I tested the Platinum White colour variant, which comes with a white finish.<br /><br />The laptop comes with a unibody aluminium chassis, that feels extremely durable. It features a new clamshell design aimed at preventing the hot air from blowing towards the display.<br /><br /><div type="image" title="Back design" msid="115055177" hostid="261" sizebytes="46658" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Asus ROG Zephyrus G16 design&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div><br />At the back, the laptop comes with a large diagonal LED strip, which the company has dubbed Slash Lighting. This replaces the dot-matrix display found on some of the earlier laptops from the company. The lighting feels more subtle and is aimed at giving a more minimalistic look to the device. As someone who has to use the keyboard a lot, I found it easy to use the keyboard. The trackpad is decent as well, allowing you to easily navigate. On the left, it comes with the power port, HDMI 2.1 port, a USB Type-C port, a USB Type-A port and a 3.5mm audio jack.<br /><br />  <div type="image" title="Right" msid="115055373" hostid="261" sizebytes="23578" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Ports on the right&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div><br />On the right side, the laptop features a USB Type-A port, a USB Type-C port and an SD card reader.<br /><br /><h2>Display</h2>The display is another area where the Asus ROG Zephyrus G16 shines. It comes with a 16-inch 2.5K OLED display with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels, a 240Hz refresh rate, 0.2 ms response time and 500 nits of brightness, which is excellent for playing indoors and outdoors.<br /><br />  <div type="image" title="D" msid="115055432" hostid="261" sizebytes="35080" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Asus ROG Zephyrus G16 display&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div><br />The colours look great as it comes with 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 colour gamut. The high-resolution display and the high refresh rate make it a treat to game on the device. I played games like Starfield, Red Dead Redemption 2 and more on the laptop, with the device offering excellent visuals in each game.<br /><br /><h2>Performance</h2>The Asus ROG Zephyrus G16 is powered with AMD’s new Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor, a new chipset aimed at offering AI-centric features. It is part of the company’s Ryzen AI Strix Point hardware and has been paired with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 GPU.<br /><br />The Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor features 12 Cores and 24 Threads. This includes four performance Zen5 cores and eight efficiency Zen5c Cores. It runs at up to 80W TDP.<br /><br />The laptop comes with 32GB DDR5X 7500MHz RAM. For storage, it offers a 2TB M.2 PCIe 4.0 SSD. While the RAM is soldered on and cannot be expanded, Asus has provided an extra M.2 2280 slot.<br /><br />As mentioned earlier, I tested the laptop with heavy games such as Red Dead Redemption 2, Starfield and Forza Horizon 5. The laptop was able to easily handle the games at maximum settings. The laptop can handle AAA games with ease at Ultra settings. The high refresh rate also allowed me to enjoy games such as Counter-Strike 2 and Valorant.<br /><br />Coming to its AI features, the new Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 chipset features the XDNA 2 NPU, which is designed for AI. The NPU can process up to 80 TOPS.<br /><br />The device comes with Ryzen AI, a suite of AI-powered apps from AMD. It includes the image generation tool Amuse AI, the LM Studio assistant, and more. While there’s still some way to go for AI-powered apps, the Ryzen AI is an excellent addition to the powerful laptop as it helps in boosting productivity. The device can also make use of AI capabilities baked into Windows and Microsoft Office 365.<br /><br />The laptop is equipped with a 90Whr battery and like most gaming laptops, battery life is not the device’s strongest point. During gaming, it offers around two hours of battery life at full performance. With normal usage, you can get around five to six hours of battery life out of the device.<br /><br /><h2>Verdict</h2>The Asus ROG Zephyrus G16 ticks off all the right boxes, including a premium design, powerful hardware, excellent display and more. The company has also added a ton of AI features that make use of the powerful NPU offered with the processor.<br /><br />Overall, this is an excellent option for those looking for a powerful gaming laptop that can also be used for work. One of the cons of the laptop is its battery life. If you want to use the laptop for several hours on the go, the Zephyrus G16 may not be the right option. However, if you don’t mind plugging in the laptop while using it, you should have no issues.<br /><br />Another thing that you need to consider is the price. Mobile phone users might have to spend notably more for their recharge packs after the general election, as reports indicate that telecom firms are gearing up for a fourth round of <keyword id="891186" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="tariff-hikes" source="Orion">tariff hikes</keyword> in recent times.<br /><br />According to a report by brokerage Axis Capital, a meaningful hike of approximately 25% by operators is anticipated soon. This surge is attributed to a stable competitive environment, the necessity to bolster profitability post heavy <keyword id="21245910" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="5G-investments" source="keywords">5G investments</keyword>, and ongoing government support.<br /><br />Despite the apparent magnitude of the increase, the report suggests it should be manageable for both urban and rural users. This hike is expected to be driven by price increases for 4G/5G bundled packs and the phasing out of low-value packs.<br /><br />Analysts foresee Bharti Airtel and Jio emerging as the primary beneficiaries of the <keyword id="21656632" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="wireless-pack-price-hike" source="keywords">wireless pack price hike</keyword>. Thanks to its metallic body, you don’t have to worry about fingerprint smudges.<br /><br />The volume rockers have been placed considering that the tablet will be used vertically and horizontally. It works well both indoors and outdoors, so you won’t have to worry about using it in sunlight.<br /><br />The tablet’s high resolution and refresh make it an excellent option for watching your favourite movies and shows, gaming and more.<br /><br /><h2>Redmi Pad Pro 5G software and performance</h2>The Redmi Pad Pro 5G runs on Android 14 out of the box, with the company’s HyperOS on top. For those unaware, Xiaomi has replaced MIUI, the company’s custom skin with HyperOS. The tablet will get two years of Android updates and three years of security updates.<br /><br />The tablet comes with a host of connectivity features, including the Smartphone Link feature that allows you to transfer data from your Xiaomi smartphone and tablet easily. In addition to this, you also get a shared clipboard feature, which allows you to copy text and images from your smartphone and paste them onto your tablet.<br /><br />In terms of performance, the tablet is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset. It is available in two variants – 8GB RAM with 128GB of internal storage and 8GB RAM with 256GB of internal storage. I tested the 8GB RAM + 256GB internal storage variant.<br /><br />This is a mid-range chipset that offers decent performance and is enough to get you through your day-to-day activities. While it is not the most powerful chipset, I did not notice any stuttering or lags while gaming at default settings. The device does get slightly warm after an extended gaming session.<br /><br />The Redmi Pad Pro 5G comes with a huge 10,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. The battery on the tablet is good, offering two days of battery life with some gaming and steaming.<br /><br />Another important feature of the tablet is that it supports 5G connectivity, which is great to have, especially for data connectivity.<br /><br /><h2>Redmi Pad Pro 5G camera</h2>It features an 8MP primary camera with 4K recording support and comes with an 8MP selfie camera with 1080p video recording support. New Delhi: India is set to enter a transformative "smartphone era" for cars in 2025, with the introduction of vehicles featuring 5G M2M connectivity and advanced AI technologies, according to the latest findings from Techarc's India Connected Consumer Report 2025.  The report said the automotive sector will skip 4G and will enable connectivity using the latest 5G cellular technology. <br /><br /> It observed that consumers are interested in spending money on improving the value proposition in terms of features, quality and experience rather than exploring too many smart devices. <br /><br /> "22 per cent of the respondents shared about considering optimising their smart devices portfolio. Among the new set of categories, smart/connected cars is generating high interest among consumers. 55 per cent of the respondents said that they have come across news or information about smart/connected cars in recent times," it said. <br /><br /> Starting in 2025, passenger cars in India will be equipped with 5G M2M connectivity, on-device GenAI, and cloud connectivity, making advanced technologies accessible across various price segments, it added. <br /><br /> In-vehicle computing and artificial intelligence (GenAI), along with cloud applications, will become essential components of cars, enabling real-time data processing to support drivers effectively. <br /><br /> Most cars priced at Rs 20 lakh and above will feature these technologies as standard. IDC</em><br /><br /><h2>Vivo leads the market</h2>Vivo has emerged as the market leader in Q3 2024, with a 15.8% market share, up from a 13.9% market share in Q3 2023. This marks the third consecutive quarter where the smartphone maker has led the Indian smartphone market. Vivo’s shipments have increased by 20% year-on-year.<br /><br />Oppo is second, with a 13.9% market share in Q3 2024, up from a 9.9% market share in Q3 2023. The company’s shipments have increased by 47.6% year-on-year.<br /><br />Samsung, which led the Indian smartphone market in Q3 2023 with a market share of 16.2% has been pushed down to the third spot with a 12.3% market share. The company’s shipments have declined by 19.7% year-on-year.<br /><br />Other notable changes include the increase in Apple’s market share from 5.7% to 8.2%, a decline in OnePlus’ market share from 6.2% to 3.6% and a 149% year-on-year increase in shipments recorded by Motorola.<br /><br /><h2>5G shipments on the rise</h2>The share of 5G shipments increased to 83% in Q3 2024, up from 57% in Q3 2023. Of the 46 million smartphones shipped, 38 million were 5G smartphones.<br /><br />This has been fueled by the decline in the average selling price (ASP) of 5G smartphones. The ASP has by 20% to $292 (approx. ₹24,650).<br /><br />“Cyclical dip in demand after the festive period and high shipments in 3Q24 will result in higher stock levels across channels in 4Q24. While it looks excellent indoors, it does struggle a bit when you take it outdoors in direct sunlight. The number reflects Jio's stronghold in the Indian telecom market.<br /><br />According to a press release, the total traffic on the Jio network has reached 40.9 Exabytes, marking a 35.2 per cent year-on-year increase.<br /><br />This surge is attributed to the growing adoption of 5G and Home services.<br /><br />Notably, 28 per cent of the traffic comes from 5G subscribers, indicating a swift transition towards next-generation connectivity.<br /><br />Additionally, Jio's Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) services have contributed significantly to the data traffic.<br /><br />Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been a dramatic 2.4x increase in annual data traffic, with per capita monthly data usage skyrocketing to 28.7 GB from just 13.3 GB three years ago. This surge underscores the growing reliance on digital connectivity in India.<br /><br />Commenting on the results, <keyword id="3820" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Mukesh-Ambani" source="Orion">Mukesh Ambani</keyword>, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries Limited, expressed his satisfaction with the company's performance and its contribution to the Indian economy.<br /><br />He highlighted the significant achievements, including becoming the first Indian company to cross the Rs 100,000-crore threshold in pre-tax profits.<br /><br />Ambani said, "Initiatives across RIL's businesses have made a remarkable contribution towards fostering growth of various sectors of the Indian economy. From upgrading the hitherto 2G users to smartphones, to leading the effort of producing AI-driven solutions, Jio has proved its capability in strengthening the nation's digital infrastructure."<br /><br />He reiterated Jio's commitment to strengthening the nation's digital infrastructure and its continued efforts to provide innovative solutions to consumers.<br /><br />The company's retail arm, Reliance Retail, also showed robust growth, with a 36 per cent increase in footfalls and strong digital commerce platforms offering a broad brand catalogue.<br /><br />"Reliance Retail continued to provide customers endless choices through its robust omni-channel presence. We continue to offer product differentiation and superior offline experience through stores remodelling and revamping of layouts. Our digital commerce platforms also provide newer solutions to users with a broad brand catalogue. Reliance Retail also works towards strengthening millions of merchants through its unique initiatives in new commerce space", said Ambani.<br /><br />In addition to its telecom and retail segments, Reliance Industries Limited has shown resilience in its Oil to Chemicals (O2C) segment, despite challenging market conditions.<br /><br />The KG-D6 block has achieved significant production milestones, accounting for 30 per cent of India's domestic gas production.<br /><br />Ambani emphasised, "Strong demand for fuels globally, and limited flexibility in refining system worldwide, supported margins and profitability of the O2C segment. Downstream chemical industry experienced increasingly challenging market conditions through the year."<br /><br />He added, "Despite headwinds, maintaining leading product positions and feedstock flexibility through our operating model that prioritises cost management, we delivered a resilient performance.
