Top security officials fear more terror strikes as many militants may have crossed the de-facto border from Pakistan, a day after terrorists attack Gurdaspur, killing seven people, including four policemen.

The security personnel saw similarities between the Gurdaspur attack and attacks in Jammu area in May.

"The same pattern is being repeated. They infiltrate at night, hijack a vehicle and then attack a police station. Now we have to very careful about chapter two, like in May in Samba and Kathua when they divided into two groups. There was a 24-hours gap before the second group attempted an attack," a top security forces official told Economic Times.

Security has been tightened and all military schools in the area have been shut.

Five explosives were found on railway tracks.

"All the five bombs of the railway track are elaborately wired in an IED kind of an arrangement. They are still to be neutralised and are of a highly complex mechanism. We suspect this has been done by a different group as it is well north of the police station," a top official told ET.

The official further told the financial daily that the pattern of attacks clearly point to a Pakistan trained module working in the Jammu area.
