Captain Nicolas Boltoukhine, Senior Operational Marketing Manager at Airbus, spoke exclusively to about the upcoming <keyword id="20216590" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="delivery" source="keywords">delivery</keyword> and the features that set the H160 apart from its competitors. Boltoukhine said, "We are delivering more and more helicopters. So, the market is ramping up. It (H160) is the safest in the markets and probably one of the best in categories to meet the weather conditions of India. We have been granted a certification in India this year and the first deliveries are going to occur at the very beginning of 2025." The arrival marks a milestone for both the Indian aviation market and Airbus, as the H160 is known for its cutting-edge technology, safety features, and comfort. Boltoukhine said, "You've got a jet plane experience in that kind of H160 helicopter, because of the automatism, because of the comfort, because of the way it's built inside." He added, "We've got, of course, a few customers because it's the very beginning of deliveries, but we are ramping up quite fast. The market is requesting equipment like the H160 add, especially in terms of safety, in terms of comfort. People need to feel comfortable and to feel safe." The H160 helicopter is designed to offer unparalleled comfort and safety, accommodating one to two pilots and up to 12 passengers. Its advanced autopilot system, robust safety features, and luxurious interior make it a preferred choice for various sectors, including oil and gas, search and rescue, news gathering, and personal and business aviation. With 71 H160 helicopters already flying worldwide, amassing over 4,000 flight hours, the demand for this versatile aircraft is rapidly increasing. Airbus to deliver helicopter H160 to India in early 2025

New Delhi, <keyword id="19913415" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="airbus" source="keywords">Airbus</keyword> has received approval from aviation regulator <keyword id="19899185" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="dgca" source="keywords">DGCA</keyword> for its new generation H160 helicopter in India. More than 100 helicopters of Airbus, including the single-engine H125, are being operated by various entities in the country. In a release on Thursday, Airbus said its H160 helicopter has been granted the letter of type acceptance by the <keyword id="19926254" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="directorate-general-of-civil-aviation" source="keywords">Directorate General of Civil Aviation</keyword> (DGCA) that will pave the way for its entry into the Indian market. A multi-role helicopter, H160 can be used for offshore transportation, emergency medical services, private and business aviation and public services, among others. Sunny Guglani, Head of <keyword id="20255696" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="airbus-helicopters" source="keywords">Airbus Helicopters</keyword>, <keyword id="20242045" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="airbus-india" source="keywords">Airbus India</keyword> and South Asia, said the DGCA approval paves the way for the introduction of the world's most modern helicopter in India starting with a corporate customer followed by the potential deployment for other types of missions. "Airbus Helicopters is committed to developing a holistic helicopter ecosystem in India, including bringing the most advanced helicopter platforms to India, developing local MRO capabilities and, as we announced in January this year, by starting to produce helicopters in India," he said. Apart from H125, Airbus' H130 and H145 are already being operated by various players in India.

"It's a replacement for the current H155 and is able to scale up to the bottom end of the larger H175."The H160 is able to deliver vastly superior performance to the similarly sized, but older, H155. At the same time, it slots in below the much larger H175 that was designed to deliver speed and capacity for the company's oil and gas customers, Emerson, who is the head of Airbus Helicopter's North American business, said. "This medium twin segment is heavily competitive," Emerson added. After all, there are legacy aircraft like the AgustaWestland AW139, the Sikorsky S76, and the legendary Bell 412 with which to contend.However, the H160 is expected to be a step above its rivals in the segment. To create the new helicopter, Airbus incorporated technology from 68 new patents while reimagining its production process with input from the automotive industry.
