For more than a decade, the Aston Martin DB9 has been one of the finest GT cars in the world.

Now, Aston has finally introduced a worth successor to the venerable DB9.

There is a DB10, but that's been reserved for James Bond duty.

But one car even 007 can't get his manicured mits on is the new DB11 that was introduced today at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.

For the DB11, Aston design boss Marek Reichman, draws heavily from the striking Bond-only DB10 as well as the company's fire-breathing, multi-million-dollar Vulcan hypercar.

"We aspire to make the most beautiful cars in the world," Aston Martin CEO Dr. Andy Palmer said in a statement.

"DB11 is the absolute embodiment of what an Aston Martin should be and we have worked tirelessly to ensure that DB11 combines both exceptional design with the latest technology throughout."

The DB11 is a way more than a pretty new body. There are also significant changes under its skin.

Instead of the long-serving, normally aspirated, 6.- liter V-12 found in the DB9 and the Vanquish, the DB11 gets a newly developed 5.2-liter, twin-turbocharged, 600-horsepower V-12 paired to an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission.

According to Aston, the DB11 is good for a 0-62 time just 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 200 mph.

Inside the new Aston has been updated with a host of updated tech, with help from technical partner Daimler AG.

This includes a completely new center stack design and a brand new infotainment display and control system.

Aston doesn't put out new models very often, so when they, it's quite an event. Looking at the DB11, it appears to be well worth the wait.

Aston Martin is expected to begin deliveries of the DB11 in the fourth quarter of 2016 with a base price of $211,995.
