- TravisMathew is known for its stylish golf clothes, but it looks just as good off the green too.
- The clothes are comfortable, wrinkle-resistant, and stylish. They're also reasonably-priced for the quality and durability.
- My boyfriend tried and loved its polos, pants, and jackets, but we'd recommend checking out the rest of the brand too.
While TravisMathew may be known best as a golf brand, you won't want to put this company in a corner. In fact, most of the pieces look just as good off the golf course because of their versatility, comfort, and fit.
The brand was founded in southern California in 2007, and it's clear that TravisMathew draws quite a bit of inspiration from its idyllic setting. I've been consistently impressed by the quality of the designs, but also the lightweight construction and breathable fabrics.
From polos to button-down shirts to pants, all of TravisMathew's gear is clearly designed with an active lifestyle in mind. Pieces are comfortable to wear all throughout long days, but still elegant enough to transition easily into evening activities as well like happy hour or nice dinners.
Case in point - the Beckladdium pant ($124.95). Inspired by the Beck short ($84.95, and also worth checking out), these pants are comfortable and casual enough to wear on a day at the golf course but still refined enough to wear to the office. My boyfriend wore these recently and loved that the five-pocket pant is lightweight and dries quickly, which will come in handy if you're caught in a summer storm, or more realistically, just sweating up a storm.
These pants are also wrinkle-resistant, which makes them ideal for long days sitting at a desk as well as traveling. Just throw them in your suitcase and rest assured that when you've arrived at your destination, you'll look kept and polished.
The leg of the Beckladdium is just tapered enough to look tailored without being constricting, and thanks to enhanced stretch, they're comfortable all day long. My boyfriend especially appreciates that these pants are available in a range of classic colors, some of which look more formal than others. For a more laid back look, the Khaki is a safe bet, whereas the Vintage Indigo looks a little more refined.
Also worth a shoutout are TravisMathew's polos (starting at $84.95).
Before you write off all polos as being identical to one another, you may want to check these because of the performance fabric construction. Perfect for warmer days due to the wrinkle-resistant and moisture-wicking material, these shirts also have enough stretch for you to feel comfortable without looking baggy.
Whereas other collars seem to stretch quickly after a few wears and washes, TravisMathew's polos have managed to stand up to several cycles in the laundry. Plus, the breathability of the cotton-and-polyester performance fabric makes it ideal on days where you have to look presentable but can't even think about wearing a traditional button-down without sweating.
The Panka polo in Heather Persimmon ($84.95) hue is a personal favorite, though if you're looking for something a bit less understated, you could also opt for the Twinkle Toes in Grey Pinstripe ($94.95). Regardless of what color you choose, however, the real draw of these polos is in the fabric and fit.
And when the temperature starts cooling down at night, TravisMathew also has a wide selection of outerwear too.
My boyfriend is particularly fond of the Salvo jacket ($164.95), a reversible lightweight zip jacket made for the golf course, but looks like something you'd wear during the week when you're at the office. While you might be concerned about throwing some of your other golf jackets in the wash, the Salvo is totally machine washer-friendly, and as with all TravisMathew clothes, also wrinkle resistant. We loved the stretchiness of this jacket, as it allows for more layering during cooler days and nights.
My boyfriend really liked all his pieces from TravisMathew, and found that they held up to the brand's comfort and versatility claims well. He'll definitely be wearing them all throughout the summer - no sweat.
