With an aim to keep pace with the digital lives of the customers of <keyword id="41634" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="ABN-Amro">ABN AMRO</keyword>, Indian IT consulting firm <keyword id="6354512" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Infosys">Infosys</keyword> on Feb 18 announced a multi-year, multimillion-dollar partnership with the Amsterdam-headquartered bank. 
 
Frans van der Horst, senior managing director, group chief information officer, ABN AMRO, “Redesigning our entire IT infrastructure efficiently and flawlessly is an intrinsic part of this journey. Infosys has been one of our partners for over a decade and brings deep understanding of our business to be a partner of our choice in driving this change.” 
 
As part of this new move, Infosys will deliver services across application development and maintenance, testing and product implementation. 
 Mohit Joshi, executive vice-president and global head, <keyword id="6354241" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Financial-Services">Financial Services</keyword>, Infosys says, “Trends in industrialization and digitalization are helping the global banking industry to become more customer centric. Our knowledge of the financial services industry, combined with our long standing relationship with ABN AMRO, has helped us emerge as one of the strategic partners in the bank’s transformative journey to achieve new competitive advantages.” 
 
The Bengaluru-based IT will help the bank justify its IT landscape to meet its goal of becoming a leading digital bank, which will include improvements to service quality and customer experience, greater operational efficiency, employee satisfaction and agility. 
 
According to the initiative Infosys will leverage key trends in the banking industry, including industrialisation and digitalisation to help the bank.

ABN AMRO chooses Infosys as its strategic partner

Sunil Mittal-led <keyword id="6354287" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Bharti-Airtel">Bharti Airtel</keyword> is likely to acquire <keyword id="6359475" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Tata-Teleservices">Tata Teleservices</keyword>, which is seen as an alternative to <keyword id="6374742" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tata-Tele">Tata Tele</keyword> merging with state-owned <keyword id="30351" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="BSNL">BSNL</keyword>. As per a report by London-based CCS Insight, a global mobile and wireless market information and intelligence provider, the Indian telecom sector will consolidate into a four-operator market in coming three years. The report, 'Halcyon Days Ahead in a Four-Operator Market', was published after a survey with 57 telecom M&amp;A influencers. As per the survey, 68% of the experts nodded to a four-operator market would prevail by 2020. "The only reason for Airtel to consider a deal with the Tatas will be to maintain leadership in revenue market share. The deal between <keyword id="15492" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Vodafone">Vodafone</keyword> and Idea threatens to take Airtel's leadership here, and thus Sunil Mittal may counter this through such deals if they come at an attractive price," a top industry analyst told ET, requesting anonymity. As per the report, Tata Tele is likely to be subsumed by Bharti Airtel, 22% said a deal with BSNL was possible and 32% said it could merge with another network operator. "From structuring and approval perspectives, the easiest transaction would be for Tata Teleservices to be subsumed by Bharti Airtel. Our view is that the main alternative is a tie-up with BSNL, but other combinations exist, such as a complex merger with the Reliance Communications-Aircel business," said the report authored by Tony Worthington, a former Standard Chartered and ABN AMRO banker, who has been involved with Indian telecom industry since 1995.

Airtel may acquire Tata Teleservices to maintain leadership in revenue market share

<a href="https://in.linkedin.com/pub/shubhodip-pal/0/b04/53" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Shubhodip Pal</a>, who had quit Indian handset company <keyword id="71696" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Micromax">Micromax</keyword> Informatics in February 2015, has joined <keyword id="766823" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Balaji-Motion-Pictures">Balaji Motion Pictures</keyword> Ltd as CEO. Pal had spent two years as Chief Marketing Officer at Micromax. 
 
Balaji Motion Pictures is the sister company of Balaji Telefilms. It entered the Indian motion pictures business in 2002. The company operates the Motion Pictures Division through its wholly owned subsidiary. 
 
Till 2011, the company had produced and/or acquired 17 films, including Bhool Bhulaiyaa and Sarkar Raj. Balaji Motion Pictures was set up in 2001 by Hindi television producer <keyword id="6354597" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Ekta-Kapoor">Ekta Kapoor</keyword> with the purpose of venturing into film production. The company is based in Mumbai in the Balaji House on New Link Road, Andheri West, Mumbai. 
 
Pal has over 18 years of consumer marketing experience in launching, building and managing brands from consumer durables to the banking/financial, IT hardware sector and Telecom Services sector, having worked on the whole spectrum of marketing, specialize in Product Management, Retail, Marketing Comunications, Media, Sports and Entertainment Marketing, Online, Mobile Marketing.

In response, thousands of people have organized sit-ins, rallies, and protests at Standing Rock and other cities since early 2016.To build on that effort, a growing movement, called #defundDAPL, wants to get at the pipeline's funders where it may hurt them the most: their wallets.At least 36 banks have provided multimillion-dollar loans to four companies that built and fund the DAPL (Dakota Access LLC, Energy Transfer Partners, Energy Transfer Equity, and Sunnoco). "The most frustrating thing is when people go to a rally against the DAPL, but then they go to Citibank right away and put in money. People don't recognize the link, but we're hoping that, with this movement, they start to.
