This fascinating video charts 100 years of wedding dresses in 3 minutes
The video charts the past 100 years of wedding dress history, from 1915 right through to 2015, and the transformation is fascinating.
In 1915, fashion was clinging onto its Edwardian past and the wedding dresses were ankle length and an off-white (or gold) colour. The dress shown has a floral print and is less cinched at the waist than the dresses we're used to today. The style remained relatively similar throughout the next decade, except the dresses became shorter and pearls became commonplace.
The 1980's predictably created the most distinct style - puffed sleeves, long trains, bouffant hair, and garish makeup were a given.
Thankfully, fashion regained its senses by the 90's, and 20 years on, a lot of brides opt for sleek, subtle dresses. The model in the video is left in a modern, ivory gown with detailed applique, before being whisked off by her partner.
