Telecom major Bharti <keyword id="15491" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Airtel">Airtel</keyword> on Monday launched a new platform called Airtel IQ, marking the company's entry into an estimated $1 billion Indian cloud communications market. Airtel IQ, a cloud-based omni-channel communications platform, is designed to enable brands to deepen engagement with customers through timely and secure communication. Many of India's biggest companies such as Swiggy, Justdial, Urban Company, Havells, Dr. Lal Path Labs and Rapido have signed up as customers for Airtel IQ during the beta phase itself, the company said. "Businesses are increasingly looking to cloud-based digital platforms to engage with consumers and Airtel IQ is built to raise the bar when it comes to brands delighting consumers," Adarsh Nair, Chief Product Officer, Bharti Airtel, meanwhile, had this to say "So, the next time you enjoy shopping online, ordering food from your favourite restaurant or hailing a ride, remember there's a bit of Airtel IQ in there making it happen seamlessly and safely." Airtel forays into cloud communications market in India

Mumbai, Dec 17 () The UAE-based investment firm Foundation Holdings on Tuesday said it has tied up with Ryan International Group and will infuse USD 100 million into an education joint venture over the next five years.
 The two entities will focus on the K-12 education segment to launch a managed school platform 'Ryan EduNation', an official statement said.
 "With USD 100 million investment committed to Ryan EduNation over the next five years, our ambition is to adopt a scalable partnership model by empowering educational institutions and passionate land owners across India to create a platform of change and impact," Aakash Sachdev, managing director of Foundation Holdings, said.
 Ryan, which has 137 schools in 40 cities with 2.70 lakh students, will focus on the education, while Foundation Holdings will be the investment partner.
 The joint venture, under the brand name Ryan EduNation, has already made an acquisition of the managed school platform India Education Services that has 18,000 students across the country, the statement said.
 The statement cited a study by Technopak, an advisory firm, which pegged the education market to be a USD 100 billion opportunity and the digital learning as a USD 2 billion one.
 "Through Ryan EduNation, our vision is to provide quality education to 2 lakh students annually by 2030," Ryan International Group of Institution CEO Ryan Pinto said. AA HRS

Many private hospitals having ICU with ventilator ward facilities have already run out of beds. Of the 93 <keyword id="8763838" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="covid-19">Covid-19</keyword> hospitals where ICU with ventilators facility is available, 23 showed full occupancy on the Delhi government's Corona App till Wednesday morning. The availability of ICU beds with ventilators in these hospitals has gone down to zero. Such hospitals include giant private and corporate names like Max, Fortis, Indraprastha Apollo, and Aakash Healthcare. The Center-run Ram Manohar Lohia and municipality-owned Hindu Rao hospitals, which are among the 74 out of the 93, have less than five beds with ICU and ventilator facility in each. The doctors said they have been observing this scene for the last 15-20 days since the cases in Delhi spiked after hitting a plateau. "We have been facing this scenario since mid-August," said Avi Kumar, Senior Consultant Pulmonology at Fortis Escorts Heart Institute in Okhla. Despite this, the majority of the influx to these hospitals have come from cities in other states. As per a rough estimate, 60-70 per cent beds have been occupied by the patients from different cities who came to Delhi for treatment. Besides, the patients are taking longer to recover, as well. "People are coming from cities like Lucknow and Varanasi for the treatment in Delhi hospitals. They are taking more than two weeks, at least for the recovery. However, many patients develop residual symptoms, and they take an additional two weeks to cope with post-Covid trauma," added Avi Kumar. "A particular set of patients are taking more time to recover. These patients have pre existing co-morbidities like uncontrolled diabetes. Many patients are on high-flow oxygen for over a month," said Akshay Budhraja, a senior pulmonologist at Aakash healthcare super speciality Hospital, Dwarka. Budhraja also said that 30 per cent of Corona patients in his hospital are severely sick and could be put on ventilator support in the coming days. "So we will not see empty beds anytime soon," he added. The situation could lead to further crisis. The daily infection of Covid-19 in the national capital, which was limited to under 1,000 for a while, have started recording more than 1,700 cases in the past seven days. On two occasions, the cases crossed the 2,000-mark as well. The doctors are alarmed by the trend and fear that if it continues, the city may face acute shortage of ICU beds again in coming days, especially for severe cases coming from the capital. "As we are heading towards a second wave of the Covid-19, things are bound to get worse from here. The economic activities have reinstated, the metro is planned to run in the coming days, and people are back to carelessness in following safety measures. In this situation, we may face the ICU beds crisis again," said Pankaj Solanki, who runs Dharamveer Solanki Hospital, a dedicated Covid facility in Rohini. Many private hospitals in Delhi run out of ICU beds as COVID-19 cases spike

Being over hyped for its IIT JEE culture and too much of stress-related suicides happening, the small town of Kota has already gained too much ill repute. And now Hyderabad is outshining the Rajasthan’s small town in terms of success. 
 
While the number of coaching institutes catering to the IIT aspirant crowd are mushrooming every season in Hyderabad, this year at least 1.5 lakhs of students have joined the race. 
 
"The fascination among students in Telangana and AP for JEE has only increased over the years. It is only in the last one decade that there has been a sudden rise in the number of takers. The coaching industry has only catered to the increasing demand," Dheeraj Kumar Misra, regional director, operations, south zone at Aakash Educational Services Pvt Ltd told The Times of India. 
 
In the 90s, the number of aspirants was barely 3000, which has now pumped up to 1.5 lakh. Hyderabad has dominated the merit list with almost 50 percent of the top 10 rankers for the past several years. If the results for JEE (advanced) 2016 are anything to go by, then six out of top 10 rankers were from Hyderabad.

Mumbai, Feb 27 () Pune-based billionaire businessman Adar Poonawalla of the Serum Institute has invested Rs 12 crore in independent cookie brand Sweetish House Mafia. The funding is part of the pre-series A round of the company started by Aakash Sethi and Neha Sethi, MBA holders from Massachusetts University and Wharton Business School, respectively. The funds will be used for aggressive expansion in current markets and to enter newer cities, besides expanding the product line, the founders told on Thursday. The funds will also be deployed for newer business vertical and e-commerce platform, they added. Claiming to be the city's first home-grown cookie brand, Sweetish House Mafia was founded in 2013. It initially sold cookies on a car to customers on the move in Mumbai. Some of its popular products include its signature Nutella sea salt, double chocolate chip and classic chocolate chip cookie. It also sells cookie shakes, cookie sundaes and plain milk cookies. The cookies are available across Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru and Kolkata.
