80 pc of patients. In the field of cancer treatment, we get new medicines almost every week which can treat cancer in better way leading to better outcomes and good quality of life. "A combination of surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and immunotherapy can be used for treating head and neck cancer. Latest cancer treatment has evolved to prioritize not just curing the disease, but also ensuring a good quality of life for survivors," he said. Under the Cancer Mukt Bharat Campaign, a free national helpline number (93-555-20202) was launched recently, which is operational from 10 am to 5 pm from Monday to Saturday. Cancer patients can call on this number to speak to leading oncologists directly or even do a video call to discuss about their treatment without paying any fees. Head and neck cancer was closely followed by gastrointestinal cancers which was 16 per cent. Fufteen per cent cancers in India re breast cancers and and blood cancers make up 9 per cent of them. These data are in line with the latest GLOBOCAN data -- a database that gives global cancer statistics -- on India. GLOBOCON data is part of International Agency for Research on Cancer's Global Cancer Observatory. India is expected to have 2.1 million new cancer cases by 2040, a big jump from the numbers in 2020, as per a recent GLOBOCAN report. Cancers in head and neck rising, account for 26% cases in India: Study

Across many IPL seasons, I noted your desire to win, your assistance to younger players and your drive to extract the best out of your team on the field. "I know how dedicated and passionate you are about Indian cricket and I am sure you will bring all these qualities into the new job," he said. The 51-year-old, however, offered a word of caution to his one-time teammate about living under constant scrutiny. "As you know, the expectations will be high and the scrutiny will be intense," he said, also reminding that there will be overwhelming support for him from all quarters.
