Looks like <keyword id="44373" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Aditya-Birla-Group">Aditya Birla group</keyword> is all set to tap the entrepreneurial ideas of its employees, which is why it has planned to roll out an intrapreneurship programme soon, which is called Innolabs. Under the programme, the company will allow its staff to take time off from work to pursue their entrepreneurial ambitions. 
 
In August last year, the group had also started Aditya Birla Bizlabs, which was its programme to collaborate with start-ups in the retail, financial services and telecom businesses. The group has a dominant presence in these sectors. Out of the 1,200 start-ups that applied for the programme, 20 were selected to "scale up". 
 "When we were doing all of this (Bizlabs) for startups outside, our employees joining us from IITs and IIMs started asking: what is there in it for us? So, we have started working on something for our employees called <keyword id="3249352" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="aditya-birla-innolabs">Aditya Birla Innolabs</keyword>," Umesh Adhikary, president, corporate strategy and business development, Aditya Birla Group told ET. 
 
"If your idea is great and we see conviction and passion in you, we are going to help you create a company of your own. At the same time, we are going to give you a six-month or one-year sabbatical where you are going to go, develop the product, create your own team... and in case you fail, you can come and join back," added Adhikary. 
 
"We are forging partnerships with Nasscom 10,000 startups, Microsoft Ventures, Techstars, 500 startups," said Adhikary, who added that the group would prefer to work with slightly older startups which are looking at geographic expansion. 
 
Similarly, RIL has set up GenNext Innovation Hub, which is a start-up accelerator programme running in partnership with Microsoft Ventures. 
 
"It's a healthy development," says Sharad Sharma, cofounder of iSPIRT, commenting on Birla's move. "It's a playbook that Indian conglomerates have companies from tech companies globally and it's a proven one," he adds.

Aditya Birla Group would soon allow employees to take time off for pursuing their entrepreneurial ideas

Chairman of the <keyword id="44373" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Aditya-Birla-Group">Aditya Birla group</keyword>, <keyword id="6354955" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Kumar-mangalam-birla">Kumar Mangalam Birla</keyword> said they are going to list Mauritius-based holding company for carbon black <keyword id="1629179" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="SKI-Carbon-Black">SKI Carbon Black</keyword> (India) Pvt Ltd in overseas markets, after consolidating the business. 
 The company will be either listed in <keyword id="117776" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="London-Stock-Exchange">London Stock Exchange</keyword> or New York Stock Exchange and it will take at least two years. 
 
Carbon black is a raw material used to make tyres and ink. 
 
The SKI Carbon Black’s listing would be the first listing by the group in the overseas market after Birla took over in 1995. 
 
Under Birla, the company went on to become world's largest carbon black maker with 2-million tonne capacity a year. 
 
Experts point out that after the listing, company will get a better leverage ratio and capital to expand both in India and overseas. 
 
Reportedly, in 2013, Aditya Birla Nuvo Ltd had divested its carbon black business to SKI Carbon Black (India) Pvt. Ltd, for Rs 1,451 crore. 
The company had then said in a filing to the BSE the Aditya Birla Nuvo's carbon black business, by itself, accounts for merely 2% of the global industry capacity. 
 
Moreover, in view of the company's capital commitment towards funding growth of its other businesses, it is extremely challenging for the company to become a global carbon black player.

Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC’s ₹2768 crore IPO will open on September 29

<keyword id="6354955" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Kumar-mangalam-birla">Kumar Mangalam Birla</keyword> and his family are planning to invest Rs 500 crore in the food and grocery business owned by the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Now-Aditya-Birla-Group-joins-the-Defence-equipment-manufacturing-party/articleshow/52023254.cms">Aditya Birla Group</a>, so that its authorised capital is increased to Rs 750 crore. 
 <keyword id="849288" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Aditya-Birla-Retail-Limited">Aditya Birla Retail Limited</keyword> (<keyword id="148276" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="ABRL">ABRL</keyword>) has passed a board resolution that allows shares to be issued on a preferential basis to either Kanishtha Finance &amp; Investment or RKN Retail, promoted by <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Aditya-Birla-Group-would-soon-allow-employees-to-take-time-off-for-pursuing-their-entrepreneurial-ideas/articleshow/51024584.cms">Birla</a>, his family and some closely-held companies of the family. These details were revealed by the privately-held company in a filing with the Registrar of Companies.

"The issuance and allotment for shares up to Rs 500 crore will be in one or more tranches within a period of twelve months," the filing said. With the additional capital, the company will be able to meet its capital expenditure needs while also handling of its debt. 
 "The board resolution was related to an enabling provision to allow the company increase the authorised capital to meet its general corporate expenses in the ordinary course of business and also to refinance its existing debt portfolio," <keyword id="271065" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Pranab-Barua">Pranab Barua</keyword>, business director for apparel and retail business at <keyword id="44373" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Aditya-Birla-Group">Aditya Birla Group</keyword>, told ET.

ABRL is the fourth largest supermarket chain in India, featuring in the list after <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Kishore-Biyani-in-talks-to-raise-Rs-300-crore-for-FMCG-business/articleshow/50055279.cms">Future Group</a>, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/LYF-worth-could-be-1-billion-next-year/articleshow/52255160.cms">Reliance Retail </a>and <keyword id="3374400" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="DMart">D'Mart</keyword>. As of now, the authorised capital is Rs 390 crore, from which it is being planned to be increased to Rs 750 crore. 
 
Since its inception over 9 years ago, ABRL has seen losses of Rs 5,320 crore; however, for the year ended March 2015, the losses were reduced by 5% and brought down to Rs 571 crore. 
 
The reason behind this is said to be their strategy of focusing on <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/One-of-Aditya-Birlas-cos-is-heading-for-a-London-Stock-Exchange-listing-soon/articleshow/49448895.cms">profitable markets</a>.
