To compete with Jio, Vodafone lures customers with 4G plans, free calling

In order to compete with Reliance Jio Infocomm’s offers, Vodafone, has revamped its Red postpaid plans and will now be offering unlimited national and local calls to any network, along with 3GB of 3G/ 4G data for 4G handset users and 1GB for non-4G smartphones at Rs 499.
Reportedly, except from all this, the subscribers will also get 100 text messages free for a month. The Rs 699 plan offers similar benefits except that 5 GB of 4G/ 3G data and 2.5GB for non-4G handset users. Similarly, Rs 899 plan offers 8 GB 3G/4G data and 5GB for non-4G smartphones.
The Rs 1299 Red postpaid plan offers unlimited calls on home network and free outgoing calls on roaming. Under the plan, users get 12GB of 3G/4G data for 4G smartphone users and 8GB for non-4G smartphones.
The plans seem to be available in some regions and some dealers are aware of it.
