DELHI/ BANGALORE: Within 23 days of its stunning debut in the Delhi assembly election, the appeal of <keyword id="6354944" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="60" keywordseo="Aam-Aadmi-Party">Aam Aadmi Party</keyword> appears to have spread across the country, from north to south, west to east. Donations are pouring in and volunteers are lining up to join the party, including some senior corporate leaders who are chucking up prized jobs to work with <keyword id="6356115" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="AAP">AAP</keyword>. 
 In Bangalore, V Balakrishnan, the <keyword id="6354512" type="CITY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Infosys">Infosys</keyword> board member once seen as a future CEO, who quit the company last month, said on Wednesday he had joined AAP. In Mumbai, <keyword id="48669" type="POSITION" weightage="40" keywordseo="banker">banker</keyword> Meera Sanyal, the Harvard Business School-educated head of <keyword id="65497" type="CITY" weightage="40" keywordseo="Royal-Bank-of-Scotland">Royal Bank of Scotland</keyword>, has quit to join AAP. Adarsh Shastri, grandson of former Indian <keyword id="71" type="POSITION" weightage="40" keywordseo="Prime-Minister">Prime Minister</keyword> Lal Bahadur Shastri, resigned as head of sales for Apple in western India to join Kejriwal. 
 
And donations to AAP have spiraled. On Wednesday, the party had collected almost Rs 38 lakh from online donations till 10pm. This has been the highest collection in a day so far, barring two days – one when Shanti Bhushan donated it Rs 1 crore and another day when a Singapore-based sympathizer had sent in Rs 50 lakh. 
 Until the Delhi elections, AAP was receiving on an average Rs 6-7 lakh a day. It stopped collections once it reached its target of Rs 20 crore. Fund collection resumed on December 13, when the party formally announced its intention to contest the 2014 <keyword id="6355187" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="40" keywordseo="Lok-Sabha">Lok Sabha</keyword> elections. Since then, the average collection has been around Rs 17.5 lakh a day. 
 
The number of people flocking to the party has seen a dramatic rise. Since December 8, 2013, when the Delhi election results were announced, 3.03 lakh volunteers have joined AAP across the country and over 1 lakh have become members. "These figures are of those joining online and don't include volunteers and members who have registered manually at party offices. The party's membership fee is Rs 10 but people below 18 years of age cannot become members. Similarly government officials cannot become members. Such people instead register as volunteers," said Ankit Lal, who handles AAP's online campaign. 
 One of those joining online is Balakrishnan, who was on the CEO track at Infosys before he quit. He told media on Wednesday that he had paid the Rs 10 AAP membership fee but said it was too early to talk about his role in the party. Balakrishnan's entry into AAP pits him against his long-time Infosys colleague Nandan Nilekani, who is tipped to be the <keyword id="1575" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="60" keywordseo="Congress">Congress</keyword> candidate from the South Bangalore in the LS elections. Balakrishnan described AAP as the most successful startup ever by an IIT-ian and said he wanted to be part of the revolution that AAP was bringing about in the country. 
 
AAP's online campaign, managed by a young and tech-savvy team, is rarely short of ideas. The most recent — one of the reasons for the spike in collections on Wednesday – was a simple message: ‘Donate Rs 2014 in the year 2014'. Till 10pm, 1,273 people had donated Rs 2014 or more. "It started with one volunteer wanting to donate Rs 2014 to mark the New Year. We decided to put it up on the party page and it seemed to have caught the fancy of a lot of people," said Lal. 
 AAP suddenly grabbing national attention hasn't gone unnoticed by political parties, with leaders either racheting up their criticism of the newbie or acknowledging the potency of AAP's politics. On Wednesday, Congress's <keyword id="227742" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="40" keywordseo="Mumbai-MP">Mumbai MP</keyword> <keyword id="56431" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Sanjay-Nirupam">Sanjay Nirupam</keyword> took a cue from the <keyword id="6354952" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="40" keywordseo="Delhi-Government">Delhi government</keyword>'s decision to slash power tariff by threatening to launch an agitation if the <keyword id="6356172" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="40" keywordseo="Maharashtra-government">Maharashtra government</keyword> too didn't cut electricity charges. 
 In neighbouring Goa, <keyword id="5269" type="POSITION" weightage="40" keywordseo="Chief-Minister">chief minister</keyword> <keyword id="6363133" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Manohar-Parrikar">Manohar Parrikar</keyword> – an IIT alumnus like Kejriwal – appeared to be praising the AAP leader at a time when some of his colleagues in Delhi have sharpened their criticism of AAP, possibly because they feel more threatened by it. Parrikar said, "He (Kejriwal) has shown the right intent. Let us see if he can deliver." 
 
CPM general secretary Prakash Karat on Wednesday said his party considers AAP to belong to non-Congress, non-BJP political forces — a space that CPM seeks to create and promote. He said any alliance with AAP would depend on how it evolved on the political and policy platforms, on whether it would be anti communalism and against "neo-liberal economic policies". 
 
In Ahmedabad, former BJP MLA Kanu Kalsariya, a gynaecologist who had led the agitation against Nirma's cement plant in his Gariadhar constituency, joined AAP on Wednesday. He admitted that he was about to join Congress, but now saw AAP as "a symbol of people's power." 
 There have been reports about BJP and Congress being worried by the new kid on the block. For starters, they joined hands to quickly pass the Lokpal Bill. Since then, Congress leaders like Digvijay Singh have claimed that AAP's programme was similar to that of <keyword id="5268" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Rahul-Gandhi">Rahul Gandhi</keyword>'s, while the BJP brass has reportedly met to assess the impact of AAP in the coming LS polls.

AAP grabs national attention; volunteers, funds pour in

New Delhi, The <keyword id="19914482" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="aap" source="keywords">AAP</keyword> on Friday claimed the CBI is planning to arrest Delhi Chief Minister Arvind <keyword id="19895701" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="kejriwal" source="keywords">Kejriwal</keyword> in the next few days and will serve him a notice by the evening. While the party did not say in which case Kejriwal is likely to be arrested, it said that this was being done to prevent the AAP from stitching an alliance with the Congress for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections as the <keyword id="19894848" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="bjp" source="keywords">BJP</keyword> is scared of the two parties coming together. While there was no immediate response from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to the AAP's claims, the BJP said AAP leaders are trying to create confusion and generate sympathy for Kejriwal. The Congress and the AAP are likely to have a seat-sharing pact in Delhi, Gujarat and Haryana for the Lok Sabha polls and the talks between the two sides are in the final stages, sources said on Thursday. Addressing a press conference here, Delhi cabinet minister and senior AAP leader <keyword id="19945966" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="saurabh-bharadwaj" source="keywords">Saurabh Bharadwaj</keyword> said as soon as reports of finalisation of seat-sharing talks between the Congress and the AAP started coming in, the ED sent a seventh summons to Kejriwal in the excise policy case. "We have learnt from reliable sources that the CBI is planning to arrest Kejriwal. The CBI will also serve a notice to Kejriwal either this afternoon or by the evening," Bharadwaj said. Kejriwal will be arrested in the next two to three days, he said. "We are getting messages that if the AAP-Congress alliance is formed, Arvind Kejriwal will be arrested. The BJP is scared of the AAP-Congress alliance. You can arrest Kejriwal if you want, but the alliance will be forged," he said. The Enforcement Directorate has issued a fresh summons to Kejriwal asking him to appear before it for questioning in the Delhi excise policy-linked money laundering case on February 26, sources said on Thursday. This is the seventh summons issued by the ED to the chief minister, who skipped the previous six. AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sandeep Pathak said people will take to the streets if Kejriwal is arrested. "There will be a tsunami. Their (BJP) political calculations will go wrong. We are not scared of being arrested. We are forging this alliance for the country," he said. Delhi BJP president <keyword id="20040814" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="virendra-sachdeva" source="keywords">Virendra Sachdeva</keyword> said Kejriwal knows that the talks on the AAP's alliance with the Congress are failing but AAP leaders have been spreading rumours since Thursday and are trying to generate sympathy for the chief minister. "Kejriwal may delay his punishment with the help of lawyers but ultimately, the people of Delhi will punish him harshly in the coming elections," the BJP leader said. The AAP and Kejriwal should remember that Congress leader Ajay Maken had submitted the first written complaint to the lieutenant governor regarding the liquor "scam" under his government, Sachdeva said. The BJP won all the seven seats in Delhi with 51 per cent votes in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls and 59 per cent in 2019. In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the people of Delhi will give 70 per cent votes to the BJP, he asserted.

CBI to arrest Kejriwal in few days, will serve him notice by evening: AAP

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)'s <keyword id="101521" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="bhagwant-mann" source="Orion">Bhagwant Mann</keyword>, who on Thursday won the Dhuri seat with a margin of 58,206 votes, is set to become Punjab's next chief minister. AAP is heading to a landslide win in the 117-member legislative Assembly by leading at over 90 seats. In his first public address in his home town Sangrur after winning the seat and seeing the meteoric rise of the party, Mann promised to fix unemployment as his first task in office. "No government office in the state will have the photo of the Punjab CM, but will carry a portrait of B.R. Ambedkar." Mann said he will take oath as the Chief Minister in Bhagat Singh's ancestral village Khatkar Kalan and not in Raj Bhawan. "We will ensure that the youth do not have to go abroad... Within a month, you will observe changes," he added. Taking a dig at the opposition leaders, he said, "The elder Badal has lost...Captain (Amarinder Singh) Sahab has also lost. Majithia is also losing. Channi has also lost from both seats." The AAP is leading in 91 of 117 seats in the Punjab Assembly, as per the Election Commission of India (ECI) website at 1.10 p.m. The Congress was leading in 17 seats so far. For the AAP that was banking on 'Hun ek mauka Kejriwal nu (now one chance to Kejriwal)' -- arguably one of the biggest advertisement blitz campaigns -- two-time MP, Mann, took the lead as the chief minister's face. In the 2017 Assembly elections, the AAP had made inroads among Jat Sikhs by emerging as the second largest party with 20 seats, 18 of them in the Malwa region. However, it failed to make a mark in Majha and Doaba regions. Mann held his fort despite Modi wave across the country in 2019 by retaining the Sangrur Lok Sabha seat for the second time in a row. "The fight is not to save some political families but to save Punjab, the farmers, the agriculture, the industry and the youth. Owing to lack of employment and better education infrastructure, our youth is moving abroad," was the common talk of Mann in his folksy style in his elections campaigns. Formerly a popular comedian-actor, Mann, known for his trademark 'basanti' turban, a colour associated with Shaheed Bhagat Singh, has had his fair share of controversies in recent years, especially linked to his drinking habit. In these polls, AAP's vote share is estimated to be close to 42.45 per cent compared to 22.9 per cent of the Congress and 17.9 per cent of the SAD. The meteoric rise of AAP in the 2014 Parliamentary polls and then in the 2017 Assembly elections in Punjab followed by its nosedive owing to 'mass exodus' of its legislators proved a litmus test for the party in the 2022 Assembly polls in the state. Political observers say AAP was seen as the alternative to the traditional parties that had dominated Punjab's electoral space for decades. Learning a harsh lesson from its mistake during the 2017 Assembly polls of not declaring a chief ministerial candidate, this time AAP's CM face Bhagwant Mann was locked in a multi-cornered contest with Congress' 'Aam Aadmi' Charanjit Singh Channi, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) chief Sukhbir Badal, Capt Amarinder Singh, whose new party Punjab Lok Congress is in alliance with the BJP and the Samyukt Samaj Morcha, the fledgling coalition of farm unions. Channi, Sukhbir Badal and Captain Amarinder Singh faced humiliating defeat from their respective seats. In 2017, AAP sought vote in the name of Arvind Kejriwal, and despite him being tagged an outsider, it managed to win 20 seats in the 117-member Punjab Assembly, emerging as the principal opposition party, pushing SAD to the number three position. Kejriwal thanks people of Punjab after trends show landslide win for AAP

New Delhi, The <keyword id="6354944" type="DEFINITION" weightage="20" keywordseo="aam-aadmi-party">Aam Aadmi Party</keyword> (AAP) on Wednesday claimed unidentified men on Tuesday night opened fire on the convoy of its MLA-elect <keyword id="6391535" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="naresh-yadav">Naresh Yadav</keyword>. The party said one person was killed in the attack. AAP Rajya Sabha MP <keyword id="6360239" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="sanjay-singh">Sanjay Singh</keyword> told IANS that on late Tuesday night, Yadav was attacked when he was returning from temple. "The convoy of Yadav was attacked. Unidentified men opened fire at the convoy when Yadav was returning from the temple after results. A party volunteer Ashok has been killed," Singh told IANS. Singh said the a party volunteer was injured following the attack. He blamed the law and order situation in Delhi for the incident. The AAP swept the Delhi Assembly elections as it bagged 62 of 70 seats here.

AAP's convoy attacked by gunmen; one volunteer killed

"Earlier, the people used to say that AAP is a Delhi-centric party with no footprint outside the national capital. But, now people have changed their views towards AAP. We have worked hard and proved that the AAP has a vision for the country. In the last six years, our work in Delhi has been noticed by the people," the Chief Minister added. AAP to contest elections in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat in 2022, says Arvind Kejriwal

 The above shayari sums up how the wind in the form of the <keyword id="6354944" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Aam-Aadmi-Party">Aam Aadmi Party</keyword> (<keyword id="6356115" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="AAP">AAP</keyword>) uprooted the seemingly invincible lotus of the Bharatiya Janata Party (<keyword id="14666" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="BJP">BJP</keyword>) under the leadership of Narendra Modi-Amit Shah duo. In a first major setback for the BJP after coming to power at the Centre last year, the party could not manage even a two-digit figure in the Delhi Assembly elections. On the other hand, AAP made almost a clean sweep, winning 53 and leading in 14 seats. 
 
The magnanimity of AAP’s victory took even political pundits by surprise. Although all exit polls had forecast that AAP would win the elections, none of them had projected such a massive victory. India Today-Cicero exit poll had estimated 38-46 seats for AAP and 19-27 for the BJP in the 70-member Assembly. The exit poll conducted by Chanakya for News 24 had projected 48 seats for AAP and 22 to the BJP. 
 Meanwhile, the <keyword id="1575" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Congress">Congress</keyword> was totally decimated and it could not even open its account. This is testimony to the fact that AAP has eaten into the vote share of the Congress. 
 
AAP’s promise of ‘corruption-free’ government caught the people’s fancies and it scored over the BJP’s rhetoric of development. AAP offered better and ethical politics, which is not there to be found in the conventional political parties. It also has a policy of not compromising on four C’s of the prospective candidates: corruption, character, communalism and criminal cases. For instance, it cancelled the ticket of its candidate from the Wazirpur constituency after receiving a negative report about him. 
 
Having won the people’s mandate by such an overwhelming majority, now AAP needs to live up to the expectations of the people. And this is what lies in their agenda now. “I had told you that anything less than 36 seats would be like a defeat for us. Now that we have won, we will focus on implementing our agenda, and the Jan Lokpal will be on the top of that,” senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia, who is likely to become the home minister, told Business Insider. 
 
It remains to be seen whether the two-year-old party justifies the immense faith that the people of Delhi have reposed in it.

Aam Aadmi Party today welcomed <keyword id="14666" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="BJP">BJP</keyword> leader <keyword id="6356997" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Navjot-singh-sidhu">Navjot Singh Sidhu</keyword>'s decision to quit from <keyword id="48510" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Rajya-Sabha">Rajya Sabha</keyword> and opened its doors to the cricketerturned politician to join its ranks, signaling an imminent churning ahead of next year's Punjab Assembly polls. 
 Within minutes of Sidhu's resignation, <keyword id="6356115" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="AAP">AAP</keyword>'s Punjab convenor Sucha Singh Chhotepur and AAP's state incharge Sanjay Singh hailed Sidhu's "courageous" decision and said the party was "looking forward" to welcome him. AAP spokesperson Deepak Bajpai said Sidhu would be making an "announcement" soon, adding that the party is open to the joining of individuals who believe in honest politics. 
 
 "Navjot Singh Sidhu is most welcomed to join @AamAadmiParty @sherryontopp @AAPPunjab2017. Appreciate Navjot Sidhu and Dr Navjot Kaur Sidhu Move, looking forward for their Welcome to @AAPPunjab2017 @AamAadmiParty @DrDrnavjotsidhu (sic)," Chhotepur tweeted. 
 
Asked if Sidhu could be made AAP's chief ministerial candidate in case he decides to take the plunge, AAP's Sangrur MP Bhagwant Mann said, "Whoever joins AAP, he is clearly told that it has to be unconditional." Sidhu, a former Lok Sabha MP from Amritsar, was convicted in a culpable homicide case in Patiala and is out on bail. Singh, a member of AAP's highest decision ­making body, Political Affairs Committee, tweeted, "Navjot Singh Sidhu has taken a courageous step by resigning as a BJP member from the Rajya Sabha. I welcome his decision." 
 Sidhu's decision came on a day AAP chief <keyword id="260213" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Arvind-Kejriwal">Arvind Kejriwal</keyword> is touring Punjab as part of the party's intense push to capture power in the northern state by defeating the incumbent SADBJP alliance and Congress in a triangular contest.

NEW DELHI: <keyword id="6356115" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="AAP">AAP</keyword> is likely to sweep Delhi, bagging six of the seven seats, pick up a seat in Greater Mumbai and one in the Noida-Ghaziabad area in the coming <keyword id="6355187" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="40" keywordseo="Lok-Sabha">Lok Sabha</keyword> polls, according to an opinion poll done in the <keyword id="53426" type="CITY" weightage="60" keywordseo="NCR">NCR</keyword> region and in the Mumbai-Greater Mumbai areas. The party is also set to mark its presence in the other NCR satellite cities, though it may not win a seat in them, the poll suggested. 
 The poll, conducted by AC Nielsen for ABP News, also predicted that AAP’s impressive performance in these areas would result in <keyword id="1575" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="60" keywordseo="Congress">Congress</keyword> and <keyword id="6355364" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="40" keywordseo="UPA">UPA</keyword> getting virtually decimated, winning just three of the 21 seats in all these cities put together, compared to the 17 it won last time. The BJP, the poll projected, would win 10 of the 21 and AAP eight. 
 
Despite the strong showing the poll predicts for BJP, its findings may give the party reason to worry as it indicates that AAP could become a significant player in urban areas and not let BJP make the most of any anti-Congress feeling. 
 The poll found that <keyword id="6354477" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Narendra-Modi">Narendra Modi</keyword> remains the preferred choice for <keyword id="71" type="POSITION" weightage="60" keywordseo="Prime-Minister">prime minister</keyword> in both Delhi-NCR and Mumbai-Thane, although in the capital region, he is only slightly ahead of <keyword id="260213" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Arvind-Kejriwal">Arvind Kejriwal</keyword>, with 45% picking the <keyword id="6356617" type="POSITION" weightage="40" keywordseo="bjp-leader">BJP leader</keyword> and 42% backing the Delhi <keyword id="5269" type="POSITION" weightage="40" keywordseo="Chief-Minister">chief minister</keyword>. 
 In Mumbai-Thane, Modi has an impressive 51-18 lead over Kejriwal. In fact, <keyword id="5268" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Rahul-Gandhi">Rahul Gandhi</keyword>, with 22% in Mumbai-Thane backing him, is ahead of Kejriwal, though he is a distant third in Delhi-NCR with just 16% preferring him as PM. 
 
According to the poll, AAP would win six seats in Delhi with an impressive 57% vote share and win one of the Noida-Ghaziabad duo with 33% of the votes. In Mumbai-Thane too, it would win one seat with 17% of the votes. In Gurgaon-Faridabad, it would pick up 21% of the votes, which would be insufficient for the party to bag either of the two seats. 
 
The Congress tally is predicted to drop drastically not just in seats, but also in vote share in all these areas. The BJP’s vote share, in comparison, would rise somewhat in Mumbai and Noida-Ghazaiabad and significantly in Gurgaon-Faridabad. However in Delhi, the saffron party too could see its vote share declining considerably. In Noida-Ghaziabad, the BSP would also be a significant loser both in terms of vote share and by way of losing the one seat it currently has.

NEW DELHI: The <keyword id="1575" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="Congress">Congress</keyword> appeared edgy on the day <keyword id="260213" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Arvind-Kejriwal">Arvind Kejriwal</keyword> announced his readiness to form the government in Delhi amid growing realization that the decision meant to trap <keyword id="6354944" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="60" keywordseo="Aam-Aadmi-Party">Aam Aadmi Party</keyword> has opened the faultlines within and the decision may even boomerang. 
 Amid talk of revocation of support and with former <keyword id="5269" type="POSITION" weightage="60" keywordseo="Chief-Minister">chief minister</keyword> <keyword id="5267" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Sheila-Dikshit">Sheila Dikshit</keyword> holding talks with MLAs, coupled with late evening protests at the party office, there were serious concerns that the party might come off as flippant. 
 
The opposition to Kejriwal, barely days after the party decided to back him “to hold him to his promises to the people”, surprised senior leaders, who felt the newbie was succeeding in making the Congress appear jittery. 
 
At the root of the confusion lies a miscalculation. The party did not expect Kejriwal to accept the offer of support, and had hoped to project his refusal as running away from responsibility because of the fear of failure in implementing poll promises. Kejriwal surprised them while the party did not have the option of reneging on the commitment. 
 With Kejriwal and his group threatening to implement the <keyword id="6356115" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="AAP">AAP</keyword> agenda, the worry in Congress now is that the gambit to prop up the AAP government could be counter-productive. The party’s rout has been traced to AAP’s poaching of its constituents and there is concern that populist promises like cheaper power and water may intensify the desertion of poor from the party kitty. 
 The apprehension seems to have made Congress appear adrift in the evolving circumstances. Withdrawal of support is no option. “How can we pull the plug even before we plug in? It is a letter given to the <keyword id="6354564" type="POSITION" weightage="40" keywordseo="Lieutenant-Governor">lieutenant governor</keyword> promising support to AAP. Congress cannot be reduced to a joke,” lamented a senior leader who was initially opposed to backing AAP. 
 The party reckons that AAP will come short in delivering its promises. “AAP has to fail for Congress to revive,” a <keyword id="168671" type="POSITION" weightage="40" keywordseo="party-leader">party leader</keyword> said, emphasizing that the party has to put up with Kejriwal in the immediate run for the sake of its own credibility. 
 
“It requires some patience and equanimity in the face of coming challenges, like some difficult decisions that Kejriwal may take as chief minister to needle the Congress,” a party manager said. 
 
It is feared that the “impatience” on display like opposing support to the new government will leave Congress stranded by making it appear churlish and opportunistic without any gains in return. 
 
Irrespective of what happens, Congress is on the back foot. Even if it grudgingly agrees to back AAP, it is apprehensive of what might happen if the debutant succeeds. Its entire calculation has come to rest on the hope that Kejriwal will find it impossible to fulfil his promises on the land, power and water fronts.

This party was formed less than a decade ago and has been people’s choice over a well-established, powerful political party. They learnt quickly from their mistakes and implemented improvised strategies, leading to success. And if they could do it, so can we. Let’s have a quick look at what we can pick from AAP’s <keyword id="6374450" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="success-story">success story</keyword>. 
 
· Perseverance is the name of the game: Irrespective of which field you are in, it is important to continue doing your thing, day in and day out. Yes, there will be setbacks and not everything will work according to your plan. But that should not stop you from putting the necessary efforts. The party has had a difficult time in the past, but they did not give up. Efforts were doubled and they continued working hard. Success can never be an option if perseverance is your virtue. 
 
· Believe in yourself: Whether it’s your ideas, qualities or ways, believe in them without an ounce of doubt. Only then will you be able to give it a shot with all your might. AAP was formed on certain principles, and they stuck to it through all odds. Even when things did not work out as expected, the faith they had in their ideology was undeterred. This helped swing things in their favour in the long run. 
 
· Build your support system: If you think you can make it to the top all alone, you must rethink. A team that works together, family and friends who believe in you are very critical factors to one’s success. This support system has to be nurtured and built up over time. While you expect support from them, it is your responsibility to spare time for them, support and stand by them when they need you. AAP’s leader acknowledged this publicly after their epic win. A strong support system is a must. 
 
· Keep negativity at bay: Reminds me of Taylor Swift’s catchy tune – haters gonna hate hate hate! But that hardly means anything to the ones determined to succeed. While AAP had to dodge all sort of allegations from the opposition, face criticism and answer some uncomfortable questions, they chose to do so gracefully. By reacting negatively, energy, which could otherwise be used constructively, is wasted. While AAP recognised this and did not react to the negative campaigns, we can also do so by focusing only on the positives around us. 
 
· Mistakes happen. Learn and move on: If you have made no mistakes, maybe you haven’t done enough. Yes, mistakes are made by those who try! It’s inevitable and in our best interest to not fear making mistakes. Look at it as a learning opportunity, alter your plan accordingly and move on. Mistakes were a part of AAP’s story too. But they were quick to put their act together. They acknowledged that they had faltered, and moved on learning new things. There is no need to feel embarrassed because you made a wrong move. It’s a part of the game. Make amendments and move on. 
 
· Have a strategy: Mere planning is not enough. One must be able to think intelligently and chalk out a strategy. Unlike the opposition which tried pitching its leaders’ competency, AAP had a different strategy. They knew their voters were looking for somebody with whom they could connect. Looking up to somebody already on a pedestal did not appeal to the majority. AAP campaigned with this strategy in mind, and it clicked for them. Whether you are working or have your own business, it is important to have a strategy to be successful. 
 
· Let go of the results: A weekend before the results, AAP team relaxed and had a good time with their family and friends. They believed in their hard work and were not nervous before the verdict. Similarly, after putting in all the efforts, it is important to detach oneself from the results. If you are satisfied with the work that you have put in and believe in yourself, then results should not bother you. Success will find the deserving. 
 
· With great power comes great responsibility: While everybody is lauding AAP’s victory, the real test begins now. Success brings along hope and responsibility. And this is true for us too. It is important to plan ahead of success. Handling these responsibilities and living up to the expectations is the only way to achieve the next milestone. Let’s plan and track our own progress on that front while the nation tracks AAP.
