A spokeswoman for RBC declined to comment.
Fleming, who also served as the head of US investment banking at RBC, has worked at the firm since 1986 beginning in London, Ontario. He assumed his current responsibilities in 2009, according to the bank's website.
RBC Capital Markets ranked tenth for US investment banking revenue in the first quarter, according to Dealogic, with $252 million in fees. It ranked ninth in US ECM revenues, meanwhile.
