This is how startups are hiring the right candidates

For those looking for a job change, the conventional way of meaty resumes and mechanical process may no longer work as employers are constantly searching for passionate, creative and interesting profiles. When a Bengaluru-based marketing professional, Arpita Daniel ordered dinner from food and delivery startup Dazo, she had no idea that with her food she would also receive a job offer. "I was totally surprised," Daniel, who accepted the offer immediately, told ET.
"We end up hiring few of our most regular customers. They already know our brand and what we are trying to accomplish, and turn out to be great hires for us," Dazo cofounder Monica Rastogi told the financial daily.
According to her, startups are looking for a passionate, creative, and responsible employee. She is of the opinion that the smartest talent can truly be sniffed out by those who understand the sector.
Rastogi’s one-year-old startup recently raised a round of angel funding from marquee investors including Google India head Rajan Anandan and Amazon India's country manager Amit Agarwal.

Other startups are also experimenting such as Zomato, an online restaurant guide, has started a 'Trial Week' method where it takes candidates for a week to work with its tech team. The company later analyses the candidates and select them on the basis of their work.
Saurabh Sengupta, senior vice-president for recruitment at Zomato, said the company takes care of everything — travel, stay, and food. At the end of the week, the company offers jobs to those who are eligible and fit.
