These bionic ants have the ability to think independently but work together

Festo, a German automation company, has invented bionic ants as part of its Bionic Learning Network. These robot ants run independently, yet work together to complete tasks. The company is using biomimicry, the practice of incorporating nature into mechanical development, to develop technologies that can be used to automate factories.
