An ASSOCHAM study shows that with 2.6 lakh new <keyword id="11018" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Jobs">jobs</keyword>, Delhi-NCR (National Capital Region) has created the highest number of jobs during the fourth quarter of the last fiscal. This figure's relevance is understood only when you know that in the same period a total of 8.5 lakh jobs were created in eight major new cities. During January to March 2016, Delhi was followed by Bengaluru (1.9 lakh jobs), Mumbai (1.5 lakh), Chennai (82.2 thousand) and Hyderabad (60 thousand). About 88.9% of job openings have been recorded in these top five cities, said the <keyword id="3382215" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="ASSOCHAM-placement-study">ASSOCHAM placement study</keyword>. 

	"Among top metro cities, Delhi-NCR had maximum share of over 30.1% in job creation while Bengaluru witnessed a 23.4% contribution in job creation, followed by Mumbai with 18.6%," said DS Rawat, secretary general of ASSOCHAM. 
 

	As per the study, other major cities that have recorded significant job openings during January to March 2016 are Pune (49.2 thousand), Kolkata (25.2 thousand) and Ahmedabad (20.5 thousand). 
 Going sector-wise, Information technology (IT), IT-enabled services (ITeS) and the IT hardware sector together accounted for a majority share of about 60.6% in the total number of new jobs generated across sectors during January - March 2016, while services has ranked second with 17.6% share followed by manufacturing (9.4%), banking, financial services &amp; insurance (7.6%) and construction &amp; real estate (3.2%) in total <keyword id="6355127" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="employment">employment</keyword> generation in July.

A report has pointed out some shocking results about the state of business education in india, which takes pride in having a huge number of business schools spread across the country. The report says that excluding a handful of <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Top-11-MBA-colleges-in-India/articleshow/51356925.cms">top business schools</a> like the IIMs, most Indian B-schools are producing below-quality graduates who are not employable, which makes them earn less than Rs 10,000 a month, just in case they are able to find a job. 
 
As for the reasons behind this, the report counts the lack of quality control and infrastructure, low-paying jobs through campus placement and poor faculty in B-schools. 
 
Talking in numbers, India has at least 5,500 B-schools operational right now, and this is when we don’t include unapproved institutes, says the Assocham report. 
 "Only 7 per cent of MBA graduates from <keyword id="612463" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="indian-business-schools">Indian business schools</keyword>, excluding those from the top 20 schools, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/B-school-students-are-believing-in-Indias-growth-story-andtaking-up-less-offers-overseas/articleshow/51454136.cms">get a job </a>straight after completing their course," it found. 
 
"Around 220 B-schools have shut down in the last two years in Delhi-NCR (National Capital Region), Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Hyderabad, Dehradun etc. and at least 120 more are expected to wind up in 2016," it added. "Low education quality coupled with the economic slowdown, from 2014 to 2016, campus recruitments have gone down by a whopping 45 per cent," the study revealed. 
 
Despite this, we are seeing a surge in the number of <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/HUL-tops-Indian-B-schools-placements/articleshow/51714351.cms">B-school </a>seats, which has tripled in the last five years. 
 
After spending, on an average, nearly Rs 3-5 lakh on a two-year <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Top-9-international-colleges-where-Indians-are-pursuing-MBA/articleshow/51581562.cms">MBA programme</a>, each student currently draws a meager monthly salary of Rs 8,000 to Rs 10,000. 
 
"Even the quality of IIM/IIT students coming out now compared to last 15 years has come down due to the quality of school education. The faculty is also another problem as few people enter the teaching profession due to low salaries and the entire eco-system needs to be revamped," said the report. 
 
Talking of <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Startups-plan-over-3-fold-jump-in-recruitments-eye-top-engineering-business-schools/articleshow/49241642.cms">engineers</a>, the fastest growing career choice amongst Indians in recent years, the report observed that out of 15 lakh engineering graduates that India produces in a year, 20 to 30% do not find jobs at par with their technical qualification.

However, when it comes to getting a job, the picture is not that rosy. Lately, MBA professionals have been struggling to get jobs. "You see some students who do not get placed take up small jobs; some others get placed in some company one or two years after graduating. Now, with mandatory internships, we feel the situation will improve as the students will get some kind of training while studying,” Anil Sahasrabudhe, chairman of the <keyword id="67338" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="all-india-council-of-technical-education">All India Council of Technical Education</keyword>, told Times of India. The worst hit are Tier-B schools where students are struggling to get jobs. An <keyword id="6355988" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="assocham">ASSOCHAM</keyword> study, conducted last year, stated only 7% of MBA graduates from Indian business schools, excluding those from the top 20 colleges, get a job straight after completing their course. DS Rawat, general secretary of the chamber, says “There are various factors, domestic and international which are extremely important and will determine the market trends for the coming year like global market movements; strengthening of the US dollar (USD) as well as Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI’s) action on interest rates and visible improvement in corporate earnings at the domestic level. Also overall positive shift in terms of Global markets will surely benefit the Indian equities market too,” The market can anticipate more movement in the primary market which includes both public issue and private placement of shares. Rawat says, “The primary market segment more specifically the IPO (Initial Public Offering) is expected to have good movement in the year 2015 following the good secondary market growth as well positive investor’s sentiments.” 
	 He also emphasized on the pivotal role that market regulator <keyword id="35210" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="sebi">SEBI</keyword> plays in the larger picture. “The role of market regulator is also very important for the growth of a nation’s capital market. SEBI, lately as a proactive regulator, has cracked down heavily on errants without any fear. Lots of actions have been taken against large entities mobilizing illegal money as well as and further serious investigations as well as stringent actions are being taken cracking down entities involving into market manipulations as well as black money mobilization into the capital markets. The quantum of penalties too have been increased many folds,” said Rawat. 
	 
	It should be noted that SEBI has cracked its whip on realty giant DLF as well as its top executives last year and barred it from entering the capital markets for three years for alleged bogus transactions as well as hiding information at the time of its Initial Public Offering (IPO). 
	However, the chamber was quick to note that SEBI should also have a balanced approach as over regulation and harsh punishments could upset India Inc. as well as the intermediaries in the market. 
	 Apart from stricter regime by SEBI, the chamber highlighted that the introduction of new measures such as Real Estate Investments Trusts (<keyword id="6425786" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="REITs">REITs</keyword>), Foreign Portfolio Investors (<keyword id="725142" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="FPI">FPI</keyword>) Regulations 2014 and Infrastructure Investment Trusts (InvIT) Regulations 2014, will also boost the movement in the capital markets. 
	 
	It is worth noting that the total investments made by foreign investors under FPI between January 2014 and December 2015 is nearly $42 billion while $26.4 billion was invested in debt market and $16.40 billion were invested in the equities market last calendar year. 
	 
	“During the Calendar year 2014 around Rs 39, 127 crore were raised in the Public Equity market. In the funds so raised, the substantial raising had been through QIPs with almost Rs 31, 684 crore being raised from institutional investors (almost 81% of the total fund raised in the capital market). Offers for Sale through Stock Exchanges (OFS) dropped to merely Rs 5,000 crore** in the calendar year as compared to the past year,” reveals the study.
