Delhi’s rising pollution has led to emergency-like situation, forcing schools, colleges and construction sites to shut down. The air quality in Delhi-NCR has turned worse, especially after Diwali.

In this backdrop, even corporates are taking several measures to protect their employees from the choking pollution.

Many companies are providing masks, installing air purifiers in offices and are even asking employees to stay indoors and work from home.

Some top level executives have even travelled out of Delhi to work from different locations.

An American Tower Corporation (ATC) official told ET the company is going to announce flexible working hours next week in the wake of increased pollution levels in Delhi-National Capital Region.

Other companies like Google, Huawei, Panasonic and LG Electronics India have already installed air purifiers in their local offices.

“We have installed air purifiers across all our offices. We don't want to take any chance with regard to our team's health," Panasonic India President Manish Sharma told ET.

Meanwhile, Coca-Cola has announced work from home and Indus Towers, Lava and Intex Technologies have also provided protective masks to employees.

Chairman of Manipal Global Education Services TV Mohandas Pai said people with young children should leave the city and activities such as construction and burning of paddy husk should be banned for at least 15 days.
