Mohit Suri’s Malang earns over ₹15 crore and bad reviews in two days

Here in, we have one sharp look at the professional journey of one of the most popular young actresses of Indian cinema. 
 
1. The first time we saw Shraddha Kapoor on the silver screen was when she donned the role of a studious geek Aparna Khanna who volunteers in a poker experiment. The year was 2010 and the movie that marked her debut was <keyword id="16035" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="100" keywordseo="Teen-Patti">Teen Patti</keyword>, in which she starred along Amitabh Bachchan and R. Madhavan. The movie could not do well at the box office, resulting in a career setback for Shraddha. 2. 3. After taking a year-long break, the young Kapoor lass returned to the screens with the musical romantic saga Aashiqui 2. The movie, which also had Aditya Roy Kapur, was highly successful and Shraddha Kapoor was noticed for her good looks as well as acting prowess. 
 
4. Next in line for the lady was a guest role in Dharma Productions’ Gori Tere Pyaar Mein, in which she played Vasudha, a Tamilian girl in love with a Sikh boy. The lead pair of the movie was Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor, and Shraddha’s role was limited to a few scenes. 
 
5. Came 2014 and Shraddha was seen as Ayesha in another musical romantic thriller Ek Villain. Her role was that of a young girl who falls in love with a goon and transforms him into a family man, only to be killed by a psychopath killer. Her role in the movie was limited to a few flashback scenes other than some songs, given the fact that her character gets killed in the first 15 minutes. 
 
6. Towards the end of 2014, we saw the pretty lady doing a role in Haider, for ace director Vishal Bhardwaj. She portrayed the role of Arshiya, a young Kashmiri journalist in love with the main lead, played by Shahid Kapoor. Her performance and hard work in the movie to get into the skin of a Kashmiri girl were appreciated. 
 
7. She also did an item number, called Dance Basanti, in the movie Ungli. 
 
8. In 2015, she would be seen in Remo D’souza’s next <keyword id="1870207" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="ABCD-2">ABCD 2</keyword>, which is the sequel to 2013’s ABCD: Any Body Can Dance. 9. She would also began shooting for Rock On 2, the sequel to Rock On!!, which released in 2008. The movie would also stars Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal and Purab Kohli and would be shot in Shillong. 
 
10. Other than acting, Shraddha Kapoor also has a passion for singing, given her relations with Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhonsle, two of India’s most reputed singers. Shraddha’s mother Shivangi Kapoor is the daughter of Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhonsle’s paternal aunt. Shivangi herself is a trained singer, and Shraddha has surely got her singing skills from her. Arijit most streamed singer in India in 2023; Taylor Swift dominates global chart

The movie showed them as two fate-crossed lovers, who unite to get tragically separated, but the crackling chemistry between the two actors made news all around, and the two have been rumoured (or wished for) to be a real-life couple ever since. 
 
However, their fans were not getting a chance to see the two of them together on the screen, given that both of them got busy with their respective careers, until now that is.

The film is the Hindi remake of OK Kanmani, the 2015 Tamil romantic movie directed by Mani Ratnam. It is to be directed by Shaad Ali, while having its lyrics penned by Gulzar; the music will be composed by AR Rahman, who had also given the music for the original Tamil film.

Google: Salman Khan is the most searched Bollywood actor in last 10yrs. No surprises there.

On September 19, two power packed movies will be clashing at the box office. On one hand, there is a <keyword id="1904667" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Daawat-E-Ishq">Daawat-E-Ishq</keyword> starring <keyword id="562349" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Parineeti-Chopra">Parineeti Chopra</keyword> and Aditya Roy Kapoor, while on the other hand, it is <keyword id="1089498" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="80" keywordseo="Khoobsurat">Khoobsurat</keyword>, a remake of 1980s Rekha starrer super-hit movie of the same name. 
 
Khoobsurat is a rom-com that looks to be different from the original movie. It’s also the debut movie for Fawad Khan, a popular Pakistani actor. The new Khan on the block has become the talk of the town because of his good looks and deep husky voice. 
 This movie is produced by Rhea Kapoor, Anil Kapoor and <keyword id="105230" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Siddharth-Roy-Kapur">Siddharth Roy Kapur</keyword>. As it is the first <keyword id="143" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Bollywood">Bollywood</keyword> film to be released under the Disney brand name, so people have high expectations from Khoobsurat, however the buzz for the flick is not too strong. 
 
We are expecting a 20-30% occupancy for Khoobsurat and there might be a chance of the movie picking up over the weekend due to positive word of mouth. 
 
Coming over to Daawat-E-Ishq, the pairing of the movie looks interesting. Both Parineeti and Aditya have had a good track record on the box office. Aditya Roy Kapoor was last seen in Aashiqui 2 and Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani, and both the movies got stupendous response on the box office. The same is also true for Parineeti, whose last two movies were Shuddh Desi Romance and Hasee Toh Phasee. However, things are not looking too bright for this movie either. We are hoping for a 30% occupancy for this movie, too. 
 
Amongst Daawat-E-Ishq and Khoobsurat, the former seems to have a better chance but we sure hope that both the movies manage to do a good business in the coming weeks.

During the promotional event of his last release Kick that Salman Khan’s bodyguards had a spat with photographers and the actor showed no sympathy. To make matters worse, he passed an apparently rude statement, “Those who want to cover the event are welcome to stay, the rest can leave if they wish." Naturally, this didn’t go down well with media, which decided to boycott the star till the release of the film.

According to reports, Aashiqui 2 actress allegedly made a group of photographers wait for two long hours and then finally refused to pose for photographs. This was after her last release Ek Villain became a hit. Though her father Shakti Kapoor came to her rescue but the media had already decided to ban her. The boycott continued till Shraddha personally met with the union of photographers and sorted the matter before the promotions of her upcoming movie, Haider began. 
 
Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan 
The royal couple faced the ire of media way back in 2010, when they reached at a promotional event quite late. Though Saif came up with an apology citing traffic as the reason for being late, but the journalists and photographers chose to walk away from the event without covering it.

The fact was recently revealed by Big B on his blog, in which he wrote that the ban came because the press apparently believed some sources, who claimed that Bachchan had supported the idea of Emergency and ban on press. During that period, media stringently decided to not cover AB in interviews, pictures and or news.

Although some movie buffs may notice a marked resemblance between Ek Villain and the Korean movie <keyword id="2258746" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="I-Saw-The-Devil">I Saw the Devil</keyword>, director Suri had earlier told the media that it was not so. “That’s just one dialogue that I have taken from the <keyword id="700143" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Korean-film">Korean film</keyword>’s promo, just like I have taken another dialogue from the film <keyword id="796794" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Jack-Reacher">Jack Reacher</keyword>,” Suri had told a daily. 
 Coming back to the movie itself, we must say that the ‘chill and thrill’ factor could have been more intense, especially when you have a <keyword id="1261139" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="psychopathic-killer">psychopathic killer</keyword> running loose, while the romantic part of the plot (gangster falling for the good girl) has been done to death by now and meanders a lot. In Ek Villain, all the key characters seem helplessly trapped in their own prisons and cannot get away. <keyword id="6410325" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="guru">Guru</keyword> (Sidharth Malhotra), a former hitman, only undergoes a temporary change when <keyword id="2396273" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Aisha-Verma">Aisha Verma</keyword> (Shraddha Kapoor) walks into his life. But he goes back to his original vengeful self when Aisha dies, not of terminal illness but murdered by a serial killer. However, it is Riteish Deshmukh (<keyword id="2396274" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Rakesh-Mahadkar">Rakesh Mahadkar</keyword>) who walks away with the honours. He is the perfect psychopath – an oppressed individual, a henpecked husband, a desperate lover and a ruthless killer all rolled in one. 
 Overall, the concoction of drama and <keyword id="1278055" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="melodrama">melodrama</keyword>, romance and terror has diluted the plot. But one still gets to see some fine performance and the flick is certainly a lot different from the routine Bollywood themes. And the best part of it all? Ek Villain has won hearts and set the cash register ringing.
