This tweet from a former Niantic employee nails the current state of 'Pokemon GO'

Niantic Labs, the company that makes the mobile hit "Pokémon GO," is under fire right now.

The company released its first major update for "Pokémon GO" on Saturday night, but in the two days since that update rolled out, players and fans have been outraged at the removal of a crucial feature - the ability to track Pokémon in the game - and the decision to send cease-and-desist letters to third-party companies that helped people track Pokémon they wanted to catch.

Niantic Labs has been silent about these big changes, and this silence has drawn criticism from fans, many of which just want some kind of explanation and possibly some reassurance that this central feature will come back some day soon.

While fans are ranting on forums and even circulating petitions to boycott "Pokémon GO," this tweet from Google's community and outreach manager for its VR platforms - a former Niantic employee, no less - nails why Niantic needs to be more transparent and straightforward with its fans.
