The movie starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif will be released on March 24, while the official trailer was released yesterday (March 2). A teaser for the movie starring Ranveer Singh, Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar released in December 2018, creating a lot of hype for the movie.

 A four-minute trailer of the Rohit Shetty film in association with Karan Johar’s Dharma Production opens up with Ajay Devgn narrating the terrorist attacks that happened in Mumbai, starting from 1993 serial blast to Mumbai 26/11 attack. Akshay Kumar, the lead in the trailer is seen as <keyword id="8193880" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="veer-sooryavanshi">Veer Sooryavanshi</keyword>, who is protecting Mumbai from the attacks – the main plot of the movie. Ajay Devgn in his narration calls Veer Sooryavanshi, a ‘yodha’, who is a part of Mumbai’s Anti-Terrorism Squad and has been assigned a job to stop the attackers from terrorising Mumbai. Kumar is shown as a super cop – tackling rogues around the city while also managing to spend time with his family. Kaif is seen playing as the wife of the super cop in the short trailer. Sooryavanshi is the fourth movie in the ‘cop’ series from action director Rohit Shetty. In 2018, Ranveer Singh played the role of a police officer in Simmba, which also starred Sara Ali Khan. In 2011, Devgn played the cop role in <keyword id="2230269" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Singham-Returns">Singham Returns</keyword> which made whooping ₹216 crore at the Box Office. ‘Rustom’, which is directed by Tinu Suresh Desai, is based on a real-life story of K.M Nanavati vs Maharashtra. 
 
The story of Nanavati is quite thrilling and interesting on how the Naval officer killed his wife’s lover Prem Ahuja and got away with it. The story dates back to 1959, which gained international prominence too. 
 
The movie ‘Rustom’ is going to be an interesting watch as the trailers also look promising. The music of the movie is already a hit and both, Akshay and Ileana look straight from a classic novel.

Twitter users have pointed out that it’s all too common to see Bollywood — even Hollywood for that matter — using feminism as nothing more than a marketing tool to inadvertently serve the patriarchal interests of the film industry. The movie which was released a week ago, grossed ₹126.65 crore as of now. It had collected ₹7 crore more on its first day than Good Newwz but might struggle to retain audience amidst competition. However, as of now Good Newwz’s total collection is half the business of the Khan movie. “The trend over the weekend is strong and the film (Good Newwz) should be able to hold up well on Monday and then take benefit of the holiday factor on Tuesday and Wednesday,” reported Box office India. Police, protests and Salman Khan Though Akshay and Salman starrers did not release on the same day, second week collection is key to Dabangg’s success. Its first week earnings were marred by anti CAA protests across the country - replete with section 144, bundhs and internet shutdowns. Dabangg3 which earned ₹73 crore on its first weekend, could have earned ₹85 crore if not for the protests, <a href="https://www.boxofficeindia.com/report-details.php?articleid=5755">experts believe</a>. The anger against police cracking down on university students also did not bring footfalls to watch the cop caper. "We have decided to release 'Sooryavanshi' during Diwali and '83' will come out during Christmas this year. We are committed to release these two films in theatres first. As and when the government and exhibitors open cinema halls and the environment is safe and secure for audience to come, these things will have to happen," Shibasish Sarkar, Group CEO Reliance Entertainment, told PTI. "We are optimistic people and we have another five to six months to go from now and hopefully situation will be normal (by then). That's the expectation. Usually, these films are slated for a date when festival is around and we thought it will be prudent to work towards that date," he added. "Sooryavanshi" is the third film in Shetty's cop universe after Ajay Devgn's "Singham" and Ranveer-starrer "Simmba". The film is presented by Reliance Entertainment and produced by Rohit Shetty Picturez in association with Dharma Productions and Cape of Good Films. "'83", which chronicles India's first World Cup win under the captaincy of Kapil Dev in 1983, also stars Hardy Sandhu, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Jiva, Saqib Saleem, Pankaj Tripathi and Deepika Padukone. The film is produced by Khan, Madhu Mantena, Vishnu Induri and presented by Reliance Entertainment. "Sooryavanshi" and ''83" are the first two big films two have officially announce the theatrical release date as the country recovers from the pandemic, which has led to many star-studded projects opting for a direct-to-digital release. Shoojit Sircar's "Gulabo Sitabo", featuring megastar Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana, was the first big Hindi movie to release on a streaming platform. Vidya Balan-led "Shakuntala Devi", Janhvi Kapoor's "Gunjan Saxena - The Kargil Girl", and actor Sushant Singh Rajput's last film "Dil Bechara" are all headed for direct-to-digital release. On Monday it was announced that Akshay's "Laxmmi Bomb", "Sadak 2", featuring Alia Bhatt, Devgn and Sanjay Dutt-starrer "Bhuj: The Pride of India", Abhishek Bachchan's "The Big Bull", Vidyut Jammwal's "Khuda Haafiz" and "Lootcase", featuring Kunal Kemmu and Rasika Dugal, are all set to premiere on streaming platform Disney+ Hotstar. During a virtual press conference, Akshay had said though he is "excited" about releasing "Laxmmi Bomb" on the OTT platform, he feels "sad" that people won't be able to watch the movie in theatres. "To be honest, today I am excited for this platform. But yes, I'll say that I am also sad for theatres. After all, movies are theatres first birth right. But in the current situation, everyone's safety is of utmost priority. "Today with theatres being shut and people watching movies on OTT platforms, if I can make my fans happy by releasing film on Disney+ Hotstar, which is a big platform with a massive reach, then I am glad," Akshay told reporters. The decision to put out the films on streaming services was not welcomed by many cinema chain owners, but the announcement of theatrical release of "Sooryavanshi" and "'83" has come as a relief. The <keyword id="103144" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Karni-Sena">Karni Sena</keyword>, which protested against Bollywood film "Padmaavat" over historic facts last year, has now asked the producers of "Prithviraj", an upcoming movie featuring Akshay Kumar, not to tamper with such facts. Members of the outfit, led by its national president Mahipal Singh Makrana, staged a stir at the shooting of the film in Jamwaramgarh village, near here, on Saturday and asked the director, Chandra Prakash, to stop the shooting. Prakash assured them that there was no tampering with historic facts in the film's script. However, the Karni Sena demanded a written assurance. Akshay Kumar was not shooting when the Karni Sena members staged the protest on Saturday. "We held discussions with the director, Chandra Prakash, regarding the film's script today. We told him that no tampering with historic facts will be tolerated," Makrana said on Monday. "Prithviraj Chauhan should not be portrayed as a lover in the film. The director has assured us that there is no such thing in the movie but we want a written assurance," he said. Mumbai, The Central Board of Film Certification has cleared "Oh My God 2" (<keyword id="12310621" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="OMG-2" source="Orion">OMG 2</keyword>) with "a few modifications" following which the movie will release on its scheduled date of August 11 with an 'A' certificate, said an insider on Tuesday. The film, starring <keyword id="2823" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Akshay-Kumar" source="Orion">Akshay Kumar</keyword> and Pankaj Tripathi, was reportedly stuck with the censor board for over two weeks. "There are no cuts in the film; only a few modifications, which the makers discussed with the censor board members. "For a UA certificate, the committee was asking for a lot of cuts. The makers didn't want to compromise with the sanctity of the film. So they chose to go with an Adults certification but keeping the integrity of the film intact and also adhering to and respecting the norms of the censor board," the insider said. According to CBFC, 'UA' certification means children below 12 years of age can watch a film under parental guidance. An 'A' certificate means adults (aged 18+) can publicly watch a film. "OMG 2" features Tripathi as a devotee of believer in Lord Shiva named Kanti Sharan Mudgal and Kumar in the role of Lord Shiva. The film is billed as a spiritual sequel of "OMG - Oh My God!", which released in 2012. Presented by Viacom18 Studios, "OMG 2" is produced by Cape of Good Films and Wakaoo Films. The film is written and directed by Amit Rai, and also stars Yami Gautam.
