Thousands Of Cribs Sold At JCPenney Are Being Recalled
Retail1 min read

Careful, folks!

There are tens of thousands of cribs — 73,000 to be exact — being recalled due to entrapment and suffocation hazards.

It involves 14 models of the PT Domusindo Perdana wooden drop-side cribs sold exclusively through JCPenney.com and through the retailer's catalog between 1998 and 2008.

Here's the statement from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, which says that a trio incidents called attention to the problem:

The cribs' drop sides can malfunction, detach or otherwise fail, causing part of the drop side to fall out of position, creating a space into which an infant or toddler can roll and become wedged or entrapped, which can lead to strangulation or suffocation. A child can also fall out of the crib. Drop-side incidents can also occur due to incorrect assembly and with age-related wear and tear.
