This Appears To Be The Scene Of The LAX Shooting

Details are still flowing in of a shooting at Los Angeles International Airport today, but airport officials say the gunman is in custody and multiple people are wounded.

Multiple photos from eyewitnesses show an assault rifle of the AR-15 variety laying at the feet of responding officers.

The AR-15 is among the most common rifles in the United States, but are banned in many states as a result of increasingly stringent gun laws.

Though the images do not clearly show the make of the rifle laying on the ground, it closely resembles a Bushmaster .223 caliber rifle used in Newtown, Conn., and Aurora, Colo., last year.
