Vivo launches a campaign for Vivo V19 featuring Aamir Khan

After Bollywood’s superstar Shah Rukh Khan raised the issue that there was intolerance in the country, latest to join him is actor <keyword id="6355923" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Aamir-Khan">Aamir Khan</keyword>. 
 
Aamir, while speaking at an award ceremony of a news daily, said his wife Kiran Rao had asked if they should move out of the country, as she feared for the safety of their children in a climate of insecurity. 
 
Following the Dadri lynching case, many people have raised their concerns over intolerance and sparked debates. So much so that writers, academicians, historians, etc even returned their awards. 
 
“There is an increased sense of despondency over the past 6-8 months. Important that those in power strongly condemn what's wrong. Historians, scientists have had a view to express. Returning awards is one way of getting your point across," said Aamir. 
 
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in UK, had said that there was no place in intolerance in the country. 
 
"Any event in any corner of India - it doesn't matter if there are even one or two incidents - we will not tolerate it and the law will deal with it strictly. India is a vibrant democracy where the lives, views and thoughts of ordinary citizens are protected under the Constitution. We are committed to this," Modi had said in the UK. 
 
However, Aamir’s statement was slammed by another Bollywood actor Anupam Kher. 
 
He took to microblogging site Twitter and condemned Aamir’s remarks on intolerance in India.

Aamir Khan says India is unlivable, increasingly intolerant. His wife suggested moving out of India

<keyword id="6354477" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Narendra-Modi">Narendra Modi</keyword> isn’t the only Indian in recent times, Chinese went gaga over. If media reports are to be believed, <keyword id="6355923" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Aamir-Khan">Aamir Khan</keyword>’s PK has earned a revenue of whopping $7.03 million. 
 
PK, which released last Friday at the Chinese theatres, was liked by the audience in China. 
 
 Amrita Pandey of UTV Motion Pictures, which co-produced the film along with Aamir Khan, Vidhu Vinod Chopra and <keyword id="6354633" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Rajkumar-Hirani">Rajkumar Hirani</keyword>, told news agency IANS, "We are thrilled with the audience response in China. Aamir Khan, Rajkumar Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra travelled across China with our marketing team promoting the film and culminated this with a grand premiere in Shanghai for the film." 
 
Aamir Khan's PK, which became the best performing Indian film abroad of all time has now crossed the Rs 200 crore milestone overseas. 
 
"It was such a warm reception for them in China and now the movie has become a talking point and opened to such phenomenal collections! This is a really proud moment for us, and we are happy to have made this impact in a new market," she added. 
 
When it was released in India and other countries in December last year, PK shattered records not just at home but also in Australia, New Zealand and Pakistan where it is the highest earning Indian film now. It is the highest grossing foreign language movie in <keyword id="6378080" type="COUNTRY" weightage="20" keywordseo="North-America">North America</keyword> of 2014, claims IANS report. 
 
The Chinese dubbed PK has opened in 4,600 screens across the country. This is the first time an Indian film has received such widest releases overseas. 
 
Aamir Khan, director Rajkumar Hirani and producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra had recently visited China to promote the film, which premiered in Shanghai on May 13.

The duo has been voted ahead of celebrity vegetarians Amitabh Bachchan, Alia Bhatt, Kangana Ranaut, Shahid Kapoor, R Madhavan and Dhanush.

Taking a dig at actor Aamir Khan over his much-hyped intolerance remarks, Home Minister <keyword id="6355121" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Rajnath-Singh">Rajnath Singh</keyword>'s has paid a fitting tribute to BR Ambedkar, the father of the Constitution. 
 
"(BR Ambedkar) had to go through condemnation, insult and barbs, but he controlled his emotion and put forth and took an objective view for India. He never said how he was being ignored and insulted in India. He said I will stay in India and keeping India's values and culture in mind, I will strengthen the country," Mr Singh was quoted saying, as he was opening a special discussion on the Constitution in Parliament, being held to mark the 125th birth anniversary of Dr Ambedkar. 
 
The whole debate started when actor Aamir Khan gave a statement that hinted at his wife Kiran Rao’s growing fear because of the increasingly violent environment in the country. 
 
"When I chat with Kiran at home, she says, 'should we move out of India?' That's a disastrous and big statement for Kiran to make. She fears for her child. She fears what the atmosphere around us will be. She feels scared to open the newspapers every day. That does indicate that there is this sense of growing disquiet, there is growing despondency apart from alarm," he had said. 
 
However, after being criticized and trolled for his comments, the actor clarified his stand in a Facebook post that went like this.

New Delhi, Feb 14 () Digital payments firm PhonePe on Friday said it has earmarked Rs 800 crore for marketing this year, to create awareness about the platform and expand its reach. The company roped in Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt, who has joined Aamir Khan as brand ambassador. "PhonePe has earmarked Rs 800 crore for marketing in this calendar year, which will include spends on a mix of ATL, BTL, TV, digital marketing and other advertising mediums. PhonePe has also roped in Alia Bhatt, who has joined Aamir Khan as the brand ambassador and will feature in the upcoming ad films," the company said in a statement. The company claims to have around 20 crore customers across the country. "Our vision is to liberate the flow of money and services so that everyone can unlock opportunities to progress at pace. Crafted with this belief, our new brand campaign is a reflection of everyday stories of progress with PhonePe.
