There's Now A How-To Book For Online Restaurant Reviews

A professional food critic wrote a book about how to write better Yelp reviews.

Raskin is a food blogger with bylines in Seattle Weekly and the Dallas Observer.

Her 76-page book, titled Yelp Help: How to Write Great Online Restaurant Reviews, is on sale at Amazon for $2.99.

She explains that "the power to determine a restaurant's future rests almost entirely with civilian eaters," even though chefs and other professional food critics have tried to discredit Yelp and other reviews, Eater writes.

Readers get a history of restaurant criticism, a lesson in restaurant evaluation and practice exercises in Yelp Help.

According to Eater, the best line in Raskin's book is "a five-star restaurant is like pornography: You'll know it when you see it, and it will likely bring you great pleasure."
