Intuit India, which ranked 10th on best employers list in India in 2016, climbed up nine spots and is now the best employer in the country.

As per the Economic Times-Great Place to Work Institute study, Intuit was adjudged number one, followed by American Express and Google.

The list of best workplaces included companies such as Lemon Tree Hotels (4th spot), SAP Labs (5), Adobe (6), NetApp (7), Teleperformance (8), Pitney Bowes (9) and DHL (10).

Former Planning Commission member Arun Maira said the country needs a movement to make India the best place to work. "Human resources are our most abundant resource. And unlike buildings and machinery, it is a resource that constantly appreciates through learning," he said.

Former Microsoft chairman Bhaskar Pramanik said, “These old companies were hierarchical, but there are some things they had in common with today's best companies. The peer environment was excellent, the quality of people was the best and there were great opportunities for learning.”
