New Delhi, Feb 11 () Adani Transmission on Tuesday said it has sold 25.1 per cent stake in its arm Adani Electricity Mumbai Ltd (AEML) to Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) for approximately Rs 3,220 crore. "Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) has completed acquisition of 25.10 per cent stake in Adani Electricity Mumbai Ltd (AEML) from ATL (Adani Transmission Ltd) along with an investment in shareholder subordinated debt in AEML on 10 February, 2020," the transmission and distribution business arm of the Adani Group said in a filing to BSE. The total QIA investment in AEML is approximately Rs 3,220 crore, which includes equity consideration of approximately Rs 1,210 crore and shareholder subordinated debt of approximately Rs 2,010 crore, the filing said. The definitive agreements for the transaction were signed on December 11, 2019, and all the requisite approvals were received subsequently. AEML has recently completed an investment grade, USD 1 billion bond issuance, the first by a private integrated utility from India. The issue generated significant interest from international investors. The shares of Adani Transmission were trading at Rs 333.95 apiece on BSE, up 0.6 per cent from previous close. SID SID ANSANS

New Delhi, Dec 14 () Adani Transmission Ltd (ATL) on Saturday said it has received a Letter of Intent for a power transmission project in Maharashtra.
The Letter of Intent (LoI) to ATL has been awarded under a tariff based competitive bidding model from Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Ltd (MSETCL).
"ATL has received the LoI from MSETCL to build, own, operate and maintain a transmission project in Maharashtra for a period of 35 years," a company statement said.
The project 'Kharghar Vikhroli Transmission Pvt Ltd' comprises approximately 34 km of 400 kV and 220 kV transmission lines along with 400kV GIS (Gas Insulated Switchgear) Substation at Vikhroli in Mumbai. 
According to the statement, this will be the first ever 400 kV substation facility in Mumbai.
The project is critical to Mumbai as the existing capacity of transmission corridor is not sufficient to carry further power into the city. It would enable additional power to be brought into the city, thus helping in meeting the future demand of Mumbai. 
The project will also help bring down the cost of electricity for the people of Mumbai, it added. 
 ATL is the transmission and distribution business arm of Adani Group. It is the country's largest private transmission company with a cumulative transmission network of around 14,738 circuit kilometer. Adani Transmission gets LoI for project in Maharashtra

Mumbai, Jan 5 () Overall borrowings by India Inc from overseas markets grew 6.5 per cent to USD 2.12 billion in November 2019, the Reserve Bank data showed.
Domestic companies had borrowed over USD 1.99 billion in November 2018 from foreign sources.
Of the total foreign borrowing during the month, USD 2,11,53,22,022 was raised through the automatic route under the external commercial borrowing (ECB). 
No capital came in through the approval route, while the rest of USD 9,86,681 was by way of issuance of rupee denominated bonds (RDB).
The major borrowers in the automatic route of ECB were: Adani Transmission Ltd (USD 500 million for refinancing of rupee loans), Tata Motors Ltd (USD 400 million for rupee expenditure), Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (USD 300 million for new project) and JSW Steel Ltd (USD 250 million for refinancing of earlier ECB).
Among others, Home Credit India Finance raised USD 61.58 million for on-lending purpose, manufacturing firm Nipro India Corporation Private Ltd borrowed USD 52.1 million to carry out modernisation work, non-metallic mineral producer Owens-Corning (India) Private Limited raised USD 30 million for working capital needs, and Exxonmobil Services &amp; Technology Pvt Ltd borrowed USD 30 million for rupee expenditure.
Margdarshak Financial Services Limited, which is into micro finance business, except for insurance and pension funding, was the sole entity to raise the money by issuing the rupee bonds (popularly known as masala bonds). KPM MKJ

New Delhi, Feb 13 () Adani Transmission Ltd (ATL) on Thursday reported a 32.53 per cent rise in consolidated net profit at Rs 203.67 crore during the quarter ended December, mainly on account of lower expenses. The company had posted a net profit of Rs 153.67 crore in the year-ago period, ATL said in a BSE filing. During October-December, the company's income remained almost flat at Rs 2,835.72 crore as compared with Rs 2,834.10 in the year-ago quarter. Total expenses were lower at Rs 2,477.75 crore as against Rs 2,656.66 crore in October-December 2018. During December quarter, ATL received a Letter of Intent (LoI) for a 400 Kv power transmission project in Maharashtra, the company said in a statement. The LoI to ATL was awarded under a tariff based competitive bidding model from Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Ltd (MSETCL). ATL also signed share purchase agreements with REC Transmission Projects Company Ltd in November 2019 for acquisition of its entire stake in Lakadia Banaskantha Transco Limited (LBTL) and Jam Khambhaliya Transco Limited (JKTL), the statement added. Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani said there is huge potential and growth opportunities in India's transmission sector in the coming years.
