When love is in the air and Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, <keyword id="143" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Bollywood">Bollywood</keyword> is bound to come up with a <keyword id="24069" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="romantic-comedy">romantic comedy</keyword>. But when ad film-maker <keyword id="1612592" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Vinil-Mathew">Vinil Mathew</keyword>’s directorial debut <keyword id="1520199" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Hasee-Toh-Phasee">Hasee Toh Phasee</keyword> hit the screen a week before <keyword id="4167782" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="V-day">V-Day</keyword> (February 7), it turned out to be a better love feast than the run-of-the-mill romances. Much of the credit goes to the lead duo – <keyword id="562349" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Parineeti-Chopra">Parineeti Chopra</keyword> and <keyword id="1320874" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Sidharth-Malhotra">Sidharth Malhotra</keyword> – and the <keyword id="303" type="POSITION" weightage="80" keywordseo="Director">director</keyword>, of course, who tweaked all the usual Bollywood masala into an earthy and sharp reality without stripping the flick of its dream elements. And going by the <keyword id="2034852" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Box-office-numbers">box office numbers</keyword>, we dare say that the audience loves those experiments garbed in the feel-good raiment. In other words, this Parineeti-Sidharth starrer has different offerings at different levels – whether you take it as an arty-commercial experiment or just another love story, with some nuances that can push you out of your comfort zone. 
 So how has the film fared at the box office so far? The Rs 25 crore <keyword id="1636016" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="rom-com">rom-com</keyword>, jointly produced by <keyword id="3778" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Karan-Johar">Karan Johar</keyword>’s <keyword id="62161" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Dharma-Productions">Dharma Productions</keyword> and <keyword id="7929" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Anurag-Kashyap">Anurag Kashyap</keyword>’s <keyword id="1352720" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="Phantom-Productions">Phantom Productions</keyword>, hit about 2,000 screens across the country and grossed around Rs 17-18 crore at home during the first weekend, according to industry estimates. <keyword id="1861689" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="overseas-collection">Overseas collection</keyword>s stood at a little over $1 million. The <keyword id="2014761" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Occupancy-rate">occupancy rate</keyword> was 50-80% during the opening weekend and stayed at 50% on the crucial Day 4 (February 10) in the domestic market, bringing in around Rs 6 crore. Overseas collection on the 4th day was around Rs 1.5 crore. However, the movie is expected to do much better at the box office during the <keyword id="2054858" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="V-Day-week">V-Day week</keyword>. 
 
Karan Johar is also happy with the way things are going. “Thank you for the immense love and appreciation for Hasee Toh Phasee, a film I am extremely proud of,” he tweeted on Sunday. 
 
The rom-com is expected to ride on critical acclaim and we feel that is justified to some extent. For one, director Vinil Mathew (best known for his Cadbury: Kuch meetha ho jaye commercials) knows how to tell a good story, blending reality with cinematic magic. And writer <keyword id="1989065" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Harshvardhan-Kulkarni">Harshvardhan Kulkarni</keyword> has aptly supported him. The film is essentially a quirky love story between <keyword id="19563" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="meeta">Meeta</keyword> (Parineeti) and Nikhil (Sidharth) – a modern-day take about life, love and relationships. Consequently, you see a runaway professional and a turbulent soul in Meeta, who has brains but takes drugs, steals money from her family and tries to whisk off her sister <keyword id="5405" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Karishma">Karishma</keyword>’s (<keyword id="16234" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Adah-Sharma">Adah Sharma</keyword>) fiancé who is also a long-time friend of Meeta. Sidharth, on the other hand, is a more staid character with his commitments firmly in place. The resulting story weaves the chemistry between the odd pair while <keyword id="6362839" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Manoj-Joshi">Manoj Joshi</keyword> does some good work as Meeta and Karishma’s father. 
 
But one still wonders why all the soul-searching and putting life into order need to happen immediately before a crucial marriage, à la Mere Brother Ki Dulhan? Only this time, we have a runaway bridegroom, instead of the bride walking away from the mandap as is the Bollywood wont. But Parineeti is the real star cast here – bright, gorgeous, self-willed and passionate – and wins hearts in spite of her over-the-top acting. Sidharth, too, is out on a self-quest and looks laudable. But it’s the cliché plot that mars the good efforts. There are nice elements, but they come in bits and pieces, and finally, Hasee Toh Phasee remains a commercial candyfloss. 
 
One just wonders what would have happened if Parineeti and Sidharth went through the same experiences post the marriage between Adah and Sidharth. But that might have been too much off the track for Bollywood and the Indian audience who did not receive the offbeat theme of Nishabd well. Let us see if Hasee Toh Phasee can join the 100 crore club. 
 
 
 
<keyword id="805778" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="100" keywordseo="Heartless">Heartless</keyword>: Commendable efforts lose steam, again Medical thrillers are pretty rare in Bollywood and we pinned our hopes on <keyword id="17186" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Shekhar-Suman">Shekhar Suman</keyword>’s directorial debut Heartless, starring his son <keyword id="20393" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Adhyayan">Adhyayan</keyword>, along with <keyword id="20398" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="deepti-naval">Deepti Naval</keyword>, <keyword id="6381489" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Om-puri">Om Puri</keyword> and newcomer <keyword id="1935232" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Ariana-Ayam">Ariana Ayam</keyword> (she hails from New York). The movie also released on February 7 and hit about 800 screens all over the country. But unlike Hasee Toh Phasee, this one had a poor start in spite of a great storyline – essentially borrowed from the American crime/supernatural/conspiracy thriller <keyword id="106100" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="80" keywordseo="Awake">Awake</keyword>. Surprisingly, the box office numbers are not officially available yet but according to one estimate, Heartless has grossed a little over Rs 1 crore in the opening weekend. That is, indeed, shocking. 
 A close look at the movie, however, confirms our fear that it could be a box office flop. Rich boy <keyword id="138003" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Aditya-Singh">Aditya Singh</keyword> (<keyword id="6354939" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Adhyayan-Suman">Adhyayan Suman</keyword>), who needs a <keyword id="6397601" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="heart-transplant">heart transplant</keyword>, falls in love with fortune-hunter <keyword id="80068" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Ria">Ria</keyword> (Ariana Ayam) and secretly marries her before the surgery. But once he is under the knife, all hell breaks loose. There is conspiracy going on to kill him with a <keyword id="2054863" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Poisoned-transplant">poisoned transplant</keyword>, so that the wife can pocket the insurance money. Adhyayan’s friend and <keyword id="6382875" type="POSITION" weightage="80" keywordseo="surgeon">surgeon</keyword> <keyword id="2054864" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Dr-Sameer-Saxena">Dr Sameer Saxena</keyword> (Shekhar Suman) is also in cahoots. 
 During the surgery, the truth dawns upon the hero as he goes into <keyword id="2054865" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Anaesthesia-awareness">anaesthesia awareness</keyword>, a medical condition where the patient is conscious enough to understand everything, but cannot move. Finally, his mother <keyword id="489622" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Gayatri-Singh">Gayatri Singh</keyword> (Deepti Naval) commits suicide to make the transplant happen; Om Puri, as <keyword id="2054866" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Dr-Sanjay-Trehan">Dr Sanjay Trehan</keyword>, manages to save him and all the baddies are arrested at the end. There’s nothing wrong with the story except for the fact that medical thrill becomes hilarious comedy during the second half and Adhyayan still looks pretty stiff although the mother-son relation has been played out well. Maybe the BO numbers will pick up as soon as the audience gets used to the comical activities that take place in the OT. But can it still be touted as Adhyayan’s comeback movie? 
 
<keyword id="1977299" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Babloo-Happy-Hai">Babloo Happy Hai</keyword>, <keyword id="828628" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Ya-Rab">Ya Rab</keyword> fail to make the cut The other two releases of the week also failed to make the cut at the box office in spite of some serious themes. Directed by <keyword id="475774" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Nila-Madhab-Panda">Nila Madhab Panda</keyword> (of Jalpari and I am Kalam fame), Babloo Happy Hai has a meaningful message about <keyword id="19472" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="aids">AIDS</keyword> and how people can still live a full life. But the movie has a <keyword id="110559" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Limited-release">limited release</keyword> and hit only about 350-plus screens. It has grossed a little over Rs 15 lakh on the opening day, according to TalkingMoviez.com. 
 
Hasnain Hyderabadwala-directed Ya Rab depicts the eternal conflict between <keyword id="70629" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="100" keywordseo="Humanity">humanity</keyword> and <keyword id="2054867" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Parochial-attitude">parochial attitude</keyword>, and how <keyword id="1013184" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="religious-fundamentalism">religious fundamentalism</keyword> can lead to <keyword id="6358165" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="terrorism">terrorism</keyword>. But once again, lack of promotion has failed to create buzz for this movie, co-produced by <keyword id="6370367" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Mahesh-Bhatt">Mahesh Bhatt</keyword>. Made on a budget of Rs 2.5 crore, the movie has been released in 300-plus theatres and the Friday collections stood in the range of Rs 20 lakh-plus. Overall, <keyword id="434916" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Bollywood-box-office">Bollywood box office</keyword> hasn’t witnessed too many ripples even now but movie-goers are having a gala time, sampling different genres. That’s definitely a big plus and we are waiting for more.

Phasee Wins Hearts; Heartless Fails To Retain The Thrill

It seems <keyword id="6355103" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="social">social</keyword> networking giants cannot keep their eyes off Indian innovators. Professional networking site <keyword id="28120" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Linkedin">LinkedIn</keyword> has been acquiring Indian-origin companies for a couple of years now. And now <keyword id="2006517" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="social-media-leader">social media leader</keyword> <keyword id="6354576" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Facebook">Facebook</keyword> has scooped up Bangalore-based tech start-up <keyword id="1959708" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Little-Eye-Labs">Little Eye Labs</keyword> for an undisclosed amount. It is the first Indian company acquired by Facebook. But the takeover has not come as a surprise as media reports were rife about the proposed acquisition for over a month now. Although the financials have not been disclosed, a TechCrunch report earlier pegged it at $10-15 million. 
 So what does this Indian company do in the first place? Founded in 2012 by five tech professionals – <keyword id="2006528" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Giridhar-Murthy">Giridhar Murthy</keyword>, <keyword id="1960854" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Kumar-Rangarajan">Kumar Rangarajan</keyword> (also the CEO of the company), <keyword id="2006529" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Satyam-Kandula">Satyam Kandula</keyword>, <keyword id="2006530" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Lakshman-Kakkirala">Lakshman Kakkirala</keyword> and <keyword id="1182160" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Aditya-Kulkarni">Aditya Kulkarni</keyword> – Little Eye Labs develops performance analysis and monitoring tools for <keyword id="6355645" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="android">Android</keyword> apps (2.3 or later versions). The company had released the first official version of the tool in April 2013. The tool not only provides critical insight into an <keyword id="2006532" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Apps-key-performance">app’s key performance</keyword> (such as power usage, data usage, memory consumption, etc.), but also helps developers <keyword id="70866" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="analyse">analyse</keyword> those issues contextually – so that quick-fix and hassle-free solutions could be worked out. 
 Prior to starting up Little Eye Labs, Murthy worked with Apple; Rangarajan was at <keyword id="10875" type="CITY" weightage="60" keywordseo="IBM">IBM</keyword> and <keyword id="6367983" type="CITY" weightage="60" keywordseo="HP">HP</keyword> while Kakkirala worked with IBM and <keyword id="6363100" type="CITY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Yahoo">Yahoo</keyword>. 
 
The seven-member-strong Indian tech firm has confirmed the acquisition in a <a href="http://www.littleeye.co/transition.php">statement</a> posted on the site and says that the entire team will now move to Facebook’s headquarters in <keyword id="266145" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="MENLO-PARK">Menlo Park</keyword>, <keyword id="2379" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="California">California</keyword> from where they can “leverage Facebook’s world-class infrastructure and help improve performance of their already awesome apps. For us, this is an opportunity to make an impact on the more than 1 billion people who use Facebook.” 
 
The company has, however, assured its current customers that they won’t be left in the lurch and there will be further information on plans to offer a free version of Little Eye until June 30, 2014. 
 The start-up has already secured seed capital from <keyword id="1642294" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="GSF-Superangels">GSF Superangels</keyword> and also from <keyword id="1910025" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Ventureeast-Tenet-Fund">VentureEast Tenet Fund</keyword>. According to an earlier report by Business Standard, the firm raised an investment between $100,000 and $200,000 from GSF. 
 Interestingly, professional networking site LinkedIn is also getting aggressive about Indian-origin companies and acquired <keyword id="1037643" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="SlideShare">SlideShare</keyword> in 2012 for $119 million. SlideShare is a presentation-sharing site founded by India-born <keyword id="791652" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Rashmi-Sinha">Rashmi Sinha</keyword>. Last year, too, LinkedIn acquired <keyword id="72069" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="pulse">Pulse</keyword>, the popular newsreader for Web and <keyword id="6354485" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="mobile">mobile</keyword>. The transaction was valued at $90 million in stock and cash. Interestingly, Pulse was founded in 2010 by <keyword id="323918" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Akshay-Kothari">Akshay Kothari</keyword> and <keyword id="276931" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Ankit-Gupta">Ankit Gupta</keyword> while they were still students at <keyword id="101399" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="60" keywordseo="Stanford-University">Stanford University</keyword>. The service started out as an <keyword id="600351" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="iPad-app">iPad app</keyword>, but quickly expanded to other platforms, including the Web. Just before the acquisition, it also started to dip its toes into social by adding a number of social features to its apps. 
 
Although Facebook has acquired a purely tech company, let’s not forget that it is all about evaluating the performance of Android apps. So it may not be wrong to assume that FB is eyeing a more enhanced mobile experience at every level – a similar thing LinkedIn is trying to achieve through its Pulse app. This time, the writing is definitely on the wall – the future is going to be social and mobile.

An Indian Start-Up For The First Time

<keyword id="99276" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="arjun-tendulkar" source="Orion">Arjun Tendulkar</keyword>, son of cricket legend <keyword id="6354267" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="sachin-tendulkar" source="Orion">Sachin Tendulkar</keyword>, has not been included in the <keyword id="6358070" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="mumbai" source="Orion">Mumbai</keyword> <keyword id="3028" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="ranji-trophy" source="Orion">Ranji Trophy</keyword> squad for the knockout matches to be held in June. Prithvi Shaw will lead the squad that also includes fellow opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, Dhaval Kulkarni, and Tushar Deshpande for the match against Uttarakhand in Bengaluru. In February this year, Arjun Tendulkar and India batter Ajinkya Rahane were named in the Mumbai Ranji Trophy squad. The left-handed allrounder, who has represented Mumbai in T20 matches, is yet to make his first-class debut. Rahane is still recovering from a shoulder injury. Arjun Tendulkar was picked by the Mumbai Indians in the IPL mega auction for Rs 30 lakh but did not get to play a single match even after MI were eliminated from title contention early after losing eight consecutive matches. The team management's decision not to give him an IPL debut had generated much heat on social media with fans trolling Mumbai Indians skipper <keyword id="13937" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="rohit-sharma" source="Orion">Rohit Sharma</keyword> for their decision. Meanwhile, the Mumbai Ranji squad for the knockout matches includes two brothers -- middle-order batsman <keyword id="66876" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="sarfaraz-khan" source="Orion">Sarfaraz Khan</keyword>, who played for Delhi Capitals in the IPL, and his 18-year-old brother Musheer. An opening batsman and left-arm spinner, Musheer has done well for Mumbai in the Cooch Behar Trophy, thus getting a call-up for the senior squad. The Senior Selection Committee of Mumbai Cricket Association led by Salil Ankola and comprising Gulam Parkar, Sunil More, Prasad Desai, and Anand Yalvigi also picked Arman Jaffer, nephew of former India opener <keyword id="7862" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="wasim-jaffer" source="Orion">Wasim Jaffer</keyword>, for the knockout matches. Arjun Tendulkar not included in Mumbai squad for Ranji Trophy knockout matches

Shiv Sena may have shared power with ideologically-opposite Congress for the first time, but the saffron party is known to have cosied up with it before and posters with old pictures of bonhomie between their leaders Bal Thackeray and Indira Gandhi taken in the seventies were put up in different parts of the city. Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray took oath Thursday evening at the historic Shivaji Park supported by the Congress and the NCP. Besides late Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray and former prime minister Indira Gandhi, NCP President Sharad Pawar also figured in the posters. Those aware of its past, the Shiv Sena, known for its firebrand Hindutva politics, seeking support of the Congress and the NCP does not come as a surprise. From backing Congress candidates in presidential polls to not fielding any contender against Pawar's daughter Supriya Sule to even tying up with ideologically opposite Muslim League, the Shiv Sena has had a history of flirting with 'frenemies'. In the assembly polls held last month, the BJP won 105 seats, the Shiv Sena bagged 56, followed by the NCP (54) and the Congress (48) in the 288-member House. The Shiv Sena, founded by Bal Thackeray in 1966, in its more than five decades long journey has allied with the Congress, formally and informally. In its initial days, it was often supported directly or indirectly by many Congress leaders and its different factions. Noted political analyst Suhas Palshikar in an article in the Economic and Political Weekly writes that senior state Congress leader Ramrao Adik was present at the first ever Shiv Sena rally. Dhaval Kulkarni, the author of "The Cousins Thackeray-Uddhav and Raj and in the shadow of their Sena", said that in the 1960s and 70s, the party was mostly used by the Congress to counter influence of the Left on the labour unions in the city. The party in 1971 allied with Congress (O) and unsuccessfully fielded three candidates for Lok Sabha in Mumbai and the Konkan region. Thackeray backed the Emergency in 1977 and did not field any candidate for the Lok Sabha polls held in that year. "In 1977, it also backed Congress' Murli Deora in the mayoral polls," said Kulkarni. So much so that the party was also mocked as 'Vasantsena', the army of the then Vasantrao Naik who was the state chief minister from 1963 to 1974. Palshikar writes that in 1978, when attempts to ally with the Janata Party failed, the Shiv Sena allied with the Congress (I), the faction led by Indira Gandhi. It fielded 33 candidates for the assembly polls. All 33 lost in the anti-Indira wave. In one of the most unlikely alliances, the Sena also allied with the Muslim League. Veteran journalist Prakash Akolkar, in his book on Shiv Sena titled 'Jai Maharashtra', writes that for winning the Mumbai mayoral polls in the 1970s, Shiv Sena also allied with the Muslim League. For this, the Sena supremo also shared stage with Muslim League leader G M Banatwala at Mastan Talao in Nagpada in South Mumbai, Sena's first chief minister Manohar Joshi writes in his book 'Shiv Sena-Kal-Aaj-Udya' (Shiv Sena-Past-Present and Future). If it was used by the Congress to end the Left dominance on trade unions in Mumbai, the Sena allied with Madhu Dandavate's Praja Socialist Party in 1968. The bonhomie between the Congress and the Sena ended in the 80s after the death of Indira Gandhi and the ties between the two were not the same. The relations only deteriorated during the terms of Rajiv Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and later Rahul Gandhi. Incidentally, Uddhav's son and Sena's Youth Wing chief Aditya Thackeray met Sonia on Wednesday to extend invitation to oath-taking ceremony. The mid-80's was also the time when the Sena tilted towards Hindutva and gravitated towards the BJP. The late 80s and 90s changed the character of the party which moved towards hardline Hindutuva. In the later years, the Shiv Sena, however, broke ranks from the BJP-led NDA and voted for Congress backed Pratibha Patil and Pranab Mukherjee in presidential polls. The equation between the Thackerays and the Pawars goes back to more than five decades both were fierce rivals separated by conflicting ideologies but thick friends in private life. Pawar often termed Thackeray as a large-hearted opponent. In his attacks, he would often call him 'maidyaacha pota' (sack of flour). Sharad Pawar in his autobiography 'On My Terms' writes that despite being fierce rivals, how he and his wife Pratibha would visit Matoshree for "gupshup" and dinner. He also recalls that when he was suffering from cancer in 2004, Bal Thackeray gave him a list of "several commandments" related to diet. In private, Pawar says, Thackeray addressed him as 'Sharadbabu'. In 2006, when Pawar's daughter Supriya Sule contested the Rajya Sabha polls, Thackeray did not field any candidate. "Sharadbabu, I have seen her (Sule) since she was a knee-high girl. This is a big step in her career. Members said they were fine with individuals appearing before the panel who represent enterprises, but private individuals with ‘agenda’ cannot be put forth. 
 The Joint Committee on the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in <keyword id="6364579" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Land-acquisition">Land Acquisition</keyword>, Rehabilitation and Resettlement (Second Amendment) Bill, 2015 had called delegates from Foundation for Democratic Reforms, Bhoomi Adhikar Andolan, Sree Samayaa, Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy, PRS Legislative Research and Dhanush Kumar. 
 
Two law students namely Aditya Manubarwala and Shardool Kulkarni also presented their views.

In the last league match of <keyword id="6354312" type="CITY" weightage="40" keywordseo="IPL">IPL</keyword> 7, <keyword id="13880" type="COMPANY" weightage="40" keywordseo="Mumbai-Indians">Mumbai Indians</keyword> needed to chase 190 in 87 balls (14.3 overs) at a required rate of 13.2 per over to claim the fourth and final play-offs spot available. <keyword id="61632" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Kieron-Pollard">Kieron Pollard</keyword> said during the mid-innings break that the home team would go all for for it, seeing as if they did not get those 190 runs in the required overs their tournament was over and <keyword id="13802" type="CITY" weightage="40" keywordseo="Rajasthan-Royals">Rajasthan Royals</keyword> would progress. What happened next was unbelievable, as Corey Anderson slammed an unbeaten 95 off just 44 balls and found support from Ambati Rayudu and Aditya Tare to seal a sensational five-wicket win.

	15th over: 13 runs

	Mumbai managed 24 off the 13th and 14th over to leave the equation at nine off three balls. Watson entrusted Faulkner the duty. First ball, Anderson edged to third man for one. The second, criminally, was a leg-stump full toss. Rayudu swung it over long leg for six. Now two runs needed off one ball. Rayudu tried to cut a short-of-a-length ball but it lobbed to short extra cover, who underarmed the ball at the nonstriker's end but missed. Rayudu turned back for the second but was run out. He sank to his knees in despair, but within moments the umpires ruled that because the scores were tied, Mumbai could get their NRR over that of Rajasthan's if they hit the next ball for four.
