The report further anticipated that the Indian <keyword id="20349295" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="online-gaming-industry" source="keywords">online gaming industry</keyword> will reach to USD 4.6 billion by 2026, with its contribution to the M&amp;E sector rising from 10 per cent to 13 per cent. Currently, the online gaming industry is valued at USD 2.62 billion, as per the report. The report underscores the sector's potential as a major employment driver. The sector is expected to create of over 160,000 new jobs annually, with a total of 20 lakh new jobs anticipated by 2030. The report calls for the swift implementation of the National Draft Policy Framework for AVGC-XR. The report further added that a push in the AVGC-XR sector could accelerate growth, paving the way for a larger, more vibrant creative economy. India's AVGC sector had an overall market size of USD 2.3 billion in 2019, which was about 0.7 per cent of the global market size. The sector is expected to grow 2.2 times over the next four years driven by market forces and constitute about 1.5 per cent of the global AVGC market as per Draft National Policy, AVGC-XR, according to the report. Further, the CII GT report advocates for enhanced Intellectual Property Rights to retain talent and content and the introduction of clear regulatory definitions within the gaming industry. The report also calls for enhanced support for AVGC-XR entrepreneurs through Start-Up India and strategic investments in the National Centre of Excellence to foster innovation and global competitiveness. Exports of the vehicles grew 31 per cent in May to 14,400 units compared to 11,000 units a year ago.

The device will get two years of Android updates and three years of security updates. Vivo should have added additional software support to the device, as companies have now started offering longer software support. For those unaware, Funtouch OS is a highly customised version of Android from Vivo and offers a host of features. Unlike the Vivo X100 and X100 Pro, the V30 Pro has its fair share of bloatware. This includes applications like Snapchat, PhonePe, Facebook, LinkedIn and others. While these can be uninstalled easily, the V-Appstore, which is the company’s app store also sends notifications randomly. In terms of performance, the Vivo V30 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 chipset coupled with up to 12GB LPDDR5X of RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. It is to be noted that the Dimensity 8200 is the same chipset that was used in the V29 Pro. While it is an older chipset, the Dimensity 8200 still offers decent performance and battery efficiency. The chipset, which is coupled with ample RAM and storage can handle multitasking efficiently, without any lag. I played popular titles such as Call of Duty: Mobile and Asphalt 9 on the V30 Pro at high settings and did not notice any stuttering. The device does get slightly hot after an extended gaming session, but it is manageable. The smartphone is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with 80W fast charging support, allowing you to charge the device quickly. The OnePlus 12R, which is priced lower than the V30 Pro is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and offers three years of Android updates and four years of security updates. At the end of the day, if you are looking for premium cameras in the mid-range segment and do not mind the reduced software support, the Vivo V30 Pro is a good option for you. And they're facing more pressure than ever to offer <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/electrc-vehicle-demand-problem-affordability-expense-price-cost-2023-10">affordable options,</a> as early EV adopters are gradually replaced by a wave of more practical, frugal buyers.But six years after <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/elon-musk">Musk</a>'s promise, even he appears to be more wishy-washy on that exact price point for Tesla's upcoming affordable model, and some industry experts say its time to rethink our definition of EV affordability.To Musk's credit, Tesla's Model 3 now starts at $33,990, a price point that has <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/tesla-can-make-cars-cheaper-than-competitors-2024-6">pressured Tesla's rivals</a> to lower their own EV prices and has helped to make electric cars more affordable overall.To put the sub-$30,000 price point for EVs into perspective, the average EV buyer paid $56,520 for their new battery-powered cars in July, according to Cox Automotive. That's actually quite an <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/electric-vehicle-misconceptions-about-the-ev-transition-market-sales-2024-5">improvement for affordability</a> in the segment, considering the average price of a new EV peaked at about $66,000 in 2022.Zooming out more generally, the average price paid for any new car is near $50,000, and vehicles transacting at or below $30,000 account for about 18% of new car sales, according to Jessica Caldwell, executive director of insights for Edmunds."It feels like we hold EVs to some kind of different standard," Caldwell told BI, referring to the expectation that EVs should cost the same as gas-powered cars.She said <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/auto-industry-facing-deflationary-spiral-as-people-delay-buying-2024-6">car prices have changed</a> so much overall in the past few years that shoppers who haven't been in the market since before the pandemic are likely to experience sticker shock regardless of what they're buying."There's a disconnect where people believe an EV should be $30,000 without realizing how hard that price point is to actually achieve across the market," Caldwell said.Still, some major automakers say they can achieve this ultra-affordable price point for some of their vehicles. <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/chevy-equinox-ev-first-drive-much-needed-electric-crossover-suv-2024-5">Chevrolet's Equinox EV</a> is getting a base model later this year that will start under $28,000 (but only once you factor in federal tax credits).Jeep has also promised to eventually build a <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://electrek.co/2024/06/13/jeep-launching-electric-renegade-under-25000/">$25,000 electric Renegade</a>, though the brand hasn't provided specifics on when that affordable SUV would arrive.<h2 id="ed61798e-0b6d-45d6-a65c-7b27c8013230">Another way to look at EV affordability</h2>While the sticker price of an EV is unlikely to drop below $30,000 anytime soon, Caldwell said the automotive industry is finding other ways to make these cars more attainable for the <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/the-new-car-market-is-a-little-less-brutal-2024-3">average consumer</a>.Most car shoppers today are shopping based on monthly payments rather than the total price of the vehicle, leaving openings in leasing deals and financing incentives.Caldwell said leases, which usually require smaller down payments and more affordable monthly payments, account for almost 70% of all new EV sales. That, coupled with access to tax credits and other deals, is helping to <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/electric-vehicle-owners-advice-realities-cost-maintenance-driving-electric-2023-11">ease the initial cost</a> of switching to an EV.Car companies are also putting more <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/electric-vehicle-discounts-price-cuts-affordable-tesla-competitor-2023-8">cash on the hood for EVs</a>, with EV incentives outpacing the industry average by 73% and discount packages accounting for around 12% of the car's total price in July, according to Cox data.<h2 id="3536e95d-84f4-4366-bd39-3f0a6dd2de53">Used EVs are a good alternative</h2>Caldwell had another tip for EV bargain hunters: <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/used-ev-electric-car-buying-battery-range-tax-credit-2023-2">check the used lots</a>.EVs have been on the market long enough that a good supply of low-mileage options has hit the used market.According to Edmunds' research, the average age of a used EV is just under three years, compared to the average age of more than four years for all cars."If you want a $30,000 EV you can buy it — it's just going to be used," Caldwell said.

<ul class="summary-list"><li>Tech firm and new EV maker Xiaomi revealed just how much cash it's burning to make its cars.</li><li>The tech firm's EV branch lost about $252 million from April to June, or $9,200 per car.</li></ul>Chinese tech giant Xiaomi, known for making smartphones, turned heads in March when its <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/china-xiaomi-launch-electric-car-apple-failed-tesla-2024-3">maiden electric vehicle</a> sold out with almost 90,000 preorders within a day of launch.Its new auto branch posted an adjusted loss of $252 million for the second quarter ending June 30 — its first-ever full delivery quarter, the company said in its <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://ir.mi.com/system/files-encrypted/nasdaq_kms/assets/2024/08/21/5-44-48/Announcement.pdf">unaudited results filed on Wednesday.</a>That's despite Xiaomi saying it's on track to smash its target of 100,000 deliveries of its first car, the <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/phonemaker-xiaomi-unveils-first-ev-taking-on-tesla-2023-12">Speed Ultra 7</a>, by November.The new electric vehicle maker said it delivered 27,307 SU7s in the second quarter, meaning that, on average, it lost $9,200 for each car. The base price of the SU7 is 215,900 yuan, or about $30,000.That's not to say that Xiaomi loses more money when it delivers more cars: The firm reported a higher-than-anticipated gross profit margin of 15.4%.Yet it's signaled for a while that its auto segment would take time to break even, with <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.scmp.com/business/china-business/article/3258134/xiaomis-maiden-ev-selling-loss-turbocharges-price-war-forcing-chinas-small-players-out-business">CEO Lei Jun mentioning in April</a> that the car was selling at at a loss, though he didn't say by how much.Citibank analysts <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.cnbc.com/2024/04/24/chinas-xiaomi-is-selling-so-many-electric-cars-its-closer-to-breaking-even.html#:~:text=%E2%80%9CBreakeven%20would%20be%20realized%20if,a%2010%25%20loss%20previously%20expected.">wrote in a report at the time</a> that they expected Xiaomi to turn a profit only after hitting annual sales of 300,000 to 400,000 vehicles. They forecast sales of 260,000 cars in 2026.Xiaomi operates one EV factory, which it built itself. Since June, it's been running double-shift operations to <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/ev-china-electric-vechile-xiaomi-sees-apparent-demand-2024-4">push monthly deliveries past 10,000 cars.</a>A company spokesperson told Business Insider that the firm is focusing on increasing the scale of its EV arm to narrow per-car costs."The scale of Xiaomi EV business is relatively small at the moment, while the auto industry is a typical industry with economies of scale," the spokesperson said.For comparison, competing Chinese EV maker BYD <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.reuters.com/business/autos-transportation/chinas-byd-posts-21-jump-quarterly-ev-sales-closes-gap-with-tesla-2024-07-02/">sold 426,039 cars</a> in the April-June quarter.Xiaomi's spokesperson added: "In addition, Xiaomi's first EV is a pure electric sedan, and its investment cost is relatively high, so it will take some time to digest this part of the cost."Lei Jun, the billionaire cofounder of Xiaomi, <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-03-30/xiaomi-is-said-to-plan-15-billion-foray-into-electric-cars">said in March</a> that he intended to pour "tens of billions of investment" over the next few years into building Xiaomi's EV division and car technologies.The tech firm has long said its vision for the SU7 is to create a smart car that rivals Elon Musk's Tesla but is priced more in line with the average Chinese income.Xiaomi said customers are still coming in, with 13,000 more vehicles sold in the second quarter and July combined.Its ambitions for its EV range far, including self-driving and self-parking capabilities and an audio-based artificial intelligence assistant to be fully shipped this month.Overall, Xiaomi posted strong results for its second quarter, with sales across all its sectors rising 32% to 88.7 billion yuan compared to the same period in 2023.Net income also hit 5 billion yuan, up 38% from 3.6 billion yuan in the second quarter last year.The company said it plans to build a variety of EV models beyond the SU7 sedan but has not said what they will be.

In one case, an Illinois board ruled in favor of the dealers' claim that Ford's EV certification program violated state laws.As of December of last year, a little more than half of Ford's nearly 3,000 US dealers had opted out of the EV investment requirements, an early sign that the program had backfired.Ford's dealers will still need to make some investments to support EV sales on their lots, but they will no longer be held to the minimum $500,000 investment.
