 The numbers are quite dismal after Day 4 (February 3) and the flick has grossed a paltry Rs 4.6 crore as per industry estimates. According to <keyword id="255727" type="COMPANY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Box-Office-India">Box Office India</keyword>, “<keyword id="1526690" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="One-By-Two">One By Two</keyword> fared poorly at the box office as it collected a little over Rs 1.50 crore nett over the weekend. The collections were around Rs 50 lakh nett on Friday and Saturday each while there was a little jump on Sunday to Rs 55 lakh nett (approx). The film is a disaster all over as some circuits hardly had any contribution.” 
 
The movie has been released on January 31 and has hit about 500 screens across India. But unless it witnesses some miraculous jump in collections, this one may not be able to recover the costs. 
 
Now, let’s have a look at the story itself and what it brings to the audience. One by Two revolves around the <keyword id="2045033" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Parallel-lives">parallel lives</keyword> of two people – <keyword id="49316" type="POSITION" weightage="60" keywordseo="Software-engineer">software engineer</keyword> Amit Sharma (Abhay) and <keyword id="2045034" type="POSITION" weightage="100" keywordseo="aspiring-dancer">aspiring dancer</keyword> Samara Patel (Preeti), born out of wedlock but trying to connect to her rich father. Both Amit and Samara have struggled to cope with their personal hard luck stories and a lot of coincidences bring them together, but not until the last scene. That may hit you hard, especially if you are waiting to watch some bubbly romance, while the surprising twists and turns are not enough to see the movie through. 
 At best, you get to see stereotypes – a jobless Amit dumped by his girlfriend; his loving mom (<keyword id="15316" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Rati-Agnihotri">Rati Agnihotri</keyword>) anxious to see her son settled and Samara’s alcoholic mom (<keyword id="12972" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Lillete-Dubey">Lillete Dubey</keyword>) helped by her daughter. There’s an extremely weak subplot – that of Amit hacking into a dance reality show to wreck the producer who is now dating his ex – which finally connects the central characters. 
 Serious movie-goers might have expected some Luis Buñuel-type <keyword id="2045045" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Neo-reality">neo-reality</keyword> in a plot where <keyword id="2045053" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Disjointed-storylines">disjointed storylines</keyword> suddenly converge. But the movie doesn’t step beyond the ground reality; nor does the urban sparkle contribute to the freshness of theme or originality of characters. The gags look tired after a time; the plot fails to impress in spite of endless possibilities and the lead duo can’t display the kind of acting prowess that would have broken the traditional mould and taken the flick to a new height of <keyword id="2045050" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Urban-isolation">urban isolation</keyword> and <keyword id="2045051" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Chance-connections">chance connections</keyword>.

Had a calling for clothes, colours & films says Manish Malhotra as he turns producer

Mumbai, <keyword id="2600924" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="rajveer-deol" source="Orion">Rajveer Deol</keyword>, the younger son of <keyword id="9271" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="sunny-deol" source="Orion">Sunny Deol</keyword>, says his family was not in favour of him joining the movie industry because of its unpredictable nature. Rajveer is making his acting debut with romantic drama "Dono", which also launches veteran actor <keyword id="346" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="poonam-dhillon" source="Orion">Poonam Dhillon</keyword> and producer Ashok Thakeria's daughter Paloma. The film is directed by first-time filmmaker Avnish, who is <keyword id="146044" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Sooraj-Barjatya" source="Orion">Sooraj Barjatya</keyword>'s son. "My parents never wanted me to become an actor. They wanted me to study and do something else. It's because this industry is so unpredictable. You are happy for a second and (feel) miserable the next. "In fact, my father got a hit ('Gadar 2') after 22 years. But unfortunately, I fell in love with acting," Rajveer told reporters here at the trailer launch of "Dono", which was attended by his grandfather Dharmendra, uncles Bobby Deol and Abhay Deol and father Sunny Deol. Rajveer said he fell in love with acting because he was surrounded by actors and thought "this is how you got the bread home". "I was always influenced by movies and loved acting. I felt one could just disguise themselves in the characters. So, this is what I wanted to do. My family advised me to work hard. They told me not to be a star and become an actor first as the characters will get more work and that is what I want to do," he added. Rajveer said his father Sunny Deol taught him to "never give up". "What dad has taught me is dedication and determination. He has the strongest back ever, he carries his whole life on his back..." Sunny Deol, who was present at the event, said he has seen "Dono" and as a parent he is full of pride, joy and confidence but he also feels scared. Dhillon said both the newcomers look good on the screen. "I was so happy that they were coming together after Sunny and I did such amazing films together, and people liked us onscreen a lot. They too (Rajveer and Paloma) look good together. I'm happy with the pairing because that's half the battle won when you compliment each other," she said, adding, she wants the two young actors to recreate the look of her and Sunny's 1984 film. Paloma said her parents have always supported her with her decisions. "I'm lucky because my parents have been supportive of anything that I do ever since I was a kid. When I decided to tell them that I'm serious about this profession, I don't think they expected it, but obviously they expressed how difficult this line is, how much goes into this craft and profession. I hope I'm making them proud," Paloma added. Rajveer said he consciously chose to make his debut with a romantic drama as people expected him to follow in his father and grandfather's footsteps and pick up an action film. "You need to have your own individual stamp in this industry, otherwise they expect you to follow your dad or grandfather's traits. I really liked the subject (of 'Dono') when Avnish narrated it to me because it was so different to what people would expect me to choose. "Like, they would expect me to choose to beat 100 people up, scream, and have a big body. I was in love with the craft and I love acting. I notice if I get typecasted in that, then it is not a good idea. It is important to have your own individual stamp in this industry," Rajveer said. Barjatya, the filmmaker behind hits such as "Maine Pyar Kiya", "Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!" and "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo", said he would have been equally happy had his son chosen education or medicine. "They chose films, so, of course, there's another feeling of pride. Their future only depends on hard work because hard work is your bread and butter. I told Avnish that when we receive love from people, it comes in abundance, so we need to be very grateful and full of value," he said. Avnish said he wanted to ensure that the film aligns with his father's legacy. "I had to see the legacy of my father, Sunny sir, Poonam ji, Rajshri brand, so that responsibility was always there in the back of my head. I couldn't take this opportunity lightly. (I wanted to) make a film that they all can be proud of," he said. "Dono" releases theatrically on October 5.

Family didn't want me to become an actor says Sunny Deol's son Rajveer Deol

The Delhi High Court on Wednesday reserved its order on a suit moved by real estate baron <keyword id="346814" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="sushil-ansal" source="Orion">Sushil Ansal</keyword> against the upcoming Web series 'Trial By Fire', which is based on the 1997 Uphar Cinema tragedy. Businessman Sushil <keyword id="11504" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="ansal" source="Orion">Ansal</keyword>, who was convicted in the Upahar Tragedy case, through a suit, sought a permanent and mandatory injunction restraining the production company and others from releasing the limited web series, which is slated for release on January 13, 2023, on the OTT platform Netflix. After hearing the submissions at length, the Bench of Justice <keyword id="3550431" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="yashwant-varma" source="Orion">Yashwant Varma</keyword> reserved the order in the matter. Appearing for Plaintiff Sushil Ansal, senior advocate <keyword id="1475168" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="siddharth-aggarwal" source="Orion">Siddharth Aggarwal</keyword> submitted that the plaintiff was held guilty under Section 304A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) -- causing death by negligence and not murder. "It is well settled that negligence excluded mens rea and therefore, to call the Plaintiff a 'murderer' and a killer in the Impugned Book is grossly defamatory and wilfully false," the court noted. Senior advocate Vikas Pahwa, appearing for Upahar Tragedy Victims Association (UPTVA), opposed the suit saying, "When the book was published, an application was filed in the Apex Court that they shouldn't be allowed to travel abroad. Notice was issued to them and reference of the book was in application." Appearing for Netflix, senior advocate Rahiv Nayar submitted that the plaintiff is not entitled to any relief as the book, on which this web series is based, is in the public domain since 2016 and is being given a character of a picture. The concept of the book has been transformed into a film. On January 4, when the official trailer was released, the plaintiff did not approach the court, Nayar said, adding that it only did so on January 10 "when we are scheduled to release it on January 13, 2023". The bestseller 'Trial By Fire: The Tragic Tale of the <keyword id="141756" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="uphaar" source="Orion">Uphaar</keyword> Fire Tragedy' was written by Neelam Krishnamoorthy and Shekhar Krishnamoorthy. The Netflix series stars Rajshri Deshpande and Abhay Deol as the authors Neelam and Shekhar. Businessman Sushil Ansal also sought restraint of further publication and circulation of the book, published by Penguin Random House Ltd. The suit further stated that the 'impugned series' is said to be based on true events pertaining to the tragic fire that took place on June 13, 1997, at Uphaar Cinema in Green Park, New Delhi. The official teaser/trailer for the series was released on January 4, with direct references to the plaintiff and the dramatized role of the plaintiff in the said incident and its aftermath, the suit said. The portrayal of the plaintiff in the trailer and teaser of the series has the propensity to cause further immense and irreparable harm to the Plaintiff's (Sushil Ansal) reputation and his right to life under Article 21 of the Constitution of India, it stated further. Ansal stated that the release of the series will lead to further prejudice and harm to him and will be in grave breach of his fundamental rights, inter alia, to privacy as envisaged by the Constitution, it stated. It said that on January 4, the plaintiff and his family "were shocked and perturbed to come across a trailer on the OTT platform of Netflix announcing the release of the Impugned Series titled 'Trial by Fire' starring prominent actors, produced by Endemol India Pvt Ltd and House of Talkies". On June 13, 1997, a fire broke out in the erstwhile Uphaar Cinema at Green Park, New Delhi, in which 59 people lost their lives and over 100 were injured. The fire broke out during the screening of the Hindi film 'Border'. Sushil Ansal, along with his brother and several others, were convicted in the case that came to be known as the 'Uphaar tragedy'. The owners of the Uphaar Cinema, Gopal and Sushil Ansal, were sentenced to a year in prison after they were found guilty of causing deaths by negligence. However, the latter was pardoned due to his old age. Delhi HC reserves order on suit seeking stay on release of web series based on Uphar cinema tragedy

YouTube’s error reads, “The video contains content from YRF, who has blocked it on copyright grounds.” In its campaign, 'Fitness is not an option', the female protagonist, who reenacts Simran from DDLJ, can be seen running towards the hero, only, she is too unfit to get onto that train, something many of us leading such unhealthy lifestyles will relate to immediately. As Simran makes a dash for the moving train, she starts panting and wheezing. She gives up and tells her partner that she will catch the next train to meet him the next day. Cult.fit has also deleted the advertisement and announcement posters referencing DDLJ from Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. The campaign is produced by Supari Studios. However, Cult.fit said that the advertisement was released after all due diligence. Mumbai, Jul 15 () On the ninth anniversary of "Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara", director Zoya Akhtar and cast members Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, Abhay Deol, and Katrina Kaif on Wednesday remembered shooting the film in Spain as the "best time ever". "Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara", a buddy road film, released on July 15, 2011, and also starred Kalki Koechlin, Deepti Naval and Naseeruddin Shah in key roles. Reminiscing the journey of making the film, Zoya said she would love to shoot the film again for old times' sake. "Can't believe it's nine years already. I remember every single day of that shoot. I was lucky to work with my favourite artists in the cast and crew. "Form friendships that will stay for life, grow up as a film maker.. and have an affair with Spain. If I could be taken back in time, I would choose to experience this shoot again!" the director said in a statement. She also shared a behind-the-scenes picture from the film sets on Instagram, captioning it as "Miss this shoot so so much". Commenting on her post, Hrithik said, "Things that make you wanna shout out. AAAI LOVE YOU GUYS !!! Truly the best times ever (sic)." "Uff! I'd make this film all over again just be back on set," added Abhay. Farhan said he is indebted to the audience for loving the film over the years. "Miss this shoot. Miss the crew. As content business is capital intensive, Jio which also has plans to go public to raise money, is awaiting some fund flow before it can get into the business. “The plans are ready and the teams are in place, but the hold-up is in the investments (into Jio) ,” sources told Economic Times. This is in spite of Mukesh Ambani’s statement at the annual general meeting last year. Their video consumption went up to 3.4 billion hours per month from 1.6 billion hours in 2018. “Doubling of these metrics at such scale is truly unparalleled. Our customers are actively engaged with us for more than 290 minutes per day on an average,” Ambani said at 2018 AGM. It is only natural that he brings this content viewership also home, into his own apps to create more value. But that dream is a bit far off. <keyword id="128682" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Netflix">Netflix</keyword>, Amazon &amp; Hotstar Jio has made few strides in the OTT space, after it acquired music app Saavn in 2018, and also saying that it would invest $100 million in it. The merged entity now has since been rebranded as JioSaavn, which claims to have 50 million songs in its kitty. Jio also has its own content platform, Jio Cinema which has movies along with TV series and clips. In spite of showcasing old TV series, movies and even new-age web series produced by AltBalaji, it is miles away in popularity from the reigning trio—Netflix, Amazon Prime and Hotstar. In addition, international content providers or OTT platforms are also going the extra mile to produce original India content, making it tougher for a newer Indian player to hold attention. These international players are putting money and star power behind their original content. While Netflix launched Leila starring Huma Quereshi in addition to ultra popular Saif Ali Khan-starrer Sacred Games and movies like Chopsticks which starred Abhay Deol, Amazon Prime too has spent millions on its new-age web show called Made in Heaven, Mirzapur after Four More Shots Please. Hotstar too launched its original series Hostages starring Tisca Chopra and Criminal Justice with actor Vikrant Massey. It is also doing an Indian version of popular US show The Office in Hindi. With this kind of money flowing into original content, delayed plans may affect Jio’s plans to have a lion’s share of digital offerings in the market.
