Now we've just learned that selling the sportier 2021 <keyword id="1492456" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="60" keywordseo="Camaro">Camaro</keyword> SS and ZL1 trims is illegal in Washington and California due to the copper in their brake pads, according to enthusiast blog <a href="https://gmauthority.com/blog/2020/12/2021-chevy-camaro-ss-zl1-can-no-longer-be-ordered-in-california-and-washington/">GM Authority</a> and via <a href="https://www.autoblog.com/2020/12/09/camaro-ss-zl1-banned-copper-brake-pads-california-washington/?ncid=edlinkusauto00000015">Autoblog</a>."As of November of 2020, dealers located in the states of California and Washington are no longer able to order new 2021 <keyword id="1692707" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="60" keywordseo="chevy-camaro">Chevy Camaro</keyword> SS, 2021 Camaro 2SS, 2021 Camaro ZL1, or 2021 Camaro ZL1 1LE models," GM Authority wrote. "The restrictions apply to both the coupe and the convertible body styles."The reason for this is because of <a href="https://dtsc.ca.gov/regs/hazardous-materials-motor-vehicle-brake-friction-materials/">California's Hazardous Materials: Motor Vehicle Brake Friction Materials law</a>. Approved on September 10, 2010 by then-Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, the law forbids the sale of cars with brake pads with more than 5% copper by weight from being sold in the state starting on January 1, 2021.<a href="https://komonews.com/news/local/first-in-the-nation-state-law-bans-copper-in-brake-pads">Washington has a similar law</a>.When you brake, your brake pads clamp down around the brake disc, which generates brake dust. Brake pads that have a high amount of copper in them shed more copper that can then appear in stormwater runoff, which is toxic to "fish, invertebrates, plants, and amphibians," <a href="https://www.epa.gov/sites/production/files/2015-11/documents/copper_brakepads_mou.pdf">according to the EPA</a>. The agency called out copper as being poisonous to salmon in particular, reporting that the metal affects their sense of smell, which makes them less capable of evading predators. When reached for comment, a General Motors spokesperson told GM Authority, "Due to restrictions in California and Washington state related to copper brake pads, customers in those states cannot order a 2021 Camaro SS, ZL1, and 1LE for delivery after January 1, 2021. Customers can, however, purchase these models from available dealer stock in those states."The spokesperson added, however, that once the automaker introduces a new, copper limit-compliant brake system for the 2022 model-year cars, dealers can start ordering them again.The cars affected by the copper limitations are the Camaro's high-performance variants, so it's possible that the issue lies in the materials used in the upgraded brakes. Once the brakes become more environmentally friendly, though, buyers are free to go back to purchasing sports cars powered by 6.2-liter V8s.

The vehicles have all kinds of upgrades to make them suitable for on- or off-road pursuits, including performance-oriented modifications from Chevy's meanest version of the Camaro.Both police Tahoe models use a 5.3-liter V8 that's matched with a 10-speed automatic transmission, according to the company, and there are also "Tahoe police-specific front seats" that offer more hip room so utility belts can fit more comfortably. The rear doors open 13% wider — which works out to 3.5 inches — than the outgoing generation to "ease the loading of handcuffed passengers," which, thank the gods for that. The SUVs also come with a pursuit-rated, all-season tire from Bridgestone, called the Firestone Firehawk Pursuit. The PPV also has specialized suspension tuning that cuts down on body roll, which is a fancy way of describing how much a vehicle leans as it takes a corner, and increases driver confidence when "executing police-type maneuvers." The ride height has also been lowered, for speed, and Chevrolet gave the brakes a big upgrade for maximum stoppage.The company notes the four-wheel-drive Special Service Vehicle, on the other hand, is more off-road focused than ever and can fulfill towing needs where speed isn't required. The Max Trailering Package has a maximum tow rating of 8,200 pounds, which is around where the regular Tahoe tops out. She, too, will be excited to watch him perform but cannot do so alone, and so she flew to Texas to be with his sister."Because my brother's with me, and she can't stand to be alone for the fight, my mom flew to Texas."My sister moved [there] a couple of years back with her cowboy husband and she had to fly out there because she's got to cling on to someone."She's excited, everyone's excited - they all know it's a big opportunity and one that we're going to go out and do what we do."<h2>What Kattar learned from the Diaz brothers</h2><div type="image" title="Nate Diaz and Nick Diaz" height="1125" width="1500" msid="80294240" hostid="261"></div>Though Kattar has never returned to train in California since his sessions with the Diaz brothers, he took a part of Stockton back with him to Massachusetts.The level and intensity of the training, the schedule of a full-time fighter, and the lifestyle are traits he discovered in that time, but continues to use to this day."There's a lot of things I learned from them and that camp that just set the tone for a lot of the training that I do now - big picture things and the amount they train," Kattar said."I haven't trained with them since then, but that altered the way I train since coming back from Stockton."The level of training and amount of training they do. At the time my gym was only open from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the evenings. That's not the schedule for a full-time fighter."If you really want this, you have to go in and make it a lifestyle, and I brought that mentality back with me."It took me over a decade to align with Tyson and Rob, guys who are like-minded, want the belts and put the work in to get the belts."And you're seeing good team chemistry and what can happen when a group of people get together for a like-minded goal."Kattar told Insider that internet rumors that he's from money are overplayed, and that his net worth isn't near a million … yet. His story, he said, may not be a rags to riches one, but it's hardly riches to stitches, either."People think I started with riches but that's not the case, it's definitely not the case.
