Jeremy Corbyn

It's pretty well known that Labour party leader Jeremy Corbyn is a divisive figure here in the UK.

Since being elected as Labour leader in September he has faced numerous challenges, including most recently his own party's MPs arguing among themselves about the UK's bombing of ISIS targets in Syria. He has also faced questions about resigning from some journalists.

On the other side of the coin, he won a big victory in the Oldham by-election last week, proving much of the media - who thought UKIP would flourish in the seat - wrong. He has also garnered massive praise in recent days for being seen in a Santa Hat raising money for Syrian refugees.

Pollster YouGov shows the big divide in public opinion over Corbyn. Some of the words most used by members of the public who dislike Corbyn include "unelectable" and "dangerous." People who support him however, describe him as "honest", "genuine", and "principled."

But while opinion in the UK is split, Corbyn seems to be getting some love from the people of Paris.

A picture tweeted by Economist journalist Oliver Morton shows some supportive grafitti for the Labour leader daubed on a wall in the city's Gare de l'Est area.

The graffiti roughly translates as "I think Jeremy Corbyn would make a great world leader" which goes against he broad consensus in the United Kingdom, according to polls.

Obviously one piece of graffiti isn't representative of the opinions of all the French people, but it's pretty interesting to see that some people in the country are Corbyn fans.

The scribblings coincide with Corbyn actually being in France himself. He has been in Paris in the last couple of days attending the United Nations Climate Change Conference.
