The New York Post has a new feature on AJ and his duel life as a psychology student and a member of U-KISS - which stands for Ubiquitous Korean International Idol Super Star. According to the Post, AJ's "persona" in U-KISS is "the serious one, rapping about girls, girls and more girls."
While the Post notes that AJ is a freshman at Columbia, there have been reports of his presence on campus since 2012.
Since starting Columbia, AJ's biggest disappointment is his relative anonymity at school, he tells the Post:
In Korea and Japan, when the members of U-KISS go outside, they're pretty much recognized. U-KISS is pretty famous. [But] when I [came here for school], no one recognized me...
I knew that U-KISS wasn't really a worldwide [phenomenon]. But on the other hand, I expected some students would notice me because there is a Columbia students' blog, and they actually posted me on the page. But since no one did notice me [once I got here], I was kind of disappointed.
Before the semester starts, U-KISS has a mini US tour planned, which kicks of Thursday night in New York City. You can check out one of their newest singles below:
