Rajasthan government withdraws night curfew after decline in COVID-19 cases

In the wake of <keyword id="4325984" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="steep-rise">steep rise</keyword> in <keyword id="8763838" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="covid-19">Covid-19</keyword> cases, the <keyword id="6355588" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="rajasthan">Rajasthan</keyword> <keyword id="26362" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Government">government</keyword> has announced new guidelines under which gyms, cinema halls, amusement parks and swimming polls would remain closed from April 5-19. The government has also directed to close schools for Class 1 to 9. The decisions were taken on Sunday night during a high level meeting called by Chief Minister <keyword id="49103" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Ashok-Gehlot">Ashok Gehlot</keyword> to review the <keyword id="61888" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="situation">situation</keyword> following the steep rise in Covid cases. On Saturday, the Chief Minister announced that strict actions will be taken for the next 15 days to check the Covid spread. Also the government has announced closure for all classes running in the colleges except for the final year of Postgraduate and Undergraduate, however practicals will be allowed. Going further, district collectors and police commissioners have been given special rights to announce night curfews where required. The restaurants will have to be closed during the night, however take away and home delivery will be allowed. As per the new guidelines, only 100 people will be allowed to attend wedding ceremonies. Only 75 per cent staff would be allowed to work in the government offices and people have been advised to suspend their travel to places where Covid patients are high in numbers. Over 8,000 covid cases have been reported in Rajasthan in the last one week. In the last 24 hours, 1,729 Covid cases have been reported out of which the highest cases were registered in <keyword id="6354779" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Jaipur">Jaipur</keyword> which counted to 258, Ajmer 96, Bhilwara 96, Chittaurgarh 68, Jodhpur 194, Kota 225, Dungarpur 85 and <keyword id="42774" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Udaipur">Udaipur</keyword> has 137 cases. Rajasthan government announces new guidelines amid rising COVID-19 cases in the state

Budget carrier SpiceJet will launch 24 new domestic flights between February 12 and 20. Accordingly, SpiceJet will be the first and only airline to connect Ajmer with Mumbai and Ahmedabad with Amritsar reiterating the airline's commitment to enhance connectivity between metro and non-metro cities. Schools, colleges, entertainment parks and cinemas will remain shut till year-end. “All markets, workplaces and commercial complexes will be closed by 7 pm so that the staff and others reach back home by 8 pm unless special permission is obtained from the officer authorised by the District Collector in this regard,” the authorities said in its order. These restrictions will not be applicable for factories, IT companies, chemists and workplaces related to essential emergency services. It will also not impact marriage and other gatherings. Movement of trucks and other goods carrier vehicles will be allowed during the night curfew. The government on Saturday also capped the rate for Covid-19 RT-PCR tests by private labs in the state to ₹800, slashing it by ₹400. Gehlot said the government ordered the lowering of the Covid test rates from ₹1,200 to ₹800 following a drop in test kits' prices. Rajasthan reported 18 coronavirus deaths and 2,518 fresh cases on Sunday, taking the total number of fatalities and positive cases to 2,292 and 2.65 lakh. The maximum number of fresh cases were detected in Jaipur where 555 people tested positive, followed by Jodhpur with 395 cases while Kota, Ajmer and Udaipur recorded 211, 164 and 101 cases, respectively. Rajasthan imposes night curfew in 13 districts till December 31, slashes COVID-19 test prices for private labs

Gujarat: After Ahmedabad, night curfew in Surat, Vadodara and Rajkot The police commissioner of Ahmedabad, Sanjay Shrivastav, has decided to extend the night curfew in the city till December 11 in view of the prevailing coronavirus situation. The Gujarat government had imposed a night curfew in Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara and Rajkot from Saturday 9:00 pm due to a massive rise in the number of coronavirus cases. After the Diwali festivities, there has been a significant rise in the number of COVID cases in Gujarat, especially in the financial capital of the state, Ahmedabad. Many people were seen roaming the markets without adhering the standard precautions. They have already come into effect in Indore, Bhopal, Gwalior, Vidisha, and Ratlam districts from Saturday and will be effective from 10:00 pm to 6:00 am every day. Maharashtra: Covid negative report mandatory to enter Maharashtra As Covid-19 cases are on the upswing in several parts of the country, Maharashtra on Monday imposed conditions for all travellers arriving in the state from Gujarat, Goa, Rajasthan and Delhi, starting from Wednesday (November 25). The state has made it compulsory for a RT-PCR negative test report for all people arriving by air, road or rail from these four states. In a notification, the state has said that for people who land here by flights, the RT-PCR test must have been done within 72 hours of their scheduled arrival at the Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur and Aurangabad airports. For those entering the state by roads, the administrations in the state's border districts will make arrangements for checking symptoms, body temperature and conducting tests before they are permitted onward travel in Maharashtra.
